Four young children from an orphanage in Japan are now in Hawaii, ready for an invaluable cultural exchange. They arrived from Osaka’s Holy Family Orphanage Tuesday. Members of the U.S. Army’s 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment — the “Wolfhounds” — greeted them with lei.

Osaka JaLS

Hey! I’m considering studying at Osaka JaLS and wanted to hear from anyone who has attended. What was your overall experience like with the classes, teachers, activities, atmosphere, and accommodation? Did you feel like your Japanese improved, and was the program worth the cost? I’d appreciate any honest opinions or advice before applying.

Thank you for any advice/recommendation/warning!

Since my Japanese is still at a beginner level trying to look up the legitimacy of a store I am about to do business with.

Any inputs about legitimacy and reliability of this store?

Japanese locals suffer

Upvotes

Cheap yen seems like a bargain for tourists, but Japanese locals suffer. Record import costs drive inflation, slash real wages, and cause bankruptcies. People are tired — don't expect the old cheerful 'omotenashi'. It benefits visitors but hurts ordinary Japanese daily. Yet, the Sanae Takaichi administration is helpless to address this, allowing the situation to persist; why hasn't such an incompetent government stepped down yet?
