I know silly question. But I would like to keep it a secret that I’m using a pro cause my friends all playing on base and mocking ppl that using pro. Just don’t want any beef if they are noticing that I’m using a ps5 pro. So are there any hints or info on my profile that I’m using a pro?

Hello everyone. I’m from Ukraine and I’m trying to diagnose a PS5 Pro CFI-7000 that suddenly shut down while running a relatively undemanding PS4 game.

The console has only around 250 hours of use. Because of the war, power outages and the general situation, I barely had the opportunity or state of mind to play. Unfortunately, the warranty has now expired.

The repair situation here is also extremely difficult. The main official PlayStation service centre in Ukraine was destroyed during a missile strike, and there is currently no functioning official repair option available to me. Sony’s out-of-warranty service is described as an exchange for a refurbished console rather than a repair of my own unit. Replacing the console is also very expensive here, so I am trying to save this one.

Symptoms

• The console beeps and shows a blue light.
• The fan starts spinning.
• After 1–2 seconds, all power is cut.
• The blue light goes out and the fan stops.
• It never reaches the white light.
• Safe Mode is impossible because it shuts down before the second beep.

There was no burning smell, unusual noise, visible dust or previous overheating.

I have already removed the additional M.2 SSD and detachable Blu-ray drive, disconnected every cable and accessory, tested it with only the power cable connected, left it unplugged for more than 24 hours and held the power button for 60 seconds while unplugged. Nothing changed.

The console was connected through a high-quality voltage stabilizer and battery backup because power fluctuations are common here.

An experienced private technician checked the board:

• No visible damage.
• No obvious short circuits.
• Static voltages and resistance measurements appear normal.
• A known-good PSU has not yet been confirmed as a test.

The UART log shows:

• 80810001 — General Power Failure / Power Sequence Error.
• 80000009 — Unexpected Power Loss or Shutdown Failure.
• 80800022 — No/Bad Communication Between APU and RAM. This appears only occasionally.
• 80801002 — High-priority error not found in the Console Service Tool database. This repeats across many startup attempts.

One raw 80801002 entry is:

Other attempts contain the same FF100005 10000100 2013 0036 sequence but different trailing values.

Could 80801002 be a PS5 Pro-specific code related to the additional 2 GB DDR5 system-memory chip, its power rail, Southbridge or another power-sequencing circuit? The intermittent 80800022 may be a secondary result rather than the primary fault.

Has anyone encountered 80801002 on a PS5 Pro or knows how to interpret the additional raw values? Would testing with a known-good PSU still be the first step, or should the technician focus on motherboard power sequencing and the DDR5/GDDR6 rails?

I will attach screenshots of the complete UART logs. Any board-level advice would mean a lot to me.

Hello, I wanted to see how well does a Omen Monitor 2560x1440 240hz refresh rate play? Is it the best way to game what do you all think just for my first ps5 pro wanted to try it out

I have been playing on the base PS5 since 2021. I recently got a PS5 Pro. I've seen many people say on this subreddit that if you don't have a 120Hz TV, that you can barely notice the difference from the base PS5.

Let me tell you that the difference, even on a 60Hz TV is day and night.

Obviously the 120Hz TV makes the console even better. I will upgrade my TV on Black Friday most likely.

Did you also not really like the feel of the controller in terms of its symmetrical analog sticks but ended up getting used to it? Also Gears E-Day being an Xbox exclusive is holding me back as well. If it isn’t obvious, I have been an Xbox gamer. Btw, haven’t played video games in like 3 years, don’t own any of the current-gen consoles yet.

USwalmart.com- Walmart is selling brand new pulse explorers as “open box”. Not sure why they’re doing it this way. But if you missed Walmart $99 sale on these don’t hesitate now! As of this am there are 3left and most likely will have more! Edit: paired super easy to my PRO. I like that it can be connected to my phone and console simultaneously.

I'm think of trying it out, but I've heard it struggled on consoles, especially in the late game. How consistent is its 60fps mode these days?

After playing wukong and old country on the base original PS5, and encountering performance issues, I was wondering if an upgrade to a pro would fix such fps drops and stuttering.

Are these games not well optimized or is it my PS5 that needs to be upgraded.

As you all know, GTA 6 is coming out and I know that rockstar will optimize the shit out of it but still. What do you guys think.

First light look mind blowing 🤯

I only played for an hour with the original in the ps3 era and stopped because it was giving me horrible motion sickness. Apparently the ps3 version had horrible frame pacing, that dipped regularly to 20 fps. Now we have this glorious version of the game, 60 fps, beautiful RTGI and HDR and I’m kinda glad I waited to play it this way. This game is on the money.

Anyone else getting a brief pause whenever the game autosaves? I'm playing in Quality 60fps mode. It's not a big deal, just something I notice. I also get this brief pause when playing Cyberpunk 2077 when the game autosaves.

OG PS5 still here too, if I feel like it, over the weekend I may compare Halo on the 2 and see just how much Pro enhanced actually helps

I’ve been wanting a ps5 pro for over a year now. I have the base model which was good enough, but I wanted to upgrade since I bought a 4k mini led monitor. I was fishing around for a secondary console and almost spend 800 on a ps5 pro with no controller until I broaden my offer up radius miles and low and behold I found this deal a hour away he agreed to meet me halfway for 760! It came with a ps5 pro, two controllers, atrix dual dock, black shark V3 X Hs razor headset , and to top it off I check the storage and there was seagate firecuda 530 1tb applied to the console so I have a little less then 3tb. I can’t believe how much this guy hooked me up for only 760!! A ps5 pro alone is 900+tax. How much did I save ? What games do yall recommended to take advantage of my new system!?

I have a PS5 pro, managed to grab an edge today for £122 (38% off RRP) brand new from a reputable retailer (box just damaged).

I just purchased this on impulse as there were just 2 in stock. so wanted to know people who have them or have used them, it is worth the extra £? Or should I just sell/return and keep using my standard controller?

Given the recent news on all digital. PS5 Pro could likely my last, or if not, going to try get many years out of it and finally get through my back catalogue before upgrading to a Pro in like 7 years.

What route did you end up taking?
Did you sell your PS5 yourself (Facebook Marketplace, eBay, etc.), trade it in at GameStop or another store, or even sell it to a pawn shop?
I’m curious what worked best for you and how much you were able to get back for your standard PS5 to help pay for the Pro.

I haven’t played on a PlayStation in 10 years. I recently bought a PS5 Pro, and I’m having a hard time aiming smoothly with the analog sticks in FPS games. My aim feels jerky and inconsistent, and I struggle to make small, precise adjustments.
