The first few pilots would not have years of cadet training, and would have to be pulled from existing areas. I know that the lore has scientists and test pilots as the prototype pilots, but I’m not so sure these would make the best candidates for a sustained jaeger fighting force.

Personally, I think young navy seal officers would make the best initial jaeger pilot force due to a number of reasons:

1. Elite close combat training and experience.
   
2. Unbreakable will and calm under pressure.
   
3. Physical fitness
   
4. Drift compatibility because seal officers work in pairs to lead seal platoons.
   
5. Education: All seal officers hold at least undergrad degrees and most are in STEM fields.
   
6. Water competence and naval experience: Kaiju and jaegers are often in water.

Test pilots share many of these attributes too, and would likely be better for jaeger testing. However, in my opinion, actually piloting the jaeger and engaging in combat would best suit seal officers.

I made these very recently all though they are unfinished they are basically almost complete I started with my favorite jaegers being from this order horizon brave,tacit ronin,Romeo blue,coyote tango and cherno alpha.

Materials:they are made of foam clay so it makes them look soft and the articulation is done with LEGO and titan13 scrap pieces,the titan 13 pieces are used only for the shoulders the rest is just LEGO.

Articulation: they have a full ab crunch,head can tilt and move in any angle thanks to a ball joint,full t-pose can be done,full waist rotation,thigh rotation,bicep rotation,articulated waist,full split can also be done,articulated fingers too,full wrist articulation,they can be disassembled with ease they are also sturdy,unfortunately no double joint in the arms and legs but they are still very flexible and can pose in almost any position.

abilities:coyote tango has articulated mortar cannons,tacit ronin can deploy his blades,Romeo blue has articulated thrusters and both tacit ronin and coyote tango have articulated shoulder pads done with a tooth pick to increase the posing.

Accuracy:they are not the most detailed or accurate since I couldn’t do many of the details since they are quite small.

Carbon dating failed.

Every test returned the same result.

"OLDER THAN THE EARTH."

Scientists laughed.

The report was discarded.

Until they translated the symbols.

There were no continents.

No countries.

No oceans.

Only one enormous circle...

Surrounding the Pacific.

At its center...

One symbol.

The same symbol engraved inside Jericho Noir's cockpit.

Beneath it...

A sentence.

"THE LAST WALL."

No one knew what it meant.

Until the bridge appeared.

For centuries...

The bridge had remained invisible beneath the Pacific.

Hidden beneath impossible water.

Now...

It stretched across the ocean.

Transparent.

Endless.

Jericho Noir had never been standing in deep water.

It had been standing...

On the bridge.

Waiting.

The bridge wasn't built for humans.

It was too wide.

Too strong.

Too old.

Its destination...

Was unknown.

PPDC launched twelve reconnaissance drones.

Only one transmitted footage.

The bridge extended into darkness.

No horizon.

No end.

Exactly 312 kilometers ahead...

The drone found something.

A gate.

Not mechanical.

Not natural.

Two enormous pillars rose into the sky.

Each one disappearing beyond the clouds.

Between them...

Nothing.

Yet every instrument insisted...

Something enormous...

Was standing in the empty space.

The drone approached.

Its camera began distorting.

Static.

Missing frames.

Then...

One clear image.

A hand.

Not human.

Not Kaiju.

Resting gently against the invisible barrier.

Waiting.

The drone exploded.

No debris was recovered.

At 19:04 UTC...

Every Bell rang.

Not once.

Twice.

Across the globe...

People collapsed.

Some cried.

Some laughed.

Some whispered names they had never heard before.

Jericho Noir moved.

Not one step.

Three.

Each impact echoed through the bridge.

The ocean shook.

Not from earthquakes.

From resonance.

The bridge...

Was responding.

The reactor climbed again.

25%.

The amber visor burned brighter than the Sun.

For the first time...

The Jaeger spoke.

Not through speakers.

Through the Drift.

Every surviving Jaeger pilot heard the same sentence.

"Remain behind me."

Some had retired years earlier.

Some hadn't entered a Drift in decades.

It didn't matter.

The message reached them all.

Then...

Another voice answered.

Deeper.

Older.

It came...

From beyond the gate.

"Move."

Jericho Noir didn't.

For nearly one minute...

Nothing happened.

Then...

The invisible barrier cracked.

Only once.

A fracture no larger than a human hand.

Yet...

Something reached through.

One finger.

Black.

Ancient.

Impossible.

The ocean around the bridge instantly froze.

Not into ice.

Into stillness.

Even time...

Seemed to hesitate.

Then Jericho Noir raised its left arm.

The shield unfolded for the first time in recorded history.

The crack...

Stopped growing.

But it did not close.

CHAPTER XVI — THE NAME OF THE KING

I'm currently trying to find the pdf version of this book that is no longer sold. I tried contacting the creators (Evil Genius Games) and they don't plan on re-releasing this as their license to Pacific Rim has expired with no plans on renewing it. I want to get my hands on this so I can run a one shot with some online friends. Any help would be appreciated. I'm willing to pay if anyone has this. I know this is a long shot but this is legit my only hope asking on Reddit.

