Hey peeps, just moved from up north to Southsea a few weeks ago for a new job, and after spending a bit of time getting myself settled I reckoned I'd reach out to try and meet some similar-aged people and make some new mates!

I'm 22, quite sociable and always down for a pint. Big gamer, reader, just got back into running, probably need to pick a gym, and love getting involved in anything that is more of just an excuse to meet up with mates, amongst many other interests and shenanigans and happy to learn and try new stuff too!.

If anyone has any pointers for groups and whatnot that would be great, or equally if anyone would like to reach out please do so! (something something northeners are friendly)

Hi all. I’m thinking of starting the gym very soon but I just need to get over the mental hurdle + general anxiety. Just looking for some general idea of that atmosphere to expect :-)

I was woken at 4:00 a.m by the sound of speed racing in the Cosham area. When are the authorities going to deal with this anti social behaviour?

I’ve lived here for around 5 years, moved from the north. Locals may disagree with my points but after recently returning from the Mediterranean and in all honesty the weather here has been just as good since the end of may, it got me thinking.

1) we have a huge beach front with minimal on it, the entire esplanade could have restaurants or bars, we seem to have 4? Between Eastney and old Portsmouth

2) we are an hour and a half from London, sure Brighton is closer but when you compare the investment and vibe in Brighton to Portsmouth it’s massively different. The entire beach front for shoreham to Brighton has seen huge investment and gentrification.

3)I understand there is minimal space to build on the island, but why are we not building up, we could have roof top bars and pools that would absolutely see use from may through to the end of September at least.

4) the beach it’s self, always busy in summer, rammed with people sunbathing and barbecues or people doin water sports etc, yet there’s minimal infrastructure in places to make this a better experience apart from around the piers.

Guess I’m just having a rant, I just feel this is a great city with so much potential that seems to be ignored. Because of some old reputation that it’s a dump. It’s got great history, great transport links, in all honesty a great climate yet it just seem a to be missing a lot in comparison to other countries places and it could offer so much more.

Was walking past Guildhall Square earlier and was delighted to see the crowd of graduates and their families together. However, as I've recently got back into photography lately having bought a crisp 75mm portrait lens and wanting to test it out more, I thought I'd offer my time to anyone wanting some more cleaner photos of their big day (even if smartphones of today are darn good). It would be free of charge (however, I do accept donations in Krispy Kreme Donuts).

Got a potential leak somewhere in my 2014 Civic Tourer and wondering if there's anywhere people recommend for getting it serviced (i.e. compressor replacement.) Currently getting a diagnostic done at Halfords as it's the quickest and most convenient at the minute, but they said I should refer to a specialist should a leak arise.

I live in East Sussex, half hour the other side of brighton and I am desperate to move to the po1-po5 area.

I know finding people who want to relocate is hard but we have a lovely 2 bed flat in a quiet area, surrounded by schools, shops, bus stops and 3 miles of unspoilt beach. It's such a gorgeous place to live but I haven't had any interest in months.

My partner lives in Pompey and has to remain there due to family commitments and myself and daughter are desperate to be there too. We feel it would be so much better for us as a family.

Saying this from a purely appreciative view as being butt ugly, chubby and in my 50s I probably looked rather disturbing sat there with my jaw wide open like a teenager at a topless beach for the first time but my lord, this lady was so pretty, time stood still, female greatness.
