NREMT NREMT need to take remedial now

So this was my third attempt, and I thought I did really well and I was confident going in, but got my worst score as of yet. First attempt was 876, second was 866, and noe I got 835. I've never studied this hard before and I'm really trying. Looking for input especially because this is something I really want to do.

Career Advice How to deal with a partner your not clicking with.

Hello I’m pretty new to EMS I got hired at a busy 911 county about two months ago and have been released a couple weeks ago. During my fto I met most the people on my shift and had no issues with anyone. I was told there was one person who was currently off due to a leg injury. This person well call Sara.

Sara was previously partnered with a different person but supervisors split them up due to Sara saying she wasn’t going to come back unless if she was back with that person. Since they’re not allowed to be together I got put with her. I was told by my supervisor she is good skill wise but there can be some personality issues and to go to her if needed. I’m a AEMT while Sara is a EMT.

It’s been only 12 shifts with her but we definitely are not a good match. During calls it’s okay we can work together. But she is very bitter and upset all the time. On the way to calls she’ll be cussing the road out and talking about how much she hates this job and the calls. She told me she hates driving but never offers to tech calls and when I ask if she wants to tech she seems indifferent. She will talk about how she just wants to be with her old partner because she’ll be a happier and nicer person right in-front of me to others.

She dislikes some of our other crews and will openly tell them and our supervisor she thinks they are bad. The other day she also put us out of service without permission 30 mins before end of shift just cause she wanted to leave early. I get being burnt out and not happy with your position. But it’s making me unhappy as well. I’m trying to stick it out to see if it gets better but I’m really lost on what to do.

NREMT NREMT tomorrow

I had my first attempt one month ago and I failed with a 850, I was kind of down about it so I just forgot about it this summer and now im behind on studying. My family kept asking me when my next attempt was so that kind of woke me up. I paid for my next attempt which will be tomorrow. I’ve been studying here and there this past week but still don’t feel prepared. Is there anything I can do today to feel more prepared tomorrow?

Career Advice Questions About Freedom EMS

Has anyone ever worked for a company called Freedom EMS in Joliet IL? I've heard they're all IFTs, which is fine, but do they have any sort of negative reputation? Recently got fired from a different company, and I'd like to continue EMS while I'm in college, but I'm unsure just because of everything negative I've heard about the companies around me.

Beginner Advice Doing EMT class while in grad school

I am currently starting my masters degree in mental health counseling. I have always wanted to work as an EMT at some capacity since I was a young child (many ambulance trips as a child). I told myself that I would complete the EMT course at some point in my life, as my local EMS course never fit with my schedule. I have the opportunity to complete a course with the next county over. The courses are 4 hours for 2 days per week.

Has anyone else did the EMT course while in grad school? I imagine that it would be very helpful to have mental healthcare knowledge when working in emergency care.

Testing / Exams Advice Needed

Anyone have any advice for taking and passing the NREMT. I have tried taking this paramedic exam 4 times already and I am right at the benchmark of passing. I literally have no idea what I'm noy grasping as I passed both my emt-b and emt-a 1st try. My scores have ranged from 908 to 936. So I know its only by a few questions. And the only reason I know I've failed before finishing is because it keeps asking me all 150 questions, every time.

As for studying I've used the limmer education app, pocket prep, and medic test. I've gotten 80s in the pocket prep exam and 1200s on the medic test simulators.

I've watched every YouTube video out there from both master your medics and paramedic coach. I even did the remedial class through him.

I just dont understand what I'm not getting

Does anybody have the inside scoop on the Rialto Fire Ambulance Operator program? How hard was it to get in? What is life like as an AO at Rialto Fire? Do they ever promote their AOs to firefighters?

Cert / License Need An Instructor in Philly

Upvotes

Hey all, so basically I was an EMT and few years ago in Cali. I moved out to Philly and stopped working and my NREMT certification lapsed. I’m trying to get recertified and I’ve done all but my skills portion. Idk how to find someone to do my skills sign off when I’m not in a class. Does anyone have an instructor’s contact I could hire just for a quick test and a sign off on the psychomotor skills test sheet?

Or is there a better way and I’m just not aware of.

Cert / License 🚑 Need Advice: How Do I Get EMT Clinical Hours/Internship in the UAE?

Hi everyone,
I recently completed my Australian EMT (AREMT) certification and also hold BLS, ACLS, and PHTLS certifications.
I’m now trying to find out how to get the clinical hours or internship required to move forward with EMT licensing and gain hands-on experience in the UAE.
I’m hoping someone who has gone through this process can help answer a few questions:
How did you get your clinical hours?
Which hospitals, ambulance services, or training centers accept EMT graduates?
Is there an official internship program, or do I need to apply directly to hospitals?
Are there any organizations in the UAE that provide clinical placements for EMTs?
If you’ve been through this process or know someone who has, I’d really appreciate your advice. Any recommendations or contacts would be a huge help.

NREMT JBLearning class grade compared to passing or failing NREMT

I’m taking the NREMT in a few weeks and am curious the scores that anyone who used JBLearning in class ended with and if they passed or failed their NREMT. Along with Pocket Prep scores and how they did. I’m super nervous but have an 86% on JBLearning and 83% on pocket prep with 600 questions so far.

School Advice Does Denver Health EMT program drug test

Like the title says, does denver health drug tests their applicants for the program only? Im starting the program in about a month and would love to work for them. But it is just the program, and I have no problem stopping and have already stopped because I know first responders get randomed all the time. But it's only been about a week since i've quit smoking. I didn't think that they would drug tests for the program, but only on employment. But i'm just a little nervous, because I feel like i'm pushing the limits of how long it takes to get out of the system. I just wanting to be sure that i'm not going to be tested during the program. I just want be sure that I pass. So if anybody has gone through the program, do they drug test for the program?