Shaolin Rouge was built and launched on May 6, 2017 as the fifth Mark-3 Jaeger after Gypsy Danger, Lord Azrael, Matador Fury and Atlas Destroyer. It was the smallest of the entire Earth United Defence Corps Jaeger Fleet, being just 215 feet tall. But Shaolin had a unique skill; it was one of 3 Jaegers to be designed for Underwater Combat, the others being the Australian Mark-3 Vulcan Specter and the Japanese Mark-5 Katana Indigo.

Shaolin was assigned to the Hong Kong Shatterdome, joining Chinese Mark-1 Horizon Brave, Chinese Mark-2 Silver Lion, and eventually, other Chinese Jaegers. But it often found itself teaming with either its fellow Chinese Jaegers, or anyone who was available.

Shaolin was later teamed with the Mark-1 Russian Jaeger Cherno Alpha and the Mark-4 Korean Jaeger Nova Hyperion to form the B-Team when the Jaegers were being grouped into Triple Teams.

China raised the bar in Jaeger-dancing when Shaolin was launched. The smallest, lightest, and most maneuverable mech yet did the coffee grinder dance.

Shaolin’s first recorded Deployment saw it and the Japanese Mark-1 Coyote Tango deployed to Kobe to take on the Category-3 Kaiju Mutilator, but the Kaiju ended up running and made a beeline for Japan. Their plan ended up buying the Chinese Mark-4 Jaeger Crimson Typhoon, Cherno Alpha and Australian Mark-5 Jaeger Striker Eureka just enough time to get in front it the Kaiju in Osaka Bay.

The lights on them weren't turning on and I finally got my hands on my laptop again so I could edit the photos with some actual software instead.

Changed up the first image to have cherno downed by otachi's acid (at least she fought them in her element ig). In this version, the kaiju made landfall and cherno survived to make it to the city as well.

As I said, lights were non-functional so I had to draw in the visor and the reactor manually (images 4-6 for a reference as to what the lights looked like).

Was tryna mimic the Romeo blue nvg scene in the movie intro with the third image. Too much empty space and random reflections in the background so I had leatherback toss cherno at gipsy to block all the background elements.

Didn't have a mouse so I drew every visor, building, camera UI & reactor with a faulty touchpad so it's not my best work.

Every observatory on Earth lost sight of the stars.

Not because of clouds.

Because...

They were gone.

The sky remained blue.

The Sun continued to shine.

But beyond the atmosphere...

Nothing.

Astronomers described it as...

"Looking into a room where someone turned off the universe."

The phenomenon lasted exactly three minutes.

When the stars returned...

One constellation had changed.

No telescope could identify it.

No ancient civilization had ever recorded it.

It shouldn't have existed.

The PPDC dismissed the event.

Until Jericho Noir moved.

For the first time since its disappearance...

The Jaeger looked away from the Pacific.

It looked...

Straight upward.

Satellite footage showed something impossible.

Its visor dimmed.

Not from failure.

From recognition.

As though...

It had seen this before.

At 14:29 UTC...

A civilian weather balloon transmitted an image before contact was lost.

The image showed clear blue sky.

Nothing unusual.

Until investigators increased the contrast.

There...

Hidden above the clouds...

Was a door.

Not made of metal.

Not made of stone.

A crack.

Stretching across the atmosphere.

So large...

It crossed continents.

Nobody on the ground could see it.

Only cameras.

For seventeen minutes...

The crack slowly widened.

Then...

It blinked.

Not opened.

Blinked.

The weather balloon fell from 31 kilometers.

No explosion.

No mechanical failure.

It simply...

Stopped existing.

Pieces of it were never found.

At the exact same moment...

The Bell rang.

Once.

Jericho Noir's reactor climbed to 18%.

The Jaeger took another step.

Not into the ocean.

Onto something.

Satellite imagery clearly showed its foot pressing against empty water.

Except...

The water didn't move.

Researchers enlarged the image.

There was a surface beneath the waves.

Transparent.

Older than the ocean itself.

A bridge.

One that should not exist.

One that had been hidden...

For thousands of years.

Across the Pacific...

The Red Tide retreated from its edges.

Not because it was disappearing.

Because it was making room.

Military satellites detected movement above Earth's atmosphere.

Not spacecraft.

Not asteroids.

Shapes.

Standing perfectly still.

There were twelve.

Each one larger than the International Space Station.

None emitted heat.

None reflected sunlight.

They simply...

Watched.

No government announced their existence.

Because no government remembered seeing them.

Only one person did.

The Archivist.

Security footage showed him standing outside the abandoned PPDC Headquarters.

Looking at the sky.

Holding the photograph of the faceless pilot.

He quietly said...

"You're too early."

A child's voice answered.

No child appeared on the recording.

"No..."

A pause.

"We're late."

The recording ended.

That night...

For the first time in human history...

The Black Siren...

