Day 1 of building HOBO LIFE SIM

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Building a life simulator game about being homeless. There's a few on the iOS store that I do like but none of them are as in-depth as I'd like them to be, nor as realistic or have the best progression - thus leaving me dissatisfied. Today we got 1 activity we can do which is beg. I wanted to get the basics down first so I have something repeatable for future actions. Much much more to come. Building for iOS, macOS, and iPadOS.

Why do Android games take up so much storage now?

I was clearing out my phone the other day and realized a couple of games I downloaded are taking up wild amounts of space. I get that the graphics are better these days and all, but it feels like every mobile game now wants to hog half my storage. I’m talking multiple GBs for just one game. Is this just how it is now or am I missing something? How do you guys deal with this? Do you just delete games when you’re done or buy extra storage for your phone?

Why do some Android games kill my battery so fast??

I’ve been playing a bunch of Android games lately, and I swear some of them drain my battery like crazy. Like, I’ll go from 70% to 30% in what feels like an hour. Is it just a graphics thing or are some games just not optimized for mobile?

Also, does anyone have recommendations for games that don’t destroy battery life but are still fun to play? Bonus points if they don’t make my phone heat up like a toaster.

Lien jouable : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kapinfo.dopsarcandezombies

Plateforme : Android (mobile)

Statut Free to Play :

[x] Free to play

Can timing and elemental block interactions create a fun core gameplay loop?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm making a simple game that combines timing and strategy.

The more accurate your timing, the larger the block you earn.

Each block also has an elemental type, and those interactions continuously change the difficulty of the next move.

In other words, playing well doesn't simply make the game easier—it changes the decisions you'll have to make next.

I believe this evolving loop is what makes the game fun.

But I'm curious what other players and developers think.

Would this core gameplay loop be enough to keep you playing?

If not, what do you think is missing?

Anyone tried Christopher's Genie? Found it through the YouTube channel and curious before I start playing

I've been watching Christopher's Genie videos on YouTube for a while, and I just found out they actually have a mobile game too. Fairly new into the game - its a match 3 game but before i go deep wanted to hear others thoughts as im looking for a fun match-3 game

Is it a solid Match-3?

Worth getting into long-term, or does it get repetitve fast?

Anyone else come across it through the YouTube side? What's your take?

Any other recommendations instead??

Thanks in advanced!

I've loved this game since I was a kid, but since they added more adds and now the art is ai generated the game is just unplayable

Are there any similar games for android that aren't overcrowded with adds and in game purchases?
