Why are people sleeping on these two Pokemon Center ETBs?
The current prices of the Pokemon Center versions of the Chaos Rising and Pitch Black ETBs are the lowest I’ve seen for any modern set post-release.
I understand that the underlying sets are not as popular as others, but even Perfect Order’s PKC ETB is currently more expensive.
I wouldn’t necessarily buy many regular ETBs of these sets, but the PKC one at current prices is a no brainer. It’s a limited print run and should outperform any other SKU in these sets once it starts going out of print.
These won’t be overnight winners, but I am buying as many as I can afford at current prices. DYOR.

Sell or hold
Just came across this when cleaning out my parents basement. Seeing how much it’s gone up the past few years should I sell now or hold it? I’ve been out of Pokemon for a long time so I’m unaware of the chase cards. Thank you

Do people still collect core vintage sets?
Edit:
Sorry, I should have been clearer. What i meant to ask: Do people still buy complete vintage sets all at once, or has the market shifted toward people preferring to pick and choose individual singles instead of chasing a master set?
And whether it would be a mistake to get rid of these sets in favour of higher end slabs like stamp pika or the CD promo starters.

I’m 6 cards away (3rd slide) from completing all the Japanese holos from Base Expansion to Neo 1. Once completed, everything (including some odd mid era cards) will be worth $9k cad, give or take depending on condition.
Im playing with the idea of just putting everything into a stamp Pikachu promo in a 10, or the CD promo starters.
Is this a good idea or should I just hold onto the raws?

SGC 10 Charmander Pokemon Center promo
This is the one and only card that I have and I originally bought it because I really loved the art and it's my favorite pokemon. Raw at the time was like $10 and for the sgc 10gm was only $40 and im blown away that psa 10 are going for $5k+. Realistically how much would an sgc 10 go for?

Found at target, 3.49 each
My target is changing their layout and I found these on a shelf in bedding/home aisle. I assume employee found under a shelf or stashed from years ago (set is 2014). Still rang up at original price. The temptation to rip is real especially at 3.49 a pack, is this set worth keeping sealed?

Cleaning out my parent's house....jackpot?!?
So I was going through my old pokemon collection while cleaning out my parent’s place, and I came across these sealed packs. When I searched eBay for sold listings, I didn’t know how collectible some of this stuff had become–I’ve been out of the game for over 20 years. I know Pokemon is still popular, but *that* popular?!? The value on the Japanese Revelation pack alone made my eyes bug out.
At my current point in life, I think I’m going to try to offload the top 10 packs while the getting is good–I’m trying to save for a house to buy within the next 5 years. And then let the other 10 packs chill over the years.
The “Collectr” website says this bunch is worth around $17k (and that’s not including the French, Spanish, or German packs). How believable is this estimate??
As an eBay seller of other junk, I hate their fees, but the convenience is nice. Do y’all have good luck on your local Facebook Marketplace, somewhere on Reddit, or other popular Facebook group? Or should I just stick to eBay out of convenience? I don't want to travel to conventions or card shows. I’ll get the top 5 or so graded since I’m not an established Pokemon seller, but other than that, is there anything else to consider before offloading a collection like this?
Thank you so much from a total newb.

Built a FREE sealed set price prediction model based on hundreds of thousands of sales.
I got tired of my buddies asking if they should sell or hold sets, so I made this site that just shows the average trend line of where prices are likely to go for ETBs, etc. based on historical averages over time (after sets are done printing, etc.) and how the price has been tracking so far. Pulled hundreds of thousands of ebay sales to compute this.
Called SealedValue.com It’s a free research project, no account or payment required.
The current version:
- Tracks 111 sealed products
- Uses 357,389 recorded sales
- Separates Pokémon Center ETBs, standard ETBs, booster bundles, and booster boxes
- Includes 180 historical forecast tests
Prices are a weekly research snapshot, not live quotes, and the forecasts are definitely not guarantees.
I’d especially appreciate criticism from people who collect sealed products.

Hope it's useful!

A second opinion
A local store has a personal grail that I'll likely send to grade / let's say for a safe bet it's a 5/6, they have it priced for £650 firm
My above is what I have to trade, in addition to some other pieces, just looking for some second opinions on what people would do. I'll probably get rid of some ace 9s and maybe one sealed. Giratina is a last resort for trade

What should I do with these two?
So, these two are currently on their way back to me.
I actually graded them just so I could sell them as I thought they had a solid chance of getting pristine 10s, fast forward 2/3 months later and the arse is currently falling out of the market. I think I'm pretty tempted to just hold onto them until everything starts to pick back up again (I'm not in a rush to sell necessarily).
Is anyone else holding onto these two cards? What do you plan to do with them if so?
I'm just looking to get a few thoughts on the potentially of these cards and what everyone else is doing with them. Thanks!

Modern investing: Raws or Slabs?
I basically did a quick analysis (with my good friends ChatGPT pro and Claude Max) and see that, on average, if we consider the top chase cards of modern sets, we see raw chases perform similar (if not better) than their psa 10 counterparts, with the metric being % growth in the last X months/year.
This kinds of begs the question whether a modern investment portfolio of modern chase cards should be the raw form or slabs. Slabs can be more liquid/demand, but if raws can achieve the same % growth at a much less investment capital, why not go into raw forms?

Is it worth buying 30th Anniversary from a collectors stand point?
My wife and I just got into collecting. We started with Pitch Black. Our gamestop has 30th available for preorder but seems kinda expensive. Do people still truly collect or are they just chasing an expensive card?
