Discussion Muslims need to stop the unhealthy obsession with Cristiano Ronaldo

I made a thread here in the MuslimLounge recently about the fitna that is being spread by Islamic Pages in promoting Lamine Yamal I was expecting a lot of angry responses which I did get but I am happy to see over 200 people liked that thread and understood what I was saying.

Therefore, I will make another thread which needs to be discussed and that is the unhealthy obsession that our brothers have with Cristiano Ronaldo. I have a feeling this one will trigger people.

Muslims should be individuals that Non-Muslims see and say This is a man or woman of great character do you really think supporting a man who forced himself onto a woman is a good look? Was that woman not some ones daughter or sister?

The LEGAL documents released by Die Spiegel about the case proved without a doubt Ronaldo was guilty of his attack on the poor woman Kathryn Mayorga however the NDA signed years earlier saved Ronaldo. If you ask why did she sign an NDA put yourself in her position battling against one of the most famous and rich men in the world who can easily use money and PR to destroy you just look at the Hakimi case as soon as his partner left him for cheating on her in a similar case to Ronaldo, instantly PR companies attacked her. How these two men are a hero to people let alone Muslims is beyond my understanding.

Secondly, I see non stop people commenting Come to Islam on Ronaldos post like the religion is a football club. If a tragedy fell on a member of your family or yourself will Ronaldo be adamant in supporting you like you are doing for him. Instead of Ronaldo why not help your fellow non Muslims learn about Islam the ones you know personally. Do you pray for them?

Thirdly, This is the worst of them all there are people who make fake videos and pictures of Ronaldo pretending he is supporting Palestine. One video where Ronaldo said he doesn't like wars was a general comment yet people made it seem like it was for Palestine. A match finished between him and Israel and people made it seem like Ronaldo refused to take the shirt of an Israeli player. Meanwhile the man who is a huge Netanyahu ally - Israel Katz proudly shares meeting Ronaldo and getting a shirt gifted by him. Ronaldo happily partakes in ads for Israel and meets government officials. Shamelessly, just to get Ronaldo on the Muslims side people are using the suffering of the Palestinians.

I hope one day brothers realize there is more to life than celebrity worship.

Discussion Sexual compatibility

I’ve been reflecting a lot since my divorce, and there’s something I don’t think gets talked about enough.
Before I got married, I never questioned why intimacy is reserved for marriage. But now that I’ve actually experienced marriage, I can’t help but wonder… isn’t sexual compatibility kind of a gamble?
You can ask all the right questions, have great communication, and genuinely love each other, but you still won’t know if you’re compatible until after you’re married. And if you end up not being compatible, it can become a major source of frustration in the relationship.
I’m not trying to argue against Islamic teachings or say I have the answers. This is just something I’ve struggled to understand after going through marriage and divorce. It made me realize that compatibility in this area is a much bigger deal than I ever appreciated before.
I’m curious—does anyone who’s currently married feel this way? Or if you’ve gone through a divorce, did it make you have similar thoughts? I’d really like to hear other people’s experiences and perspectives because this is something I’ve been reflecting on a lot lately.

Support/Advice Would you leave her for these reasons ? Unsure what to do

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

I’m a Muslim convert of 4 years and I have been married with my now wife for 7 months but we have been living together now for one month and a half . I moved in countries for her and I have been living at her parents house for a month and trying to find a job and start from 0 to settle down. It’s been a stressful month as I’m in a new country , living with her family and different culture etc looking for jobs and it’s been hard on us. However , many repeated patterns have happened since then and to be honest I don’t know what to do as it’s becoming too much, here are the lists of patterns/ red flags she has been doing so far :

Devaluation and emasculation: Insults about my looks, race (“not white”), manhood (“be a man”), and worth (“not special, many people are reverts “ you look like a woman,” said many times attraction is 0) while I’m 6’2 foot tall and muscular she constantly told me how muscular I am in the beginning (so I know it was deliberate)

Control and isolation: Monitors my phone all the time, won’t let me go out alone or use the bike or my car and she even memorised my phone passcode and checked my phone while I was asleep and because of that I had to change passcode multiple times until my phone got erased and I lost everything ..

Emotional and physical abuse: Screaming during fights , always blame-shifting, physical aggression (hit me twice including red marks on my arms and also she steps on my foot often intentionally), also silent treatment when angry and she withdrawals when I don’t chase during fights . She can spend all day in her room after a fight and me downstairs for example if I don’t chase her etc

Attention-seeking behaviour: This one I would say is the biggest one because it feels like micro cheating . She openly stares at men when we go on outings watches Haaland edits on TikTok and caught her watching handsome tiktokers models etc and she also mentions other potentials she had before me (Norway guy, this kurdish guy that asked her out etc ) and also this one is weird .. her 4 year old nephew was kissing her neck and she said in front of me (“not here that turns me on”) I guess to provoke jealousy from me and get a reaction .

