Discussion Capcom really needs to commit to a fist weapon already

They already have the moves for it already with Akuma being in World and Wilds. The only thing left is the weapon designs

Heck, if they dont want Akuma, they could use Dante's moveset from DMC5.

Its been a decade since a new weapon came out and it was for a mobile game. And there's only two blunt focused weapons.

We need a new one.

Discussion Is LS the easiest weapon?

Im currently playing through wilds with the LS but I’m seeing a lot of stuff saying that it’s seen as an easy low skill weapon. I was using it because I like the combos but I’m thinking of switching to something else like CB or swaxe. Is the LS really an easy no skill weapon? If it is I’d rather play something else.

Discussion Worth trying Wilds if I bounced off World?

Read plenty of "World or Wilds as a beginner?" threads on the sub- seems World gets recommended over Wilds every time. I did try World a while back, but I bounced off of it pretty quickly as I had a tough time getting into it. I'm really wanting the combat out of it primarily, at least to get me in the door.

At a glance, Wilds seems a bit more beginner friendly, even though it doesn't have it's DLC yet (inb4 "World is a complete game"). Is it worth trying instead? It's on sale for $30.

MH4U MH4 + MH4G or MH4U

I've always played just the western version of the game, but I was wondering if playing the original games is worth it. Like, do they have complete translation patches and active players? Are they very different from the western version of the complete game?

Discussion Do You Have Issues with Restocking At Camp?

I was watching a recent Wilds review and there’s one particular criticism I’ve seen brought up before for not just it, but basically every new gen game I wanted to get some community opinions and experience on.

The complaint was that allowing players to restock their items at camp made the games way too easy because they could hypothetically blow through an unlimited number of potions fighting a monster.

That particular complaint feels like it’s one of the kinds that might be more of an issue in the mind of the person with the complaint than anything that functionally makes the experience worse, but I know that I am just one person with relatively little multiplayer experience with these games. So I’m making this poll to try and gauge some feedback from everyone here, and would love to hear everyone’s opinions on the matter, and whether you regularly use the mechanic or not.

MH Wilds Worth getting right now?

Hey all! I've been meaning to try out MH Wilds and since its on sale right now, seems like the perfect time to give it a shot. I'll be getting it on ps5, so I wanted to ask if it's worth getting it now. How important is online matchmaking in the game, and is finding people to play with an issue? I'm a pretty big eldenring nightrein fan, but with no new update seemingly coming out any time soon there and a dlc announced for MH Wilds, it seems like the game is more actively updated, so I wanted to give it a shot. I've never played a monster hunter game before though, so would you recommend a new player to try it out?

Update: Just got the game, and can't wait to play it! Thank you to everyone who responded!

MH World Mh world hype

So recently I’ve been getting into MH and I really loved MH wilds and have nearly 100 hours in it and play it regularly but I decided to get mh world because the deluxe edition was on sale. I only ever heard good things I saw and loved the art style and the game play looked slower than wilds but still great. However, I’ve been playing it and I seriously can’t see the hype… yes it’s fun to play and the barrier mission against the elder dragon was sick (I use the long-sword btw) but like the weapons I’m able to craft and the armor are just so… mediocre so far. I got to the coral highlands and beat this annoying monster that’s basically a mix of a chihuahua/bat/mouse/balloon and I just had to get off because I checked the armor and it was very meh. Every single armor set is still worse than the standard deluxe set which is ugly, and every single weapon design are either weaker than the defender longsword or are just the bone shotel with a different color fur on the hilt. I know I’m Probably barely in the game at all but like, am I missing something or is this just how the rest of the game is going to be? 🫤 (no hate to the game or anybody who likes it this is just my opinion after around 8 hours)

I really wanted this guys to appear in the chart at least once, so I'm happy about this inclusion.

Winners Trivia: They're a reskinned Plesioth from a crossover event with Higanjima. Weird manga, I don't recommend it unless you're a horror fan.

Art New Weapon Concept - GunSword

Post image
0 Upvotes

Here is my drawing of a weapon concept that fits into MHWilds mechanics. The default mode is a pistol in left hand, and a pata on the right hand. The alternate mode is a longsword-like weapon that uses boosters to its advantage. I took inspiration from bloodborne with the parry pistol, because I really liked the idea of it in a MH game. I feel like it would be a little busted in most MH games but with the pace of MHWilds especially late game and the aggressiveness of the weapons currently in the game, I feel like it fits best with Wilds, or maybe rise as well. It did end up being kind of just a mashup of a bunch of different weapons, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing, since some weapons already are like that.

Iceborne Is this build okay ?

Hey everybody, I was curious what people think about this build I made since I know very little about buildmaking in MHW. I based it off of a build from mhwchargeblade.net and put in skills focused on mobility and surviving since that was what I was struggling with. Rn I feel like I could do with a few more lv2 deco slots though, but the first thing I would change is the belt which will cost me artillery 2 :/.

Lemme know if this is any good or if there are better alternatives

Discussion Is there any Elder Dragon that could compete with White Fatalis for title of strongest?

(No Frontier here please)

Safi'jiva is apparently equal to Fatalis and White fatalis is much stronger, so that's a no.

I've heard some people say that Dalamadur is one of the strongest elder dragons, and with its size, it might have a chance? You'd need to fact check me on that.

I heard someone say Ahtal Ka could beat Fatalis with enough prep time?

Amatsu is apparently super coked but I haven't gotten to them in P3rd yet.

Discussion Hot topic: fatalis is generic

Ever since I played Monster Hunter World and saw Fatalis for the first time, I thought he was pretty generic for a game with such interesting and cool designs (though I do like the whole thing with the armor and the city being destroyed by him mostly because of the artificial monster aspect). Even Safi'jiiva is less interesting than its younger form, despite being better in other ways, like its ""beauty"" and the whole star concept.

In short, as someone who has only played three games in the franchise, I feel that Fatalis and Safi are kind of weak for World compared to Rise, for example.,

MH World Which is the best katana?

I just started the expansion, the last story mission I did was killing the barioth.

I started the game using the switchaxe then I switched to the hammer and I had a lot of fun, but now I noticed that the enemies have become very fast and consequently I also want a faster one because with the hammer it has become difficult to charge the attacks.

So I ask you which is the best katana at this point in the game?

I was thinking about the "Sakura" but there are also others with the possibility of putting more powerful jewels

MH World Trying monster hunter world for the first time

Post image
Upvotes

So I bought Monster Hunter: World with all the DLC. Is it possible to play the entire game solo? That’s what I’m doing right now.
I’m playing using only the Defender weapons. Should I avoid doing that? Are there any other tips for becoming really strong early in the game?

The game can be overwhelming sometimes to me because of its mechanics.

Discussion Is there any game where Hammer is the best at anything?

Upvotes

From everything I've seen as a non-expert across the series, Hammer generally seems to be getting the shorter end of the stick, being largely slower and weaker than a lot of the competition, sometimes even failing to be the king of KO like is its entire job (thanks 4 CB).

So is there any game where the Hammer is actually a genuinely high tier, amazing weapon, standing out amongst the others?

Edit: What I'm reading in the comments is that it was great in gen 1, and otherwise, never that amazing, but reliable.

And yes, I am a hammer main, I do believe in the bonk and I'm not abandoning it now. I was just curious about its history
