Normandy Beach in Medal of Honor Allied Assault hits different in VR. Dang I forgot how hard this game can be. I'm loving this vibe coded VR mod so far. I just finished fixing aiming and I'm adding a floating crosshair to make it a but easier to aim. Oh and crouching works now haha. I needed it for this level.

Fluff Quest 3S surprised me!

I feel like I have enough time with the Quest 3 to say that if you ever considered quest 3S as your first headset? Go for it. Even more if you go second hand or refurbished. I just got a second unit(along side my 3) for occasional multiplayer but also for testing with when developing my truck game. (Got it second hand, and people are literally "giving them away" pricewise)

I know people are quick to tell you that you should get the Quest 3, but if you cant side by side compare both headsets, which i did countless times last night back and forth running bonelab. Apart from the apparent sharpness and pancake lenses they're not far apart when jumping between them.

Also it does everything that the 3 does and the passthrough feels identical to my eyes.

Added bonus is the use in the dark feature that 3S has up its sleeve, work very well in pitch black room.

I found myself actually using it yesterday. Though I was gonna have it stand by when I needed it. But the experience was far better than I expected.

If you're ever on the fence.. budget is tight.. or you just want to test the waters not gambling on a purchase, 3S will absolutely suffice. And better yet it will not bring you a lesser experience even though opinions around the matter might be very loud and pro-quest 3.

Discussion Is a quest 3 still worth it in 2026?

Hi all,
I’ve never really used VR much as a whole, but the few times I have, I have loved it. Recently I’ve been considering purchasing the meta quest 3, since it seems that’s the one most people recommend at that price point.

However, I have also heard that a lot of people are disappointed with meta’s support with it as of late, as well as with the relatively recent price bump.

I’d consider the quest 3s, although having the clearest vision seems like it should be a priority in my opinion.

I still think that it would have many use cases for me, especially with gaming (I own a decent PC so PCVR is an option). I know there has probably been a billion posts similar to this since it seems like it would be a common question, but I’d love to hear some opinions from actual quest owners!

Edit: Thanks for all of the opinions. To be specific, my PC is an RTX 5080 and 7800X3D build. Also to clarify, I am interested in watching movies, fitness, desktops, etc as well- gaming is just one of my main focuses.

Discussion What do you actually want in the next Quest device?

As a dev, the one I would kill for is passthrough camera clarity. Sharper, less grainy cameras would open up so much for mixed reality games. Right now the noise really limits what we can build for MR. Throw in proper depth sensing for occlusion and it would be a different world.
I also want more GPU headroom. Quest 3 already runs some genuinely heavy graphics standalone. Push that further and we could ship stuff that actually looks close to PCVR without the cable.
Eye tracking with foveated rendering would help here too. Gives us a lot more room to work with.
But honestly the biggest one for me is weight. I don’t even care if we have to run a wired battery down to a pack in our pocket. Just make the headset itself light enough to wear for a full session without the neck strain. Comfort beats specs at this point.

What’s on your list?

Scan it, prompt it, (grab a coffee,) play it.

The 2Sync SDK scans the space and decides where everything is and how big it can be. GenAI takes over the look: a language model plans the scene, Rodin Gen2.5 generates a matching 3D model for every real object, and Blockade Labsdelivers the skybox.

Full transparency: It currently takes about 30 minutes to go from "prompt" to "play", and the generated models are, of course, not perfect yet. But both are improving rapidly. The exciting part is that the entire pipeline already works today.

But that's not the point. I described a world in one sentence and my terrace became it. Our SDK understands the environment. Together with AI, it builds the experience.

More worlds in the pipeline. What would you prompt your room into? 🙂

Discussion LivingFray (creator of the Halo CE VR Mod) has also been working on a mod for Halo: MCC, if you have the skills in programming/reverse engineering you are welcome to contribute to the project!

The scope of the mod is to port each Halo game to VR one at a time, with the current focus being to get Halo 2 working in VR with its original graphics. Once the game is in a good enough state the focus will move on to the next Halo title, and then the next one until every game has been ported to VR.

Halo CE VR is a mod that benefited a lot from community contributions and that was only after it had been released, imagine how good the mod can be if everyone can help out from the beginning

Here's a link to the repo with a list of missing features that are left to be finished: https://github.com/LivingFray/ForerunnerVR

Support - Resolved i got an amazon renewed meta quest 2, did i screw up?

as the title states, i ordered a meta quest 2 through amazon and thought i could save some money by getting an amazon renewed version. after opening the amazon package, it didnt have any branded packaging but i expected that with an amazon renewed. but what i wasnt expecting, was when i go to plug it in the red light does not appear. it did for a moment, but it dissapeared shortly after (maybe a few seconds) . i have tried a separate cable and separate charging block, also changing where i tried charging it at and still nothing
i spent about $350 on this, and for it to just not even accept being charged is pretty frustrating. should i just return it and buy a new one? and new being condition, brand new instead of amazon renewed.