Entitlement and one-sided effort: “I deserve to be spoiled,” demands I provide/spoil her while doing nothing, expects rent to parents when I just got here and have no money as I don’t work , and also withholds intimacy many many times while making me chase her all the time to initiate intimacy. I know in islam we are the providers , but she expects me to do all the effort while she does nothing .

Manipulation: Religious guilt when we fight she says (“Allah will take the gift away”), meaning she’s my gift, rewriting our marriage history (she asked me first to come to her country and marry her and she then said i did it and she just wanted to help me with Islamic questions as a revert etc ( she literally texted me first to get on a Date and get to know each other and she rushed the marriage telling me to come and fly there )

The marriage was rushed after two dates and Wallah I ignored the red flags due to Islam encouraging to marry and she had very positive traits ( saliha, beauty etc ) Allah Mustan

She also has a lot of positives like she cooks for me every day and makes me coffee , she goes with me to the mosque and if I have to go to the doctor or any appointment she comes with me always and she as well before me moving in , she left everything from her country to be with me but then didn’t workout and I moved in to her country instead . When we have intimacy there’s a lot of love , and she lended money from her mom to get us the rings and the wedding which was very nice . However when she gets angry she completely changes.

Would divorce be encouraged in my case? I swear by Allah I tried to make it work had many patience and trust in Allah but I just think this marriage is not for me after one month .

Support/Advice I’m catching myself hating Islam, and it scares me

Upvotes

Before i say anything i know these thoughts are a maybe a test from Allah ,That’s why i’m posting this, I’m hoping someone here might have advice or a perspective that helps, because having these thoughts genuinely scares me. I don’t want them to keep growing until i lose my faith.
I’m grateful for being muslim and i want to stay muslim for the rest of my life.
But at the same time I’ve been catching myself hating the fact that I’m muslim not because of islam itself but because of what people have turned it into.
I live in a muslim country where the community is so toxic ,and there is so much hate toward women, where islamic rulings are applied mostly against the weakest people in society: women and children. Religion gets used to control their lives, limit their choices, justify abuse, and sometimes even excuse murder. Meanwhile, the people who commit the worst crimes are rarely held accountable.
I live in a society that blames the victim instead of the person who actually did wrong(men obviously)
I know this isn’t Islam’s fault ,i know it’s the fault of people who twist and misuse the religion in ways that genuinely disgust me. The reality is even worse than what I’ve written here, but I’m trying to keep this post short.
I also started to hate hearing certain hadith that people constantly use to justify this behavior. And i’m even doubting whether they’re authentic, and that scares me too.
It feels like there are two voices in my head fighting each other. One part of me is becoming bitter and resentful toward the religion because of everything I’ve seen. The other part still believes Islam is a religion of mercy, justice, and compassion.

I’d really appreciate any advice. Please be kind. I’m asking because I want to protect my faith, not because I want to attack it.

Reference Required Question on Zad academy

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
I recently joined Zad Academy and am currently exploring the platform and the mashayikh who teach the Level 1 courses. I noticed that students can choose a shaykh for each subject.
Could you please recommend the best mashayikh for each subject and, if possible, share why you recommend them?
Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Question Is it permissible to wait for someone?

Alsalamu-alaykum everyone, I wanted to ask if it’s halal to commit to someone at an early age before engagement. If both parties are serious about eachother and willing to both commit, families know about eachother, but no exclusive step is taken yet and no other islamic boundaries are being crossed and both have the same true intention which is marriage but for what ever reason cannot do that at the moment. I tried looking for fatwas but not all of them are clear. Also if theres any proof for this i’d be very thankful🙏

Just to be clear it’s not “boyfriend and girlfriend” and not treating eachother as husband and wife. It’s understood that people who are not married to eachother remain non-mahrams. All the islamic boundaries are being set. It’s just two people wanting eachother. This question could also be altered into “Is it permissible to make a promise to marry each other while waiting until you’re able to marry?”

Discussion friendship between men and women

here is my opinion , and I would like to hear from you too !

I think friendship between men and women is often a lie.

Why would you stay emotionally close to someone if you don't want a future with them? Especially if you know they have feelings for you.

It's not wrong to fall in love with a friend. In fact, it's very normal. The more time you spend together, the more comfortable you become, and the more feelings can grow.

For me, I don't see the point of having a deep friendship with someone from the opposite gender if you don't love them or don't want to marry them one day.

I think these friendships only work if neither person has feelings. But if they truly enjoy each other's personality, share the same values, and find each other attractive, it's hard to stay "just friends" , especially for someone who loves seriously.

If you are very friendly with everyone from the opposite gender, please understand that some people don't see relationships as just entertainment. They get attached. They want something serious. If you know you don't want a future with them, don't keep them emotionally close just because you enjoy their company.

