Bing Hot take: Rewards should stop acting like a slot machine and lean into predictable, low-friction routines
Maybe it's just the sleep deprivation, but the more Microsoft Rewards leans into pop-ups, streaks, and random 'try again later' moments, the less it feels like a loyalty program and the more like a tiny casino made of web views.
I'm exactly the person who would use a calm, repetitive routine. New baby at home, I get five-minute pockets between bottles and laundry, and my brain loves checklists. If Rewards were consistent, I'd happily run the same small loop every day and never complain.
Instead, everything feels like it wants you to poke at multiple places until something finally registers. Some days searches track fine, other days they're laggy. Sometimes the app reloads a few times. It leaves you constantly wondering 'did that count,' which is the opposite of relaxing.
Hot take: the program would get better engagement if it was more boring. Give us one simple daily checklist that actually works, with clear progress and no mystery delays. If you want gamification, make it optional, not baked into the basic earning path.
I know some people love maximizing and chasing every point, and that's fine. I just think the current design punishes anyone who wants a predictable routine, which should be the whole point of a rewards program.
Anyone else doing less because the tracking and UI feel unnecessarily chaotic lately?
