Sharing / Insight 💡 we spend most of our lives trying to control the one thing we can't

think about how much of your day goes into the body. food, gym, sleep, grooming, comfort, how you look. and after all that it still ages, still gets sick, still does what it wants. you can influence it. you can't control it. now think about how many hours you've spent learning how your own thinking actually works.

we'll spend years and a fortune on a car, a house, a body and almost nothing on developing the relationship with the thinking that has to live with all of it.the strange part is that the mind is the one that's actually trainable. thoughts arrive on their own, you don't get a vote in that. but what happens after a thought arrives that part responds to practice. that part can be worked with.

so we've got it backwards. enormous effort on the uncontrollable, almost none on the thing that would change how the whole day feels.where are you with this? has anyone here actually shifted that balance?

Question ❓ Guided meditation recommendations?

Upvotes

Can anyone recommend some good guided meditation tracks from YouTube/spotify/etc.?

I’ve been using “Breathe” by Alan Watts @ https://youtu.be/Opc7EiI2Njk , but it’s getting a little repetitive

Thanks! 🙏

Here is the previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Meditation/s/z4nkOkcQCC

After people asked me some questions, my own question became clearer to me. My question is:

Is there any medotation that can help prevent burnout or congnitive fatigue or is there any meditation that can help recover from it super fast? I am talking about mental burnout that arises from solving mathematics problems.
