Sometime last year I had bought a LG 27” Ultragear 27GX700-A that was 280hz and a great 1440 monitor but then I started experiencing issues after while where my games would no longer natively launch in 1440p but rather 4k and it caused me to lose a lot of my fps in games like marvel rivals, valorant or Genshin impact which would struggle to run smoothly. And the monitor seems to have dead spots too. I am personally really interested in Dual Mode monitors such as the 4k 240hz and 1080p 500hz which sounds perfect for watching movies or anime, then switching over to 1080p when I want to play my fps games but I’ve heard some of this monitor give a sort of blurry effect when downscaling to the lower resolution I am just not sure if it’s worth getting this type of dual mode feature or just sticking to getting a 1440p 500hz. Opinions are appreciated since I am probably going to spend anywhere from 500 to 1000 dollars.

Hey all, apologies if this isn’t the best place for this question, open to better suggestions!

I bought a 65” S95F today from a best buy outlet, it was labeled “Good - missing power/remote cables”. Upon inspection, it seemed to not be missing anything and looked fine to me, so I took it home for $680 before tax. At the price, it seemed like a steal and my expectations were low, but figured the hassle could be worth it and I didn’t mind returning it if I found any blockers.

I’ve been using it today and seems fine from what I can tell, the app tells me there were 0 hours on the panel. However, one thing that I think is strange is when I open the Support -> About This TV, the model number is 0 and the serial number is blank.

Is this a potential hint to why this TV was so cheap?

Trying to decide between a 4k oled and a new ultrawide 1440p oled. I do a mix of casual shooters and story games. Is the performance advantage at lower resolutions even still there considering dlss is good at 4k? Just getting opinions

I was in between this Samsung and LG 27GX704A-B but I bought G50SF.

I know LG is better since it has HDMI 2.1 and VRR over G50SF but the samsung was on sale (literally half the price flash sale).

I was using an IPS asus so it is a pretty upgrade with me but am I missing out too much with Lg? I am confused about my samsung's PS5 standart compatibility (basically for STALKER, gta etc.)

What should I expect with my panel in terms of PS5?

I have a C9 OLED and had it years, its been fine but I noticed now my smartlink/cec failed and no longer controls my third party devices, advice on the internet is to hard reboot the os and re-pair, the issue my TV always resumes its state and I cannot trigger a hard reset. Tried most things that are on old posts,:

• Turned off Quick Start
• unplugged, waited hours (the b4stard still resumes its state without power wtf!)
• Unplugged, held power to drain it
• It tried toggling privacy notice agreement to off and on (used to be a workaround, no longer works)
• Tried all manor magic remote button combinations that are on youtube, none of them work

Before I factory reset it I wonder if anyone has figured how to work around this strange issue...?

This is specific to those of you using a TV for a monitor at your PC. Commonly LG C3, C4's, etc..

With the recent news of LG monitors installing spyware on computers it made me realize that many people using LG TV's rather than monitors probably don't realize that your TV is sending literal screenshots of what is displayed on your device back to LG. This is much worse than the current controversy.

I personally don't trust that they're following the privacy settings and I've had my TV disconnected from WIFI for years to be safe.

If you insist on keeping it connected to WIFI, you need to turn off these settings at minimum:
(These are what they're called on LG's, unsure of other brands)

Just figured I'd mention it since I hadn't seen much discussion here, and a lot of us use OLED TVs as monitors.

So I got this monitor despite seeing all the posts about the gray banding and grainy dirty screen effect, and yeah…it’s annoying as f*ck. More specifically, I got the 20th anniversary PG27AQWP-G since I felt the white border on the W version would be distracting for me.

At first when I did the Gray uniformity tests, I didn’t think it was that horrible, until I started noticing it to some degree in other games and videos, and it just constantly feels like I’m looking through a filter. It’s not exactly the worst like how I’ve seen other posts, but it’s still absolutely frustrating when my iPhone produces better quality in videos and picture than supposedly this “amazing and like looking through a window monitor”. The blacks are impressive, and the refresh rate is pretty great, but that’s about all that’s going for it.

What monitor did you switch to after buying this?

I've had this issue since I bought the Samsung S90F screen, the screen gets darker and any dark areas like hair/shadow...etc looks like this it's really annoying.

I tried everything including turning off anything related to power-saving.

The only temporary solution is to hold down the power button on my remote a few seconds for the tv to do a restart and then it's all good for a few days before it happens again. I contacted support and they replaced the motherboard but it didn't help.

