Dogs barking in Hopkinstown

Normally its one dog, 20,30,40 mins of non stop barking at 12, 1, 2am. Tonight its 2 or 3. You shouldn't own a dog if its barking that much for 2 reasons.

  1. Its cruel to your dog and youre not fit to own one.

  2. Its fucking out of order to your neighbours you ignorant bellend.

Can't have my window open, can hear it over movies with the windows shut. Pathetic.

Alex Davies-Jones and Israel

Anyone else disgusted by our MP's latest display in a Westminster Hall debate? Again prostrating herself at the behest of a foreign country? Standing arm in arm with some of the most vile politicians in Westminster (Richard Tice, Andrew Mitchell) to complain about a possible inquiry into Israeli interference in politics, when she herself has accepted THOUSANDS from the pro-Israel lobby.

After her disgraceful attempt to criminalize those local girls last year for simply exercising their right to free speech, it's clear that she's compromised. If she doesn't resign in disgrace then I hope she gets removed at the next election, don't care who replaces her, I'd even take a Reform MP, at least you expect them to be terrible people

Looking for some poems sold door to door

Does anyone remember a gentleman who went around in the late 90's, selling poetry? It was typed or printed on coloured card.

We lived in Church Village at the time, and my dad bought two poems, on red and yellow card.

I think one was about Welsh children at play, on a beach. The other one was, (I think) about King Arthur.

I remember the lines vaguely as "past the Rhondda, now pale in its pride, for the king we look to now is not coal, but living flesh", and "the light of the cave was brighter than mother moon"

Can anyone help? I know it's been about 30 years, sorry.

RCT Council Active Travel Survey 2026

Thumbnail datamap.gov.wales
2 Upvotes

RCT Council have a new Active Travel survey running until 20th August, for feedback on county walking and cycling routes: https://lets-talk.rctcbc.gov.uk/let-s-talk-active-travel

The survey is supposed to be completed in conjunction with the Active Travel Network Map, which shows current and proposed future routes. Unfortunately, it's a bit slow and clunky to use (I wouldn't try to do this on a mobile device, for example). Also, you have to complete the survey multiple times for each route you want to respond about.

Why isn’t this bit of land next to Trefforest station used as a footpath?

Would cut my (albeit already short) walk from the station in half if this was a footpath! Anyone know whether it’s private land?

Megic the Gathering

Heyah

I was wondering if anyone that likes Magic the Gathering would be up to meeting up and teaching me how to play? I love Avatar the Last Airbender and my husband gave me a bunch of cards from that release but neither one of us knows how to play 🤣

I'll bring the cards to learn how to play 🙂

Paying for buses from ponty to the hospital, and then down tk cardiff

ive never used buses in RCT, but tomorrow, I have to head over to the Royal Glamorgan, then the Cardiff afterwards.

do they take contact less, or do I need to make sure I have cash on me? Will be getting the 404 over there, but not sure how it would then be getting to cardiff, depends on what time I finish at the hospital

Big police response on River Street in Trefforest

2 or 3 police vans, ambulance and a rapid response 'ambulance' car thing right off of the roundabout. Road still open as of 19:40, although all the vans are somewhat blocking the way

Dog friends

Myself and my partner moved to Pontypridd about a year ago and we love it. about 6 months ago we adopted a dog that is a rescue. He is a sight hound (we think a Saluki Greyhound cross).

He has some behavioural issues including separation anxiety. Recently, he has started to display some reactivity. this doesn’t happen all the time, we can sometimes go weeks without it happening. I’m worried it may be due to a lack of socialisation as we don’t know anyone in the local area with dogs. I was just wondering if maybe someone would be open to meeting with the dogs to try some socialisation? it would be done safely and in a managed way of course.

He does have some dog friends that he gets on well with, but they live a little while away.

He has started medication and we are seeking advice from a behaviouralist too. any advice welcome.

Diolch.

Your contribution can have a big impact on better public transport in Pontypridd

I hope it’s okay to post here.

Hi everyone!

I’m a PhD student and I’m looking for help with a short online survey (around 5–10 minutes) about daily travel in South Wales, including Pontypridd.

Everyone is welcome to take part, whether you mainly drive, use public transport, walk, wheel, or cycle.

As a thank you, participants can enter a prize draw for a chance to win a £20 Love2Shop voucher, which can be spent at many high street shops.
If you’d like to take part, here’s the link:

Thanks very much! The flyer below has more details.