Stopped forever.

The silence that followed...

Was far worse.

Historically, most major powers/nations have put tons of of effort into making their weapons (particularly things like tanks, warships, war-planes, etc.) as easy to mass produce as possible, the need for which was proven in WW2 when German armored vehicles like the Panzer IV, Panther, Tiger 1, although arguably better than allied tanks, were simply too complicated to mass produce while allied tanks like the M4 Sherman, T-34 etc. were the opposite. Ultimately, the numbers game prevailed as the Germans were simply unable to outproduce the allies.

More importantly than victory, in places like the Eastern Front, the ability to produce ridiculous numbers of tanks, guns, aircraft, artillery etc. saved the Soviet Union because in spite of their monumental losses in equipment at the earlier stage of the Nazi invasion, they could survive partly because they were able to simply replace their losses.

In the world of Pacific Rim, where the construction of Jaegers had been so much more crucial than any other arms race in history, why the world/PPDC build so many different and distinct types of Jaegers, driving up the costs of not development but also maintenance to the point where the Jaeger Program got cancelled and the world was left with only 4 Jaegers?

When the entire world had pooled in its resources to build these things, surely it was possible to make one or a couple of ultra-modular Jaegers that could be constantly, quickly, and cheaply modernized and upgraded such as tanks like the M4 Sherman or M1 Abrams, whose modularity still kept them in service decades after their development.

What advantages did making so many distinct Jaegers have over making mass-produceable, easy to upgrade ones like the drone Jaegers in Pacific Rim: Uprising (assume this movie exists and is canon)?

1. This is a Mark-4 Jaeger with good speed and power. The name is Prime Horizon

So, yeah. My hot take on Pacific Rim Uprising is that it's not a sequel and was never a sequel. We're told it happens in the world of the original Pacific Rim, but almost nothing is done to show it; in fact, the Mech and Monster Designs run counter to the philosophy of the original, and none of the confirmed people doing the real work behind the scenes for Pacific Rim are ever confirmed for Uprising.

So, Pacific Rim Uprising is just Fanfiction with a Hollywood Budget.

Hey everyone, just want to share my LEGO Gipsy Danger idea has reached 10k supporters. Happy to say it is the first and further we got to tell LEGO we want a LEGO set from pacific rim. What is next? Look out for a final decision from LEGO near end of the year to find out if they wanted to bring this idea to life. Also, this should be the year with 2 Gipsy Danger idea and 1 from another creation @cosmicnomad. We are breaking records!

This is a burning question I've had for a while now. Yes Striker was extremely costly, but it was also extremely effective. If you've already spend the money on it and it's the best thing you have, why would you retire it before something like Vulcan Specter? The best I can come up with here is that maybe the operating costs were considerably higher for Striker than they were for any other Jaeger, but even that seems like a weak explanation.

As for if Striker had been kept in service and they had retired Vulcan instead, I think most of us know what probably would have happened when Mutavore attacked Sydney. Striker would have killed it with help from Echo Saber (maybe Echo gets destroyed or maybe it doesn't), but that leaves Vulcan to be hauled off to Hong Kong alongside Striker (and Echo as well if it survived). Bottom line that lowers the stakes for the rest of the film (really almost the entire film since Striker's solo deployment against Mutavore could well be considered a Hail Mary before going nuclear), so maybe this was just a convenient way to get rid of two Jaegers that were less advanced than Striker but could have served as force multipliers had they been present. More Jaegers also means more backstories to fill out to some extent, which could have interrupted the flow of the film and made it unnecessarily long.

Hey guys, I wanted to share my custom NECA Cherno Alpha project.

Anyone who owns the original NECA Cherno Alpha knows that it has some amazing details, but also some really frustrating flaws—especially that ridiculously wide pelvis/hip structure. I decided to completely overhaul it and fix all its issues.

Here is what I did for this heavy custom build:

1. Hip Joint Fix: I absolutely hated the factory proportions of the wide hips. So I completely cut out the stock joints, scratch-built a brand new custom joint mechanism from the ground up, and reassembled the pelvis to give it a much more natural and menacing stance.
2. Hands Upgrade: The stock hands were way too limited. I replaced them by retrofitting a 1/60 scale fully articulated hands kit (every single joint moves). Now it can stretch out its fingers and pose perfectly.
3. LED Transplantation & Upgrade: I used a damaged LED-version Cherno Alpha as a donor. I carefully carved out the original LED unit using an art knife, drilled new precise holes with a pin vise, and successfully grafted the working electronics into this figure. Plus, I did some extra custom wiring to upgrade and tweak the LED light effects to make it shine even better.
4. Detail Painting: To finish it off, I did a lot of selective detail/partial painting across the armor plates to really make the mechanical parts pop and bring out that industrial, heavy-metal Jaeger vibe.

Just for reference, the base figure I used for this build is the old/original version of the NECA Cherno Alpha.

It took a lot of cutting, drilling, and custom engineering, but I'm incredibly happy with how badass and structurally accurate it looks now.