I'm connecting the screen to my PC, i'm facing this issue on anything i display (youtube, netflix, games...etc) and i changed my hdmi cable to something excellent.

Please help I really love this screen but this issue has been so disappointing..

So while tinkering with the PlayStation 5’s screen and video /current video output settings. It will tell you what is currently supported.
Now it only matters what this output says while your game is actively opened, but you can check before if you want to see if your hdmi is 2.1 or hdcp is 2.3 etc

Example I opened a game I wanted to play in 4k and 120hz. The game supports it but the problem was that the tv’s video picture would swap out of game optimizater then back into it. There would be some handshake problem, I think.
The result in the ps5 output would read 1080p 120hz.
It would be exactly that in the game no matter what I tweaked in the ps5 settings.

What fixed this was simply unplugging the hdmi and putting it back. Didn’t matter with lg g4 which hdmi port.
Also, I had to toggle hdmi video 4:4:4 pass through on in lg general/ external hdmi settings. Anyone else notice this with their lg oled c or g series? The screen looks much better. Actual 4k, 120hz with not noticeable limited rgb yuv422! Thanks for your time.

Hi, is anyone having this problem on the S90HA OLED? I've already done a factory reset. I think so far I've only noticed it with AI MODE turned on, and this picture issue doesn't happen with my PS5 either, it seems that is only with all the native SAMSUNG apps.

Its only one frame, sometimes constant each 3/5 minutes, another times each 30 minutes.

My TV has suddenly started showing massive visual glitches. Instead of a normal picture, the screen is covered in thick, vertical, blocky stripes of neon colors—mostly bright green, purple, cyan, and yellow. It looks like extreme macroblocking, and you can barely see the actual image behind it.

It's a constant distortion, not intermittent flashing. I've tried restarting the TV and checking the inputs, but it stays exactly the same. Does this sound like a bad panel, a T-Con board issue, or the main board? Any help is appreciated!

This is the second of these TVs I’ve dealt with. I love the picture. Both are angled a few degrees back on the top when the stand is attached. Is there a reason for this and should I try to override it by putting something under the back part of the stand?

My first OLED TV just arrived 2 days ago. After buying a PS5 Pro I decided that it was the right time to switch from a 2K monitor to an OLED TV to get the most out of the console, so I bought a Samsung QE55S94FAEXZT. It was also the first time buying a TV from Amazon, and I decided to get the delivery and installation service at my house because I thought that it would be better in case it arrived broken, so the couriers in that case would have taken the TV back for another unit and I would have had proof that I was not the one who caused the damage.

Maybe I was unlucky, but the delivery quality was at a very bad level: when the couriers arrived at the gate I went to open it, and as I was walking near the truck I heard something falling, and I was like "It's not my TV", guess what? When they opened the truck my TV was laying on the ground, fallen onto a transport trolley. At that moment I was thinking about refusing the delivery but the box of the TV was intact so I waited to see it out of the box. After that the couriers started opening the box inside my house, one of them started grabbing the TV from the top and asked me to help lift it with a high risk of breaking the screen, so I refused to do it. The other courier came to help and both of them started taking it out forcefully from the top of the screen with a lot of pressure, I was thinking at that moment "Okay, now it's broken". Then they installed the TV stand and put it on the cabinet, powered the TV on and checked the screen, after I checked it, it looked good luckily, and so the couriers left.

Later in the afternoon I started testing the TV and everything seemed fine, but I was really annoyed by the delivery service, it seemed strange to me that the TV was working fine. So I started looking at all the edges of the screen, behind and underneath, and when I started looking at it from the side I saw that the TV screen was bent. I decided instantly to return it the next day, but after that I've read a lot of posts and watched a lot of videos about situations very similar to mine for hours (I found a lot of Samsung OLEDs) and now I'm not sure what to do.

Was the bend caused by the couriers, or did it already came bent and maybe they made it worse? Can this bending of the screen damage it in the long run? Is it bent too much? I'll leave a pic here: https://imgur.com/a/8DWWmhB

I'm wondering if an 83 inch S90F that was a storefront (maybe 5000 hours) is a good deal or not for $1100. My previous post only has one pic of it but I normally buy used but with TVs it's much riskier.

