Is it better to buy exclusively from the Ebay PSA page?
Especially for beginners getting into this hobby?

Modern investing: Raws or Slabs?
I basically did a quick analysis (with my good friends ChatGPT pro and Claude Max) and see that, on average, if we consider the top chase cards of modern sets, we see raw chases perform similar (if not better) than their psa 10 counterparts, with the metric being % growth in the last X months/year.
This kinds of begs the question whether a modern investment portfolio of modern chase cards should be the raw form or slabs. Slabs can be more liquid/demand, but if raws can achieve the same % growth at a much less investment capital, why not go into raw forms?

30. Anniversary release in China same time?
Will the 30. Anniversary set also release in China at the same time with everybody else?
Asking since usually they were behind now always

Do people still collect core vintage sets?
Edit:
Sorry, I should have been clearer. What i meant to ask: Do people still buy complete vintage sets all at once, or has the market shifted toward people preferring to pick and choose individual singles instead of chasing a master set?
And whether it would be a mistake to get rid of these sets in favour of higher end slabs like stamp pika or the CD promo starters.
———————-
I’m 6 cards away (3rd slide) from completing all the Japanese holos from Base Expansion to Neo 1. Once completed, everything (including some odd mid era cards) will be worth $9k cad, give or take depending on condition.
Im playing with the idea of just putting everything into a stamp Pikachu promo in a 10, or the CD promo starters.
Is this a good idea or should I just hold onto the raws?

A second opinion
A local store has a personal grail that I'll likely send to grade / let's say for a safe bet it's a 5/6, they have it priced for £650 firm
My above is what I have to trade, in addition to some other pieces, just looking for some second opinions on what people would do. I'll probably get rid of some ace 9s and maybe one sealed. Giratina is a last resort for trade

What should I do with these two?
So, these two are currently on their way back to me.
I actually graded them just so I could sell them as I thought they had a solid chance of getting pristine 10s, fast forward 2/3 months later and the arse is currently falling out of the market. I think I'm pretty tempted to just hold onto them until everything starts to pick back up again (I'm not in a rush to sell necessarily).
Is anyone else holding onto these two cards? What do you plan to do with them if so?
I'm just looking to get a few thoughts on the potentially of these cards and what everyone else is doing with them. Thanks!

How everyone doesn't use TAG i will never know!
I know PSA has been the "gold standard" and around a lot longer than TAG! But TAG by far has the best and most genuine practices going out of them all.
You can view the entire report from TAG, its all done via AI and so will be extremely consistent across the board for everyone!
I know this has probably been said to death but I genuinely cannot wrap my head around how PSA is still as big as it is and TAG isn't the gold standard.
I'm guessing its because people have so much money tied up and invested in PSA that they are just forced to keep using them! But holy shit is it bad.
I wish people en mass from now on would start sending everything to TAG and start to steer the market away from PSA! That's the only way it changes

Ascended Heroes ETB vs Focused Fighter or Poster Collection
Yo I’m currently looking to invest in Ascended Heroes but not sure what the best way is. I’m fairly new to investing in Pokémon but from my understanding, Ascended Heroes is probably one of the best sets to invest in that’s currently in print. I have 3 focused fighters and 3 poster collections but haven’t been able to get my hands on ETBs for MSRP. Investment-wise, would it be better to trade/sell my poster collections and focused fighters and stock up on ETBs? Also would the Pokémon Center ETB be a better investment than a normal ETB.

Is Gengar Mysterious Mountains A Purchase?
Is this a good purchase for a 5-10 year investment? PSA 9 pop is at 455.

PokeInvestor Wins Wednesday!
What Pokemon investing wins have you had recently? This can be a great deal, finding product, getting a good grade, or really anything that you are proud of!
We have a PokeInvesting wins channel on the Discord that is pretty popular so we figured we would give it a go and we've had some members suggest this kind of post.
If this sort of post is well received, we can keep it going as a weekly posting to show off your wins for the week. Thanks!

Post release discount on Chinese EXCLUSIVE?
I bought into this card because I thoroughly enjoy rare and unique cards that are the only fullarts of specific pokemon like this Gem Pack Vol. 4 Ponyta.
I ripped 4 booster boxes looking for it and since I didn't pull it I decided to purchase a very clean, raw copy from my LCS for $200 ~ @ $220 Market
At the time, (early-mid July) the PSA pop was sub 200ct and the last sold was averaging $1.3k with plenty of sales at +$1.5k and maybe a handful of lower sales still above $1k.
With PSAs current $80 minimum charge I debated sending it Express or with the $150 service. Considering my entry point and the current 3 month wait on "Express" I thought to myself, hey I can swing $150 and try to get it back sooner with plenty of room to move the card before it goes below $1k to lock in a solid $650 profit which would give me a greater budget to purchase a bigger chase card to work towards my dream collection.
So why do people look at weeks of listings above $1.5k and then randomly decide to sell on ebay for less than half all of the sudden? This is the most annoying part about trying to grade to lock in condition and then have the most liquidity. First to market has the advantages of being able to set prices. Great, I am not expecting 100% or even 90% of those comps. But sourcing a rare, "exclusive" card is hard enough when you try and do it organically by finding product at a reasonable price, on top of pulling it and hoping its a pristine copy, then paying a ridiculous amount to grade it. Only to watch the market price change over night from an upchargeable pricepoint to now <60% of the sales from 10 days ago.
Mindless rant over. Hopefully yall can relate.

Is it worth buying 30th Anniversary from a collectors stand point?
My wife and I just got into collecting. We started with Pitch Black. Our gamestop has 30th available for preorder but seems kinda expensive. Do people still truly collect or are they just chasing an expensive card?

Good investment? Either this or 151 etb
Low gem rate what do you guys think? Been thinking. They also sell a 151 ETB for 600$ is that good? Thanks

SGC 10 Charmander Pokemon Center promo
This is the one and only card that I have and I originally bought it because I really loved the art and it's my favorite pokemon. Raw at the time was like $10 and for the sgc 10gm was only $40 and im blown away that psa 10 are going for $5k+. Realistically how much would an sgc 10 go for?

Sell or hold
Just came across this when cleaning out my parents basement. Seeing how much it’s gone up the past few years should I sell now or hold it? I’ve been out of Pokemon for a long time so I’m unaware of the chase cards. Thank you

Are Pokemon gold star cards a good investment for the long term? If so, what is a good gold star to buy?
Thank you for your opinion.

I made a Chrome extension to help people avoid missing claim sales and auction endings from Facebook
Hi! I built a free Chrome extension called Claim & Auction Sale Reminder.
You can add a claim/auction sale, enter the start/end time and a link of the Facebook post, then receive a reminder at exact time or beforehand.
I made this personal project because it’s easy to lose track of claim/auction sales on Facebook, even if you comment 'F' and you don't get any notifications!
I’d love to hear your feedback or suggestions

Abra Kadabra 151 Cosmos Holo
Was wondering if these Kadabra Abra cosmos holo cards are worth holding onto especially after this was the first time they were reprinted after 20 years