I always hear people say, "We were just friends. Why did they make it romantic?"

Why blame them?

Isn't it normal to fall for someone you talk to every day, trust, laugh with, and share your life with?

If you only want friendship, don't create emotional closeness with someone and expect them to never have feelings.

And no, I'm not saying you shouldn't be kind.

Be kind. Be respectful. But there is a difference between kindness and emotional intimacy. You don't need to treat everyone from the opposite gender like they're special. Keeping some distance and staying respectful is enough.

Save your deepest emotional side for the person you want to spend your life with.

In the end , kindness is good , but don't treat strangers the same way you treat your future husband or wife.

Question Locals’ insight into Muslim countries

Salam alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

I know the question on “which hijrah destination is ideal?” has been asked numerous times. However, this time I’d like to get some input from those who have lived there (or at least have family there), as opposed to those who watch biased Western news outlets.

What do we think of Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Saudi Arabia? I’ve done extensive research and it looks like the first two options are best (yes, I know the Dajjal can still reach them).
However, I worry about Indonesia’s air pollution, dangerous animals, tsunamis and earthquakes. I hear that getting PR in Malaysia is quite hard and Governments are corrupt, but English is more widespread.

Relevant info: I’m a Sunni sister born and raised in Australia, I wouldn’t want to be too far away from family so no North African countries. I’ve ruled out some Gulf options (as fitnah is still prevalent, they are complicit in genocides and Arab-privilege is real). I’ve also ruled out Eastern Europe options where the Muslims aren’t that practicing and there are threats of genocide (i.e. Israhell attacked Turkey; the Serbs and Croatians are threatening Bosnia).

This is what makes a country appealing to me: ease of PR (even if it’ll take some years), welcoming to outsiders/multicultural, piety, women’s safety, safe from natural disasters (or at least has infrastructure with preventative measures), quality healthcare, everyday costs, non-polluted air, lack of pickpocketing, quality education for my kid in’sha’Allah (wondering about international school costs and quality). Pros that I‘d appreciate but can do fine without: no need to rely on bottled water, manageable climate, walkability, free hafidh classes. I don’t mind if I need to learn a new language (I only speak English).

JazakAllah khayr

Sisters only Struggling with waswasa related to discharge. Need urgent advice please.

I know it's common for women to have discharge frequently but recently I've been struggling a lot because I feel like I have to do ghusl constantly cause of it. I don't do anything sexual, but if I get aroused, I check for madhy. I checked this time, and it felt like sweat but then I saw tiny specks of white which made me nervous.

Before I used to only be worried about the discharge I would see when waking up and thinking I have to do ghusl even though at times I would have no reason to do so but now I've been thinking I have to do ghusl for everything.

I had checked with my finger because I got told it's easier that way to check and I've never been worried beforehand, but now I got worried as to if I have to so ghusl for inserting my finger to check. I did ghusl yesterday just for this reason all because I checked with my finger and get worried that I was doing it for inappropriate reasons which I know I wasn't.

Even when I was doing ghusl yesterday, I'm so sorry for the tmi, I just don't know how else to deal with this but I had cuts on my private so it was burning a lot when coming into contact with water so I was gently cleaning rather than rushing and I was just trying to relieve the pain that i was getting from the stinging which was just touching where the cuts were, but then I got worried that "what if this is inappropriate to do especially during ghusl?" And stopped.

I felt so anxious but continued doing my ghusl, and lastly rinsed my mouth and nose but I wasn't sure if I should do ghusl again. I haven't, but I still have that worry because what if my prayers are now invalid? And when I shower like just a regular shower, it isn't considered ghusl because I don't go out of my way to clean my piercings like how I do during ghusl. So I get anxious about that too.

I just really need advice, It's so embarrassing to talk about this but I never know what else to do.

(I'm so sorry for the details, I just feel like I have to go into detail so I can get accurate advice.)

Question Meeting potentials outside

Salam all,

A potential’s mom told us that individual A spoke to someone (thru relative) however it didn’t work out as the girl wanted to meet him in a public place, but he insisted bringing a mehram like her dad or brother as he didn’t want to meet her outside without them. The girl didn’t agree and it didn’t work out between them. I was just wondering do ppl meet without mehrams but inform family & perhaps get dropped off by them? Or is it totally wrong for two ppl to meet in a cafe for instance islamically?

Discussion The system is designed for men

Upvotes

To all the sisters who went through the pain of jamiats and scholars advising them against their self respect and how to tolerate torture and abuse and make sabr and be obedient. Please hang in there and have strength to separate this system designed for men and their convenience , from their lords commands and his true religion. Ask Allah for guidance towards true islam and don’t be despondent because of the rigged system

Support/Advice I feel like a revert

Upvotes

Salam, I'm 24 yr F after years of being lost. I had a rough childhood and life with my parents. I used to use music and haram relationships to cope. I used to justify those things by saying my parents are abusive, I never felt loved, etc. I used to believe in Allah despite all the suffering I went through. Then one day everything changed. I stopped those haram relationships and stopped listening to music. Literally, my life changed; I felt it in my heart. I started a new life, a new beginning. I felt like a revert. I'm starting to learn more about Islam and the Quran. Alhamdulillah for everything.

