Wilds [MH:Wilds] Endgame Meta Builds Compilation

3.1k Upvotes

>>> If the Google Doc images look blurry on mobile, try opening them through the Google Docs app or through a browser. <<<

Please check the individual guides in order to know if they're updated for the latest TU or not. Note that every TU doesn't necessarily change the meta.

With every new Monster Hunter game come new meta strategies and new ways to build the armor sets for your hunter. After some thought recollection, the time has finally come to present what the community has come up with when trying to figure out how you can optimize your gameplay in this brand new title.

The goal of this thread is, like the previous ones, to offer a selection of some of the best builds that have been minmaxed for damage and can be used for regular farming by any player with good enough experience on their weapon, or who's willing to gain that experience.

These guides are just tools conceived for people who like to learn how to optimize their own gameplay and figure out optimal ways to make use of what is available in the game, or who simply want an easier time farming while not giving up on basic skill requirements; nobody is forced to use them if they don't want to, and everyone is free to alter them at will for their own gameplay.
You can also use these guides simply as a starting point for when you want to try out a new weapon and learn the new ways of playing the game that are associated with them.

The albums collected here have been chosen among the available ones both for their correctness in terms of math/functionality and for their readability/accessibility. If you wish to improve any of these albums or cooperate with math and testing feel free to contact their authors directly and to give them suggestions or feedback this way, as they might not be actively reading this thread. Also, if an album seems not to be updated anymore, you are free to send me in DM an alternative album you made as long as you're committed to update it in the future as well (you will find here a detailed explanation of my expectations in terms of work).

The authors of the albums are also responsible for updating them with any new Title Update (TU) that will be added to the game. Please stop asking here if/when albums are gonna be updated, as it's not under my control. I will however notify on top of the thread whenever all the albums have been updated for the current patch of the game. (This last line was apparently not read, so from now on you'll have to figure that out by yourself.)

I would finally like to thank the community at Mathalos Nest for helping to double check or improve the content of the albums (research is still being done daily there, so if you're interested in helping feel free to join), as well as all the numerous testers, dataminers and modders that allowed us to have more accurate information about the skills and the way the game works.

I won't always be able to read this thread and I can't be the universal intermediary between users and authors. If therefore you find something in the content of an album that you think is wrong or may need fixing, please contact their author(s) directly through the means indicated in their albums.

DISCLAIMER

As usual, here's what you should expect (and not expect) from this compilation.

  1. This compilation focuses on damage-oriented builds aimed to show how it is possible to maximize your damage output within the assumption of a relatively optimized gameplay. Anyone is free to adapt these builds to their playstyle by replacing any damage skills with the comfort/survival skill they want, need or prefer. Everyone is also free not to use them if they don't like them.

  2. The albums are only about endgame builds and assume that you have access to the entire content of the game (HR100+). Progression sets are not covered here, although any author is free to add a progression section to their albums.

  3. The sets are mainly built and calculated so that anyone can use them for solo play. Multiplayer is obviously still a consideration, but the sets are supposed to work regardless if you're playing with others or not.

  4. The builds are meant for regular farming and not for speedrunning, which is a specific practice with its own rules and goals (although speedruns can obviously give some inspiration about tactics you can adopt in your regular gameplay). If you're interested in speedrunning this game I highly recommend to ignore this compilation and to join a speedrunning Discord and/or to learn by watching speedruns instead.

I'm currently HR 81 and haven't hunted Omega(thats Rove's talking artifact right?)

My armor isnt fully upgraded

The hardest hunt I've had so far is a 5-star Tempered Lagiacrus(Needed a gem). It took 24 mins to kill and I ran through 20+ Meg Pots and a few max/ancient pots. I fainted twice (1st was Revival/2nd was a Cart) Was not hunted with current build.

I generally feel as if I'm taking more damage then I should.

My hunt times, depending on the monster, are normally around 4-11 mins, 6-17 mins if Tempered.

Are there any skills I'm over dipping in or any skills I should dip more in? (EW5 is mandatory as I refuse to hunt without it)

Wilds God roll charm and build for Hunting Horn and CB

I have looked at the meta document for Hunting Horn. There is not much mention of what a god charm may look like.

Overall, I feel like I see a lot of discussion about god charms sometimes what that might include, but very little examples about the following set that could be built as a result.

For both hunting horn and CB I am curious about what god charms might exist to look out for, and what armor sets this would then involve one changing - if this would also change gogmartian weapons to look for etc.

Most optimised builds seem to (rightfully so) create builds based on non god charms, I am however curious about examples of some god charm builds, even if these just enable similar damage to current agitator charm builds with more comfort etc.

Would love to hear about some examples and see some god charm builds for HH and CB if some hunters have some!

Wilds Worst Non Artian Element Weapon? (Dual Blades)

Hi,

While i am not a Meta Player, I always like to come here to get some inspirations about what is important for specific weapons or some other Ideas (would never have considered minds eye for dual blades). You guys doing amazing work.

Since Ascendence is on the Horizon and I already used most of my Materials for Gog Weapons I am not too much in the mood into to farm another 150k+ of Upgrade points and all the other stuff (also want to play around with bows)

So i was planning to just get the best Monster Weapons, but of course I get a god roll after checking out of curiosity (4 Attack + 1 Sharpness).

So my Question is which of the 5 BiS of Monster Weapons is the worst so i can replace it with that roll.

Or do I make a mistake and should go for Artian even without the upgrades? ( I could upgrade later down the line, but I couldn't savescum anymore)

In case this Question is to far out for this subreddit then I delete it and ask in the normal wilds subreddit.

