Help, please. I feel stucked with my current English level

Hello.

I've been in US for 2 years and I have just finished the last level of English clases in one of the Adult School of North County, but I feel stucked. I need more level in order to get a better job. Is there any other Institute, University, where I could improve even more my English? I don't mind if I have to pay for it.

I've been totally inmersed in the language, practicing everyday in my job, with my american girlfriend, neighbors, supermarket, etc., but I haven't been able to progress beyond a certain level.

Thank you. I'll appreciate it :)

Anyone else into rucking?

I've been hiking consistently between 3-4 miles a day, and up to 7 on weekends for a few months, which has been getting easier the longer I do it. So I recently invested in a rucking backpack and a 20 lb. plate to start, and have been trying it out this week. I'm honestly surprised at how much it changes things to be more challenging, especially up hills. I can't recall seeing many people ever using this strategy though - does anyone locally have any experience rucking? I would like to pick your brain about things like progression to heavier weight, injury prevention, footwear, and anything else I may not be thinking of. My goal is continued weight loss (keeping walking challenging with zone 2 cardio with less stress on the joints than running).

Anyone here own property in Poway?

UPDATE

I found a real estate agent that's going to hunt down the access for me BEFORE we sign a listing agreement. I took three different agents before I found her. The other ones want me to sign a listing agreement and then they'll work on the access issue and I said no way.

......

I own acreage in the Rattlesnake Canyon area east of Rangeview Estates off twin peaks road.

I'm looking for fellow landowners who have been denied access to their property via the easement.

If you, or if you know of anyone, who does own land in that canyon can you please send me a message.

If you have any ideas on how to find out who the landowners are in that canyon I would appreciate it. The tax records hide the names now.

Let's talk.

Strength in numbers.

Seeking Alcohol Help

I am a relatively new transplant to North County and I’m having a challenging time with the transition. My wife loves this place - LOVES living here. I find it an urban hellscape. Since we moved here six months ago I’ve been drinking alcohol more than ever before. I’ve had issues with booze in the past, so this isn’t exactly new. AA hasn’t historically worked for me and I’m open to connecting with others here who are pursuing a non-faith-based program. I have used Google to search for programs - I’ve been mostly overwhelmed with results, several of which turn up defunct.

Thanks all. I’ll do my level best with or without y’all but some help would be amazing. Appreciate it.

Edit: I have had some awesome replies and some great DMs as well. I’m definitely in the shit currently but I have a lot of good leads here and even some offers of personal connections. I appreciate it so so much.

We are seeking healthy adults ages 40 and older to participate in our study. The goal of this research is to create a reference atlas of healthy back muscle, which will serve as a baseline for comparison in future studies of back pain and spine disorders.

If you've never had chronic back pain or back surgery, we'd love to hear from you!

Road down to San Onofre Beach - how bad is it now?

For a small car there was a hard to avoid, oil pan threatening pothole most of the way down the last time I went, and that was before any damage over the winter. https://www.ocregister.com/2026/07/06/what-does-the-future-hold-for-eroding-san-onofre-state-beach/

Seaside beach is super rocky

I usually hit the beach at Seaside because parking is generally pretty easy. I went over on Friday and the beach was super rocky - far less sandy areas to lay out than usual. People were clustered on the north side of the lifeguard tower on a narrow strip of sand. Even going in the water was super rocky, from the surf into about two feet of water. Normally the city has repaired the beach from the winter tides so the sand stretches deep from one end to the other. Anybody have any idea if this is normal or if they’re not bringing sand to all of the beaches this year?

Seeking a Good Physical Therapist

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a physical therapist in the area who has experience working with patients after thoracic surgery.

I’m especially hoping to find someone familiar with treating postoperative complications, particularly scapular winging. It would be a huge bonus if they’ve worked with patients who have pectus excavatum or have undergone the Nuss procedure.

If you’ve had a great experience or know of a PT with this type of expertise, I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!

Note: I went out of state for surgery so unfortunately, my surgeons office is not able to give me any recommendations and my primary care physician didn’t have any either.

Dog memorials

Post image
70 Upvotes

Hi, all. My best friend and I both lost our soul dogs within 2 days of each other last week. She is coming to visit from out of state so we can grieve and mourn together, and I would love to do something special to honor our special boys.

I know the memorial at Del Mar dog beach is gone (moved to the fairgrounds - not sure if only for the fair or permanently?) and I’ve read about the one at Fiesta Island. Are there any others? Or any other spots I may have overlooked?

Any assistance you can provide would mean more than you know. Thank you in advance for all your suggestions 🤍

Need Vet reccomendations please

We are not happy with our new vet in Vista (we just moved here). They have completely dropped the ball in terms of communication, medication refill (still waiting after a week), and test results (been waiting over a month for urinalysis results). We have 2 older cats, both 10 years old. Does anyone have a recs for a great cat vet in north county. FYI they are both due for a teeth cleaning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Thank you all for the suggestions. We will look into Aloha and North county cat hospital. Thanks so much!