I have a Philips OLED760/12 and I’m a bit unsure what to think about this issue. My first TV showed horizontal lines/banding in grayscale tests (visible from around 70% gray). Because of this, Philips replaced the TV.
The problem is that the replacement unit shows almost the exact same horizontal lines again. The new TV only has around 7 hours of usage.
The lines are mainly visible in grayscale tests, and in normal content it depends on the scene. They are horizontal, which surprises me because most OLED uniformity issues I read about are usually vertical banding.
Something interesting: On my first TV, these lines actually became less visible and eventually disappeared after some time and usage. That’s why I’m not sure if this is just normal OLED panel uniformity or if I was unlucky and received two panels with the same issue.
Does anyone with a Philips OLED760/12 or OLED panels in general have experience with similar horizontal lines?

I have an LG OLED77C2 that keeps turning off after I turn it on. I have tried replacing power, t-con, and main board. When I attach a diagnostic JIG to the t-con board it shows power and will display a color pattern on the screen, but there is a white vertical line along the left edge of the screen. Sorry I can't post an image for some reason.

same as all the other weird oled stuff, like oled text fringing.

I am assuming the answer is no, the screen recording will be identical as if it were on miniLED or IPS or anything else, but I want to hear it from someone that knows that their talking about and can confirm.

Mostly the title.

I'm considering upgrading from my LG 27GR83Q-B, I'm not super happy with it, I had the GIGABYTE M27Q beforehand but had to return it due to a lot of dead pixels. I liked the Gigbyte, it felt vibrant and like it had a lot of contrast.

The current LG feels very flat to me, dark game play is especially troublesome. The contrast just feels really low. Ive tried all sorts of settings and its at least usable now, but I would like something more vibrant.

I'm running an older PC at this point (RTX 2070 super + i7-9700k CPU) and not playing a ton of newer games, and when I do its on low settings with DLSS and stuff. Eventually I'll upgrade the rest of the PC but with the market right now I'm thinking I'll just ride it out. Plenty of stuff to play thats older or easier to run. When I play games I try to hit at least 60 fps, but prefer around 90 (though thats more rare to hit).

Things I'm most worried about with Oled is that at 60fps Ive heard it can feel kinda slide showy since there is no blur like with an lcd, as well as there can be flicker with unsteady frame times (which is going to happen with an older pc).

I'm looking into buying a new TV and I feel like the consensus is that LG OLED is the way to go. I haven't bought a TV in ages so I'm not that familiar with smart TVs.

I've seen a video a while ago complaining about how some TVs have that lame "film mode" that smoothens the image of movies and gives them a soap opera vibe, and it's not even possible to disable it on some of the newer smart TVs.

I just wanted to know if the LG OLED TVs were affected by that problem ?

I change the Color Space settings to my preference on my S90D 42" (WOLED), but whenever I switch inputs, or turn the tv off and back on, all 3 (Auto / Native / Custom) look exactly the same. All look like the native setting. The ONLY way to fix it is to factory reset the TV, then set up all the settings again. I have to do this EVERY TIME I want to use the TV if I want it to look how I want. Is there a fix for this?

Hey. Last week had something I've not seen happen. When using native streaming apps on my c1 (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc) I get all kinds of artifacts if the content is Dolby Vision.

Netflix streams with 4 RED sections/partitions on the screen or any other red artifacts.

Amazon stuff is all purple and green artifacts.

Does anyone know of any solutions?

So far I've reinstalled the individual apps, factory reset the TV, tried using a different network for the TV.

Nothing has worked and I'm slowly losing my mind...

Connections with HDMI seem fine. I got a PS5 hooked up to it with no issues at all.

I always game in a dark room, I do have some mirrors behind me which do reflect back the monitor into my PC case's glass, this might not be an issue i think because i heard that glossy OLEDs are not that reflective. For testing I move my glossy amoled phone screen around the monitor's area and i don't see much reflection.
Introduction aside, I'm looking to buy a budget OLED. I think these are my available options:

I don't really know what to look for, I mostly play esport games like Valorant, CS, League so the fps is high but I care more about motion clarity rather than just higher hz. I am also scared of burn in so I'm assuming newer panel generation has better burn-in resistance. You can recommend some other monitors too but my max budget is around 550 eur and I prefer to buy from local online shops (Romania) so I dont wait too much for the delivery and have delivery taxes.

Hello, I recently got a Panasonic OLED TV with Tivo OS. And I get the pixel refresh notification each 4 hours of use. But it does the pixel refresh automatically after turning it off. So what's the point of the notification? Can I turn the notification off?

Ordered it for ps5 gaming but i don't have the console yet so i hooked the ps3 expecting to see no motion blur, but it's exactly the same as my old Benq Zowie LCD full hd.
