But, the new names need to be appropriate for what they are a collection of - and, the funnier the better. Maybe a *village* of idiots , for example? A *womb* of babies? Maybe not. We know Christianity makes good use of the word communion—a sacrament.

We know community is important and Communitarianism was used as a word to avoid using communism by emphasizing common unity over commonality.

But communism etymologically speaking means commonality.

It is one of the many abused words that took on a profane meaning because of sociopolitical developments.

But we know the real problem is Phthonoegalism.

Communism is a useful word outside of Marxist political thought and as always, evil movements never label themselves pejoratively even if pejorative words are more accurate descriptions of who they are and what they believe in.

Remember "Christian Nationalism"? I created the neologism christopretensism for them, and now I created phthonoegalism for "communists" and I also created lucrumism for describing "capitalists".

Add this to the list of correcting historical linguistic errors.

Now let me define what communism means: Communism is a word denoting the quality of commonality.

Try using it in a sentence? So this is what I call a linguistic annexation or reclamation. We are taking a word that can be made sense from in other uses and filling the void with a new word.

I wouldn't call anyone a communist after reading this post because it no longer means what it used to mean.

It is now a more abstract philosophical word that is as relevant as the context around it makes it.

We all know capitalism has a connotation of money, but did you know that etymologically speaking capitalism does not mean money or wealth in any way?

Denotatively speaking, capitalism means head for example we have capital cities, we have capital punishment, we have capital letters and we have all kinds of capitalisms that aren't related to finances or money or wealth.

Lucrum is the Latin word that English has semi-adopted to mean transactional wealth such as in words like lucrative.

I noticed I used the word wealth, but wealth comes from the word well-being, it too has nothing to do with finances or money.

Greek and Latin etymology is normal in English, especially for higher level academic words so borrowing from Latin shouldn't feel too foreign.

Someone suggested on another thread to use the word Mammonism, I'm not going to lie, even as a Christian I had no idea what that meant until I looked it up.

Let's not use that word in English because it's definitely far removed from our schema.
