Boston (or Massachusetts) DJ experienced with 'nerdy' and eclectic music taste
My partner and I just finalized our wedding date for summer 2027 in Beverly, MA!
We are both HUGE kpop, jpop, and video game nerds. This is also a multicultural wedding where some Spanish language songs might be requested as well. We are hoping to find a DJ that has experience with playing music that might be more non traditional– For example, Kingdom Hearts, TWICE etc
Thank you in advance!

Wedding bands (music) under $9k?
Looking for any recommendations people might have! We saw a showcase for the silver arrow band and they were great but their model makes me nervous.
Any recommendations?

Venue Suggestions and Tips Please
Hoping this awesome group has some helpful tips for the early stages of planning!
We are thinking about a wedding for 2027- the vision so far is Sunday brunch/midday wedding for around 80 people within ~1 hour of Boston. Would love an outdoor situation with an easy rain plan.
Happy for ocean views, barns, park energy, would consider a restaurant with outdoor option. Happy to DIY things. Does not need traditional "wedding" feel- thinking short ceremony and then a hang out with family and friends. Low budget, low cost.
Ideas for venues? Other suggestions for the day or leading up to it?

Asian Hair and Makeup Artist
Hi! Does anyone have recommendations for an artist who can do both hair and makeup for east Asian features, and are in the greater Boston area? Will probably be for bride, two mom’s and potentially up to four other bridesmaids. I’ve seen some recs that are $800 for just the bride alone which seems a bit steep. I’m hoping to be more in the $300-400 range for the bride and $150 for the bridesmaids/moms if possible. Thanks!

Looking for fun, colorful, retro vibe photographer!
I'm on the hunt for a photographer for a 6 hour wedding in Burrillville, RI on June 18, 2027. I am hoping to keep it at $5,000 max. I love anything saturated, kitschy, mix of candid and retro posed shots that have personality. My dream would be to have both film and digital, but I know film can really make the price jump so I would also love to see anyone with a film/retro inspired editing style. Thanks all!

Seeking set up / breakdown help for a wedding in Carrabassett Valley
Hello! My fiancé and I are getting married at Sugarloaf on October 3rd of this year. Our ceremony is in Stratton, ME and the reception is about 10 minutes away at Sugarloaf. It’s a very DIY type wedding. We need someone who would be able to help with setting up decorations, and someone to be there to help take down / dispose of the food trays and plates after dinner and bring out the desserts. Probably would need help from around 11:30am-7pm or so (might even wrap up dinner by 5:30/6). Budget is around $500 for this. Thanks!

Just a tip for alterations for northern New England brides!
Hi all! I’m 45 days out from my wedding and have been planning since February 2025 (yay!). Overall everything has gone smoothly but I ran into an unexpected challenge that I wanted to share so other brides in northern NE can plan ahead!
Everything I read said to make an appointment for alterations as soon as your dress comes in and had a very specific schedule of how many appointments to make, etc.
Well, my dress came in in May and I began calling the preferred list of places I had for alterations. Many of them were completely booked for the year and one was even a bit shocked/rude about me trying to make an appointment so late for a September wedding. I managed to find two local seamstresses via Facebook working out of their house that had availability. The first one told me she could have my dress to me by September 2nd (my wedding is the 5th so if it didn’t fit I’d be SOL). The other one luckily seemed to be experienced with managing her workload and getting things done on time (multiple try-ons, etc.).
I even looked at some cities (Burlington and Manchester) because I would’ve been willing to drive but either the reviews scared me or they weren’t taking any more brides for 2026.
I’m not sure if anyone else has had a similar experience but it’s the one thing that made me have a meltdown 😅
All that to say, it wouldn’t hurt to call earlier and get yourself on their books at least!

Wedding under 30k
We’re planning a wedding for fall 2027 but willing to do spring 2028 and finding it really difficult to plan with a budget. Does anyone have any catering or venue recs? Our budget is $30,000 max and we have 75 people but could easily cut that list down to 50!
Edit; planing our wedding in Maine!

Budget friendly coastal venue
Looking for a waterfront/coastal venue (beach, ocean, marina) that is NOT a traditional ballroom.
- Approx 75-100 guests but flexible to cut down
- Located in CT, but open to areas within a 2-3 hr drive
- Deck, patio, lawn or tent overlooking the water
- Open to full restaurant buy-out (maybe an after party somewhere close by)
I love the idea of all guests staying together in one place (such as a hotel/inn/group of cottages) but everything I find are very traditional ballrooms. We love to party but want a more relaxed feel.
Thanks in advance!!

Torn between 2 Venues
Hi everyone!
I’m nearing the end of my venue search (thankfully) and trying to decide between the Canoe Club Ballroom in West Bridgewater and Miraval Gardens in East Bridgewater, and I want to make sure I make the right choice
Has anyone had their wedding at either of these venues? and how was the experience/working with them prior to your wedding? Thank you so much! ☺️

Recommendations on Bridal shops in the Boston area that can accommodate 6 guests?
I have a massive family and a lot of people who’d like to attend my first try on. Any recs on bridal spots in the Boston area that are good and can accommodate that size? Budget is 1.5k. I grew up in RI, so I’m familiar with Alexandra’s and would prefer to avoid it.
Thanks!!

Looking for after party recommendations in Providence/SE Mass
Hey everyone, our wedding in October is a daytime, brunch wedding. It ends at 4, and we've been torn about whether to have an after party. We're leaning towards a small after party (only our wedding party and us). If we go forward with it, I'd like to be out & about, in a fun bar setting. It'll be on a Saturday, and the wedding in is Pawtucket, RI. It would need to be a place that "comes alive" earlier than 10pm. We like to party, but we're into concerts/live music more than bars, so I don't know a lot of local hot spots. So far, all I've come up with is Hot Club or Red Door. It could also be a brewery, outside.. we just want somewhere thats guaranteed to be lively to go to with a group of 10 and keep the party going a few hours longer! Would love reccs for places and/or feedback about after party vs no after party. I'm worried getting back to our place by 5-6 is going to leave me in a hard drop and feel anti-climatic? Thanks :)

Plant Rentals?
Does anyone know of places that do plant rentals instead of flowers? I’m getting married in the Norwood MA area this fall and would love to add large greenery but don’t have room in my house to actually buy them. I’d be willing to pick them up if needed between the Lowell/Salem/Framingham/Foxborough areas

Tipping Vendors
My wedding is in a few weeks, and I know people say you should be tipping all of your vendors, but I don't understand this...
My photographer, DJ, wedding planner, florist all set their own prices - they all own their own companies, why do I then have to tip on top of what I'm already paying you? I'd understand if they worked for a larger company, but I'm just not 100% buying it....
Do you HAVE to tip? Would it look frowned upon if we didn't?

Photographer and videographer Rhode Island/ New England
I’m getting married on June 26, 2027, in Newport, Rhode Island, and I’m currently looking for both a photographer and videographer for our wedding.
For photography, I’m looking for someone who shoots a mix of digital and film. I love timeless, true-to-color images with an editorial feel.
For videography, I’m looking for someone who offers digital and Super 8 coverage. I’m drawn to films that feel editorial, cinematic, and story-driven—something authentic and artistic rather than overly posed or cookie-cutter.
If you think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to see your portfolio, learn more about your packages and pricing, and hear if you’re available for our date.

Tent wedding for 200 ppl in Boston
Hello all! Looking for recommendations for wedding venues that can accommodate 200+ guests under a tent, ideally within 45-60min drive from Boston. Our budget for venue/catering is about $40k.
I would love a garden vibe, not rustic. more of a backyard feel.
Thanks!