Pre-GU Trying out bows at Nekoht 7 stars. I need opinions lol

I've been using LS and GS a lot and sometimes HBG and hammers. But god damn the joy that I found in using bows, despite how hard it is to play on PPSSPP, I had the most fun using it and I'm wondering which armor set would be best for progression and how I'd deal higher damage with it. The bow I'm planning to get is the Tigrex and I'm currently using True devil LS

Wilds Need help Artian Greatsword build advice

I am a novice player deciding to learn how to use the GS. Recommend builds that won't drive me crazy with the rolls—out of 50 rolls, I only got one Attack 3 and two Sharpness and idk if keep it and build around

Rise Build help for a friend (Sunbreak TU4)

What kind of build would you suggest armor wise to a player who uses Longsword and uses pretty much only the basics of the kit and the special 2 wirebug parry. He uses the regular counter but not the sheathing one, doesn't use any other wirebug skills as far as I'm aware. Also no skills that make the player switch the scrolls preferably.

Currently on the Anomaly grind PRE!!!-Amatsu and PriMal so none of their gear can be used but all of the Risen Elder gear is unlocked. So anyone got good builds for those specifics? I've tried looking around but haven't found many guides at the TU4 period especially with these limitations my friend has.

World Longsword Builds for HR in base game World (no Drachen/Kulve sets)

I’ve been grinding HR in world since I skipped the end game grind and jumped to Iceborne and wanted to see how the HR is and honestly it’s been a blast!

I am currently HR55 and have done the majority of the game content and been just grinding decos and trying to augment my Divine slasher…

Which brings me to this point, what are the good super late HR builds that DO NOT have Drachen gear (it’s a fully solo play through and I doubt I can find a squad to farm extremoth), same goes for Kulve I do not plan to engage with either of them in this playthrough.

I done 3 of the AT Elders, Teostra, Nergigante and Kushala since they’ve had the best pieces for LS with thier normal pieces, but I couldn’t find any good source for builds that didn’t have 4 pieces Drachen in them.

My current set is 3 pcs Teo Y
1 Teo a( for wex 2 on arms)
1 Odo Mail B (for speed sharpening)

I got extremely lucky and found a Sharp jewel very early in my grind so most my builds were around protective polish and Master touch with Divine slasher.

TLDR, looking for end game LS builds in HR with only AT monster parts, no drachen or Kulve taroth. I have Divine Slasher and Sharp Jewel :)

World Pre-Fatalis no safi less than MR70 bow build help

Replaying mhw on pc from my ps4, was a greatsword main and decided to do a bow run all the way through this time

Am currently MR 49 I think and wanted to see if I could beat fatalis already, was pleasantly surprised I was hitting 50s on his head with alatreon bow and TCE azure age set. I even got him to 50% I think I had to hide behind the barricade on my first attempt already

I'm thinking velk head and chest, with alatreon arm waist and legs. Would this out dps TCE and provide decent survivability?

Not considering safi since he's not on right now, and health augment is pretty far so the dragon vein might be too punishing

Should I build that set and eat for elemental res L? Or upgrade my armor and somehow slot some part breaker and brute force it with azure age 4 pc with furious rajang arms

Edit: Just beat him! And I got to break his head once with bow, 4 pc Azure age and alatreon legs with alatreon bow

Wilds Why is coalescence considered good in wilds? For elemental lbg

I don't use lbg that much, mainly Arkveld only in multiplayer and Uth Duna solo and multi. I don't get hit all that much so why would I want to use coalescence if that's the case? I can only imagine it works well with Gore Magala's Tyranny if recovering from the frenzy also triggers it? But I don't know if this is the case. Or if I'm completely off please tell me why. Thanks.

Rise How do I learn a new weapon in MR Sunbreak?

Hey people of Reddit,

I have 500 hours on Risebreak and it’s my first game of the series and I truly love the game with all of its mechanic. I’ve been using Insect Glaive since LR base rise and albeit it definitely is not the best weapon for anything other than role playing as an attack helicopter nor does it have very high dps. Using it has become a drag ever since making my final goal for the game to beat Hazard Primzeno; it’s probably the worst matchup for the weapon other than Risen Shagaru. Ive been trying out tactical nuke kinsect gameplay for a bit thinking it might help, I’m here to inform you, it did not. I’ve decided i want to learn a new weapon. I played Swaxe for a bit and loved it only to get bitch slapped by Primzeno the second I hopped on. Tried charge Blade only to find it to confusing for my walnut brain to wrap itself around. And now I’m at my wits end. Insect glaive feels way to different compared to all of the other 14 weapons to transfer over any previous information other than spin like hell. I’m thinking about creating another save slot since I’ve already kinda biffed this one since it’s my first game and I didn’t learn a lot of the games mechanics until waaaaayyy too late. Anyone who could give tips or ideas to help would be MUCH appreciated.

Cheers!

Wilds Am I okay to stop rolling with a +3Attack +2Sharp Paralysis Element ChargeBlade?

I'm really new to Wilds, started about 6 days ago and I'm around HR 74.
I've tried to find information and apparently for the Paralysis CB this roll was ideal, the other being +4Atk +1Sharp, from what I understand.

Am I good to stop rolling here and start focusing on building armor thats conducive to this build?

So it's as follows:
Chrono Gear
Element +30
Attack Infu x3 + 5
Element Type Paralysis

Reinforcement:
Sharp30
Atk5
Sharp30
Atk5
Atk5

Rise MHRise Anomaly Investigation Question: Multi-Monster Investigation rewards

Late to the game, but want to speed up material farming, would love an answer thx.

Does breaking parts of other monsters in a multi-monsters investigations contribute to the afflicted material reward for breaking parts? Or only part break of the afflicted monster gives it?