Question How Allah sees egoistic people

I have a person,
Who is extremely Anger, Stubborn and egoistic..
Allah showed the consequences for the actions done by the person..
Any person would break with such consequences,
However the person is still standing firm and protecting the fragile ego..
Will Allah change them and humble them
Or leave them on their own..
As of now, no remorse, no guilt is shown..

I have witnessed people, who face such consequences, humbled themselves
And started to take deen seriously..

And why Allah make good people to be bad people in marriages, workplace and friendships..

How Allah remove the blindness of ego from people
Any live examples

Support/Advice Need special duas

Assalamu Alaikum

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your duas. My husband’s visa is still pending, and our flight is only days away. We’ve done everything we possibly could submitted all the documents, followed up with the embassy, made countless calls and emails but now all we can do is wait and put our trust in Allah.

This trip means so much to us, and the uncertainty has been incredibly stressful.

Please make sincere dua that Allah (SWT) opens every closed door, grants my husband his visa without any delays or complications, and allows us to travel together with ease and happiness. May Allah replace this anxiety with relief, accept all of your duas, and grant everyone what their hearts are longing for.

Ameen. 🤲

Discussion Did religious OCD make you a worse Muslim?

I’m just curious to see what kind of effect religious OCD has had on your dean.

Like I have quit anime and movies where there is glorification of magic, polythesism or blasphemy astaghfirullah so that’s good but it has also pushed me into depression and when I’m too depressed I tend to fall into some bad coping mechanisms like hanging out with bad friends (they smoke and curse out all the time). It’s also making me less productive in my job since I’m always mentally drained from all the overthinking and headaches so in a way I’m not as hard working as I’m usually.

It’s ironic because on the outside you’d think you’d be a better Muslim if you’re always paranoid about falling in haram and constantly checking things to see if they’re haram or not.

Share your thoughts and any advice in the comments down below. This disease is literally one of the worst out there but with hardship comes ease so inshallah one day things will be better XD.

Support/Advice You're broken for a reason

Allah uses broken things beautifully. Broken

clouds pour rain, broken soil sets as fields, broken crop yield seeds, broken seeds give life to new plants. So when you feel broken, rest assured. Allah is planning to utilize you for something great. Have faith, for even within your broken soul, there is the potential for immense beauty and growth. Trust in Allah's plan, and allow yourself to be a vessel for His love and light to shine through

Question Am i overdoing myself?

So i’m not a perfect muslim obviously no one is but i really do try to do good when i can.

There is this hadith from the Prophet pbuh

"Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better for you"

I always try to abide by it but most of the time i just find myself unhappy. There are times i avoid doing things knowing Allah will give me better but it never feels like that.

I can say the same for doing things for the sake of Allah too, i will do a good deed that was completely optional hoping Allah takes it into account and brings it back to me but nothing ever happens.

I just don’t know how to feel sometimes. i tell myself F it just do what you want but at the same time there’s that what if lingering in my mind. what if this very good deed i choose not to do is the thing that brings the happiness i’ve been longing for.

I’ll give you a situation from only a few weeks ago.

Bear in mind I’m still young and haven’t started working right.

A friend of a friend was having problems with his family it was so bad to the point he told himself he’s leaving the home and never coming back.

Seriously guys the way he was being treated and abused any of us would’ve considered doing the same. We pleaded and spoke to him for so long trying to get him to go back home and try to fix it all but something very bad happened that day he was so done with them.

for the few days he wasn’t at home i took it apon myself to pay for hotels airbnb whatever i could get in his area. If i am so honest I didn’t want to do that at all but like i said there’s always that what if thought in my head so i went along with it hoping Allah would be happy with me.

when i do these things i don’t brag or tell people about them because i know the most sincere acts are the ones between you and Allah. so the only people who knew were other people who wanted to help but couldn’t, myself and the guy.

After it was all over he was back at home his parents were actually trying to change how they treated him everything was actually sorted.
i was actually happy i helped someone but the happiness was short lived. when i realised no one would actually go to lengths like that to help me and that I’ve lost a good amount of money.
i kinda regretted helping him in the first place.

I love helping people seeing the smile or the results of my help makes me happy it’s what i want to do until i die but when it comes to things like these where helping another puts me at a loss i don’t tend to like it.

Do i just keep trying and hoping that Allah will eventually return all the favours and times i abstained from things.

Do i tell myself relax its okay to not help people sometimes

Like what do i do????
