I was looking into how much it would cost to extend Luke Evangelista. 56 points this past season and some really amazing defensive metrics. Honestly I knew a lot of hockey analytics guys really liked Evangelista’s defense but I was kind of amazed at just how elite his defense was. The closest player comparable I could find was Zach Benson who just signed for 7 years at 7.5 I think Vange should get something around that number. If he keeps improving which I think he does this could end up being a steal of a contract. So my proposed contract would be 7 years at 7.7 million. If we can do that we just had one of the best offseasons we have had in a long time. Vange has proven himself on a bad team and with a better team I’m hoping he can turn into a Mitch Marner lite kind of player who brings great defense and exceptional play making and some decent goal scoring (he still needs to work on that). I think I’m higher than most when it comes to Vange but I really think he has another level to his game. Even if he stays around this level throughout his career this contract would still be very good and would match current market comparables.

He's going onto his third season in the AHL which is not necessarily a death knell but to me, it's starting to raise questions on what the Preds plan is for him - usually 2 full years AHL is enough. They acquire Lyubushkin and re-sign Barron so what's the path for Ryan?

Or the Preds are just really relaxed about not rushing while Josi winds down his career. But even then Tommy Bleyl will be coming up.

First and foremost, I want to say that I am not advocating for sports betting or gambling. If this type of post isn't allowed, please remove it. Although, I don't think it breaks any rules. Sports betting and gambling in general can just be a touchy subject, so I wanted to say that.

There is a bonus on Draftkings right now that if you put a $5 bet on any of the World Cup quarter finals games today, you get ESPN ultimate for a year which includes ESPN+. ESPN+ on it's own is like $13/month or something which comes out to over $100/year, so this was a no brainer to me. I just threw $5 on Norway to upset England and called it a day.

Again, not advocating for gambling, but I wanted to let my fellow Predditers know about this since it's a pretty good bang for your buck.

Will all the new additions added to our roster this off season seems to me Marchy is the odd man out. Yes I know he has a NMC and a big contract. Realistically (heard Montreal might be interested) who would be a good trade (if willing to waive clause) for the seasoned veteran?

With Barron, I am not sure what CMac is thinking on this one. I guess 1yr prove it year to move up from 7th man to 6th D man. Who do you think would take a gamble on him? want to see Ufko up more
