Viví en Kyoto tres meses de mi vida, pero nunca podre olvidar el maravilloso lugar que me acogió con los brazos abiertos. Un lugar donde el alma se levanta.

📍 Outside Eizan Demachiyanagi Station
💴 ¥500 for fireworks and Meetup costs
🥤 BYO drinks and snacks
Meetup group is called "Kamogawa Spanish Club" but is mostly japanese and international people just chilling together. Coming alone is completely fine!

So it’s been in my head for a while but I keep thinking about this John Buta dono thing in Kurumazaki Shrine near Arashiyama (or randen Kurumazaki shrine). Like, is this someone’s actual name, a band, a celebrity?? or is it John Pork but in Japanese. Please I need to know who donated this…. and why…..

Hello everybody!
I'm currently traveling on the bullet train to Kyoto, and wouldn't you know it, something feel on my Samsung S9 Tablet and cracked the interior display, which rendered it unusable.
Do you have recommendations for shops that might be able to repair it in a day or two? With a genuine OLED screen? I am happy about any recommendations, as I need it to finish some important work related tasks.
I am sorry to clutter your subreddit, I am trying to find a solution to my problem and focus on enjoying Kyoto! I'm a foreign visitor, if that helps!

hey guys, is there anyone queer in kyoto who wants to be friends and just explore the city and maybe queer night life a little? I'm 19 ftm, gay and while I love my straight homies in the sharehouse I really miss some queer connections!!
Hello guys,
I wanted to know if there is any league of legends fans that are down for watching together the EWC T1 vs KC.
Idk where we can watch it ! I'm not from here so i'm okay with all your proposition !
If we are a lot of foreigner and Japanese it can be cool !
I understand it will be hard finding league of legends fan in Japan ! Idk why but it's popular in korea and china but not here ?

Hi everyone
Do you know that famous guy in Yokohama that engrave stuff on the camera and stuff ? Do you know if I can find any in Kyoto ?
Hi everyone,
I just arrived in Kyoto today on my vacation from Germany.
This morning, I was standing in Yodobashi Camera looking a bit lost when a local girl approached me, helped me out, and we chatted briefly.
Funnily enough, we ran into each other again on the street later today, and she asked if I ended up finding what I was looking for.
In the rush, I completely forgot to ask for her Instagram or if she'd like to do something here.
If you happen to see this: Thanks again for being so incredibly Kind on my first day here. If you're down, I'd love to talk a bit more and properly thank you.
Either way, I'm already enjoying Kyoto!
It's my friend's birthday, and I ordered a gift for him. However, I don't know of a place that offers nice gift wrapping in Kyoto or near Kyoto University.

My Japanese is limited, but I should be able to communicate relevant information such as my estimated strength (mid SDK). I know basic Go etiquette when playing, but not necessarily how it works in places such as these.
For example: I see that in general, prices to just play are a few hundred yen; but is this price per game or per "seat" or "table"?
Any other advice?

Hi, so I'm an international student finishing my semester in Kyoto and I need to sell my bike. I tried listing it on sayonara sales but I don't think it posted. I tried two times idk if to try again. What are some other good ways to get rid of it asap while still getting some money back?

Hi! I'm looking for an affordable salon in Kyoto that does good keratin (or smoothing) treatments for naturally wavy/curly hair (2C–3A). I'd love recommendations from anyone who's had a good experience, especially if the stylist is experienced with textured hair. If you know the approximate price or whether they speak some English, that would be really helpful. Thanks

I don't speak Japanese well and I need to move apartments within Kyoto (about a 7 min car ride) does someone know a foreigner friendly company?

Anyone have a lowkey cafe for a date in Kyoto? My usual spot near 大宮駅 will be closed on the day so trying to find a replacement. Ideally not super busy cause we’re trying to talk and get to know each other yanno, first date vibes
I don’t need like life changing coffee or anything, and food doesn’t matter, I just need it not to be bad and have a good vibe for chats over coffee or tea
Will probs wind up walking down 鴨川 afterwards, so anywhere close enough to either walk or quick train to that would be great but if not we can find somewhere else to walk x

I’m going to start studying at KICL next year, and I’d like to clear up a few questions.
Is it easy to find a part-time job (*arubaito*) in Kyoto? I imagine it’s harder than in Tokyo, but just how much harder is it, or is it relatively straightforward?
Also, if I want to stay in Japan and work after the course, is that possible in Kyoto?

Hello friends, I’m trying luck here - is there any photographer based in Kyoto who could take professional photos of restored Machiya? I’m also looking for person for longer-term cooperation, since we will need more photos for Instagram and so on.
Please ping me here and share your portfolio if you can 🙂
Thank you very much!

Hey everyone!
I'm a student studying in Kyoto and I'm conducting a research project on how residents and long-term locals interact with their city and its tourist sites.
As part of my research, I've created a very short survey (about 1–2 minutes) to collect quantitative data. If you currently live in Kyoto, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to fill it out. I would be very greatful!
日本語での回答も歓迎です。ご協力いただけますと幸いです。
If there are any interesting findings and interest I might share some results.
Cheers everyone

Its our first real Japanese summer holiday here (from end of July to October) and we are not planning to travel much out of Japan.. and maybe stay in Kyoto? What do you usually do? What are your fav things to do to beat the heat?
Anyone have a good place to shorten the hem of some shorts? The place I go to is quite expensive and takes over a week (and the hem came undone a few days after), hoping to get recent recommendations here!
Thank you.