Support - Resolved Someone please help me with Quest link

Solution: dont use quest link, use ALVR. After a conversation with the meta support bot it boiled down to some sort of software issue that was unresolvable so the only solution is to not use link. However after a recomendation by a very kind person i was able to use ALVR for sevral hours of gameplay and no issues. It takes a bit of messing around with the settings but it works way better than meta horizon link.

ive been trying to solve this issue for a while and ive tried everything short of getting a new hedset. This issue started happening suddenly for no apparent reason and i cant fix it. The link will run fine for a time, the gpu sitting around 50%-60%, then it just goes to hell. The strangest part of when this happens is that the headset does the weird thing but the game still recives inputs from the controlers and headset, And when i press the meta button it brings me to the regular quest home and not the quest link home, and when i disconect the cable the meta horizon progam still thinks the headset is connected. I dont know what do do anymore please help.

Support - PCVR Advice on wireless pcvr gear (steam link)

Hello Everyone!

I'm looking into actually doing wireless pcvr, as so far I've mainly been sim racing when doing any form of pcvr so I put off setting up wireless stuff. When I look for what specs to look for in a router etc I seen like 5 different answers, so I need a solid answer before I bite the bullet on the gear for it.

Currently I'm looking at a GL.iNet opal router, which advertises a 5ghz speed of 867Mbps, which I've seen some people say is good, and others saying to get ones that hit the quest 2's limit (which if I got the right info is 1200Mbps?). Would 867 be enough, as I don't have overally much money to spend and the opal is about as good of a deal as I can find ($60AUD) compared to having to step up to $100AUD for just about anything else. I'm also gonna use steam link if that makes any impact on requirements.

Any other info surronding setting up wireless pcvr for the first time would also be massively helpful!

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone Shatter Flow - My Upcoming VR Destruction Game (Early Access in August!)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!
I’m working on a new VR project called Shatter Flow, and I just posted a short video showcasing the latest gameplay. It’s a physics‑driven destruction experience where you can smash, slice, punch, and break objects in super satisfying ways. Think of it as a mix of chaotic sandbox fun + fast, reactive physics.

Shatter Flow is planned to go live in August for Early Access, and I’m polishing the core mechanics right now destruction systems, rhythm‑based modes, boxing interactions, and performance tuning for Quest.

I’d really appreciate any feedback from the VR/indie dev community.

  • Does the destruction feel satisfying?
  • Anything you’d like to see added?
  • Any rough edges you noticed in the video?

I’m building this solo, so every bit of input helps me shape the Early Access launch. Thanks for checking it out!

Video is attached let me know what you think!

Discussion Did anyone else’s oculus quests suddenly stop wanting to connect to wifi after the update??

I’m just wondering how many other people had this issue of the wifi connections suddenly being refused with the very infuriating “check password and try again” message. And if someone‘s genius has figured out the solution. (I have a quest 2)

Support - Standalone Black screen following boot up

Hi all,

I recently acquired a pre owned Quest 3 headset. The problem is, I cannot get it to boot up. It is not a display issue as when I turn on the device I can see the meta logo, followed by a black screen (the display is on, it is a lighter black than when the device is fully off)

Here is where things get weird. Originally, after the meta logo I could hear the boot up sound followed by menu/first-time-setup music. I could even see the volume HUD when pressing the volume up/down buttons. I tried factory resetting to no avail.

Then I followed the instructions provided by meta support on updating the software using a PC. I installed v25.0. Now I can see the meta quest logo on boot up, but I no longer get any boot up sound, menu music, nor any sort of indication that the android interface is working (pressing volume buttons no longer prompts the volume HUD to pop up). I can still however enter the boot menu (again, factory resetting does nothing).

I welcome any suggestions on how to fix this. Alternatively I will return the device as I did pay for fault protection. Thank you.

Edit: Not sure if it makes a difference but: Before the update, I would see the meta logo with “Meta Horizon OS” underneath. Now I just see the meta logo.

Support - Standalone My controller behaves weirdly

I encountered a problem with my right controller. Today, its battery got depleted which is odd considering I believe I replaced the batteries approximately three days ago. Now, whenever I attempt to use any battery, the controller emits an buzzing sound. It pairs, but every button I press either takes a screenshot or starts a recording, and the battery level goes between 100 and 1. I don't understand what the issue could be as I used it today and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I appreciate any help

Discussion Gamepas uevr question

Hi all,

I saw that post that gamepass was available on horizon+. Which is awesome! Especially as it has cloud stremming as well.

But now I was wondering how that would go with uevr? Can we now directly strem that to the quest 3? Or do we still need a pc? How would that work?
