Before starting, I don’t think this puts us in a bad spot or that it’s the end of Necrons as an army I just think GW’s approach to handling Necrons has been lazy and dumb.

We’re sitting somewhere between 4th-7th best army right now, and we just ate 8 points increases plus some weirdly targeted hits Tesseract Vault and Doomsday Ark nerfs came out of nowhere and weren’t asked for.
Awakened Dynasty losing precision protection guts half its use case, and our leaders are already super squishy. Meanwhile some top-tier armies barely got touched this round.
This is the pattern with Necrons: C’tan too strong? Exclude them from every detachment ability and strat. Awakened too strong? Nerf something that’s been core to the army all of 10th. If GW can’t design a working archetype, stop handing us gimmicks you’re not willing to actually balance.
Salty take, but it feels like we’re getting punished because some players don’t know how to play against a few big units and are the loudest about it while genuinely oppressive armies get a pass because they’re just marine bodies in different colors.

Finally finished the Canoptek Doomstalker, bringing the Combat Patrol to completion.

Howdy yall id like yall to meet Phaul (the h is silent). Hes the friendliest necron warrior. He had a tragic accident with his left arm (Cat). But his loving overlord had an extra arm to replace it with. He might not be the most accurate necron but sure is the friendliest.

Hello fellow Phaerons.

Just wanted to post a lil update and progress report of my current painting batch. I am glad with the way this guy has turned out compared to my first Skorpekh back in Jan (stopped the hobby for about 5ish months and only just started again at the end of June).

While I was painting, I was getting a lil frustrated and wasn't very happy with it while painting until my wife came over and looked at it and was commenting on it from a distance as if on the table and that really helped me feel a lot happier with the progress.

So far with all of my batch painting I have spent around 65-75 hours into the painting process (6 Skorpekh Destroyers, 2 Plasmacytes, 1 Doomstalker, 1 Hexmark, 1 Royal Warden, 2 Overlords, 1 Triarch Stalker (cockpit driver only)). Doing the blades on this model alone took about 5-6 hours (first blade blending took about 2-2.5 hours with the second blade being just over an hour and the highlighting taking another 2ish hours and then another about 30 mins doing the corrections).

I am not sure how I feel about the highlights yet as I feel that is where I am lacking the most with my skill and having shaking hands does not help haha. Final product, progress photos and first phase blade are all attached if you wanna look.

Other than the basing that is left to do, I would really appreciate any tips, C+C or anything else.

I know this isn't the prettiest paint job but I'm hoping the level of kitbash distracts from the fact this is among my first five models.its a metal nightbringer that I have 3D printed parts in order to get it close to official size. 7th image for Size comparison.

I’m tweaking list after balance dataslate and I’m considering 10 flayed ones. I run cursed legions so Purge the Foe disposition. Flayed ones are great cause infiltrators, but maybe taking unit of 10 is actually good?
They are cheaper per model (55 per 5 or 100 per 10, so 45points extra) and maybe could actually survive?
In purge it’s better to have fewer but tougher units.
Idk. Should I just write them off as a first turn infiltration or try to make them do something more later? What are your thoughts? (Picture for attention)

Aside from the Deux Ex human revolution coding, I’m really happy with it.

The basic process is to dry brush two tomes of gold with the brightest in the center, then glaze over the edges with a mix of black ink and gloss varnish. The edges are pretty much opaque black. I used an airbrush but you could do it by hand. It would just take longer.

BEST: Pinning units from mid-range to penalize their movement and charge distance. Tremorglaive has a [Melta] profile for anti-armor, a [Torrent] profile to deal with light infantry, and packs a punch in melee (despite only 2 attacks). Can scout alongside its fellow Macrocytes. 12" aura of ingress denial makes it not a bad strike denier while sitting in your deployment zone.

WORST: Actual fighting & shooting accuracy is very mid, and has no support abilities that directly benefit any of the units it can support. One of several Crypteks with no Invuln save, making it easy pickings for sniper units without the aid of Cryptothrall bodyguards. Overall performance outside of Kill Team not worth the 75 pt price tag.

Your thoughts about this Best & Worst? What changes (if any) do you hope to see for this model & datasheet for a future 11th edition codex?

Hello fellow scarab lovers,

I'm currently stuck on what basing theme to choose for my models. I provided some pictures of my models (still WIP) to give you a sense of my theme.

I have also provided some pictures of what I think I would like my bases to look like, but would love some advice on what fits better. If you have another idea that isn't too much work (looking at you full forest bases) I would love to hear it too.

Did I miss something? I see plenty of comments about how great murdermind is now that they are changed to support. The old Enhancement called out that they were allowed to join Destroyers with it, but the new version lacks that and is leaving me confused. Thanks in advance!

First model I ever got was a metal necron lord back in the 2000’s. Finally got to build and paint necrons this year, and after doing the paint job I wanted to do, I no longer want to paint an army of this.

Happy how they turned out but oh boy was it a back and forth.

Geomancer and crawlers have custom phyrexian heads I commissioned, the mytes head can be found on the purple website very easily as well as the obelisk markers.
