Hey everyone. I got this question in my mind for a while now, but I was wondering whether OpenMW uses some in-house .nif parser, or some external library?

I'm entirely foreign to C++ ecosystem so can't tell whether such thing as .nif parser actually exists. Logic says it should considering how long the format has been in use, but it's also quite niche and also I can see merits in bundling custom parser for OMW use given scope of the project

Is there a solution to having the water appear pink? I'm on a Macbook Air M1 with the latest version of OpenMW.

Hello! I decided today to download again morrowind but without the trouble of getting It modded up, so I looked up some modpacks. OpenMW and TSK were the places to go and so there I went. I installed Open MW, TSK, a modpack (I-heart-vanilla-directors-cut) and started playing around. As I was playing I noticed that some mods (weapon sheathing as a prime example) didn’t show up. Diggin up I went to the settings and started tweaking the settings (including wpn sheathing). Returned to the game and nothing. Even tried to start anew but couldn’t get any progress. Please help me If you can. I’m so close to playing but my OCD scratches my brain and can’t let me enjoy the game fully knowing that I’m missing some parts. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

So i've installed OpenMW and downloaded all the mods from the list that i want, now i'm on "The Final Steps" (At least i think thats where i'm supposed to be now) and all the text i'm reading over and over is confusing the hell out of me.
If someone can dumb it down for my swit brain i would really really appreciate it, Thank you.

So over the past couple of weeks OpenMW keeps coming up in Discover as needing an update. And always at *exactly* 54.1 MB. Does this mean that the original update has simply failed to apply, if so, why does it take a few days to return and say it needs to update again?

And if these are all real and necessary updates, why are they always the same size? That one is not a diagnostic question, but entirely out of curiosity.

So I decided to use OpenMW and I downloaded some mods. Mods like Morrowind Rebirth and Tamriel Rebuilt plus some graphics mods and Rafael's Shader Pack. But as soon as I start a new game it's night once I leave the ship and the the land has disappeared with no guard to greet me. On top of that the menus are broken and the options menu empty. Also certain mods refuse to work like Better Bodies. I tred playing without Rebirth and it works but Aethesia's ground cover doesn't work nor any of my other graphics mods except Rafael's Shader Pack. I don't know what's going on but I've never had a problem running Morrowind Rebirth or other mods when running OpenMW. I know TR and Morrowind Rebirth aren't supposed to work together but I've never had a problem like this.

Someone asked this 4 years ago. I wanted to know if there are any updates.

I'm playing as a cartographer, and I would like to slightly tweak this setting.

Regular Morrowind does not have this exploit where the inventory changes between reloading saves. What did you do to prevent this in your game?

Also some items automatically restock when I buy them. Like the cheap low level enchants like "life belt".

I've been having a fun time with Kimi 3 and OpenMW optimizing my frame rate for my monitor and editing my favorite mods to make them even better. Now I'm starting to think I might as well start making the mods I want to play.

I know enough about what I'm seeing in Lua or editing settings .cfg that I'm not blindly copy-pasting, but I am not a coder at all and don't know the unwritten rules around sharing forks of mods, crediting ai models, authorship issues etc. I don't want to disrespect creators who know what they're doing.

So I wonder, is there a group or forum specifically on AI coding with openmw, where people share creations/forks/advice/etiquette?

I recently switched from windows to Mac. Obviously Morrowind is one of the first things I’m downloading. ChatGpt was a big help to with the process of getting OpenMW downloaded and working.

Heard about the starwind conversion mod and wanted to try it. I've got the openMW data directories set, the order loads the other DLCs, then starwind.
It boots up, when I start a new game I still get the original MW cutscene instead of the starwars text crawl, but I do start on a spaceship talking to some soldier. As soon as I leave the conversation a popup tells me to select my race, but no menus open and everything locks up. I can't move, I can't name myself, I can't even open the console. Does anyone know how to fix this?
