Introduction & Guide to Writing a TypeMe Post

Hello All!

This is a welcome post and guide to all those who want to make a TypeMe post or learn to accurately type others. Don't know your Myers-Briggs type? Create a text/video/audio post describing yourself, and the Reddit Gods will type you! Test results and relevant pictures may also be included, though the focus should be on self-description. Once you've found your type we encourage you to stick around, learn more about MBTI, and help type others. If you have sub improvement suggestions or are interesting becoming a mod, please comment or send us a modmail.

This is an updated welcome post replacing the old one which was created by a previous mod. We've included the link to the old post because some of the comments contain helpful information.

Here's some informational resources on MBTI:

Here's descriptions of each type:

While we currently allow For Fun posts, remember that the main purpose of this subreddit is to help people find their true MBTI type, so we have restrictions in place to improve the quality of content on the sub. We ask that everyone be respectful and keep comments relevant to MBTI. Please review the Rules before posting or commenting.

Creating an MBTI TypeMe Post

Overview

Note, these are not rules, but will be helpful in getting insightful responses. In general, self descriptions might include your preferences, interests, hobbies, lifestyle, career/what you are studying, your values, your life goals, how you like to structure your day, how much social interaction you prefer, how you relate to others, how organized you are, how you tend you express yourself, etc.

Post structure

Here are a few guidelines on structuring your post:

  • Minimum-length: A good typing post should be at least a 1/2 page to receive an accurate typing. Remember, the more information you include, the easier you will be to type. However, keep in mind, posts with excessive length are less likely to be read in their entirety.
  • Elaborating on your answers is important. Try to answer questions with at least a couple sentences. Proper typings are based off of your thought processes rather than behaviors. If you're not elaborating, Typers can't tell much.
  • Please try to break up your post into paragraphs. Walls of text are often ignored.

Questionnaire

Although you don't need to use these questions when making a type-me post, they're here for anyone who needs a bit of a guide. No need to answer all of these questions either:

  • Give a general description of yourself. How old are you?
  • What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not? If you are not working, what kind of job do you want to do or what are you studying?
  • Describe your childhood/upbringing. Did it have any kind of ideological or structured influence? How did you respond to it? Did you have any significant negative experiences that may have affected how you think or behave?
  • Do you have any mental or physical health issues that might affect how think or choose to live? Provide a brief description.
  • If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
  • What is your relation with movement and your surroundings? For instance do you prefer a sport or outdoors event? If an outdoors event what is it? And why? If not what type of activities do you tend to engage?
  • How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
  • Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
  • Do you prefer hands on activities or working with your hands in some form? Describe your activities.
  • Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
  • What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
  • How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
  • Do you need logical consistency in your life?
  • How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
  • Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
  • What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
  • What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
  • How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
  • What's important to you and why?
  • What are your aspirations?
  • What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
  • What do the "highs" in your life look like?
  • What do the "lows" in your life look like?
  • How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
  • Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
  • How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
  • How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
  • Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
  • Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why would you?
  • What is the ideal life, in your opinion?

As an FYI, we are working on improvements to the questionnaire so you may see changes in the future.

DISCUSSION Looking for new moderators

Hello r/mbtitypeme, we are in need of new moderators. We are currently down to one active mod (me) and I’m chronically ill so cannot support the sub as much as it needs. I understand the sub could be better and I would very much like to make improvements, but given the current state of the team that is rather difficult.

If you are interested in becoming a mod please fill out the questionnaire below and send it to me via chat - u/aredhel304. Please don’t be intimidated by some of the questions if you are new to this - we are open to taking on some inexperienced mods if you check the other boxes. We do, however, expect that applicants are active members of the subreddit.

  1. Tell me a little about yourself. What are your interests/hobbies? What is your career? Or what are you studying?
  2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  3. What is your experience with MBTI?
  4. What is your skill set? What do you think you can add to the mod team?
  5. Any experience modding? If not do you understand what the role entails?
  6. What is your vision for the subreddit?

Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you all!

UPDATE (11/9/24) - We’re still looking for additional moderators so please reach out if you’re interested. While all are welcome to apply, I want to add that we do have a specific need for someone with more technical skills - someone willing to work with Automod and/or someone with a software background.

UPDATE (12/18/25) - We are once again looking for moderators with any skillset as long as they meet the criteria above and seem like a good fit for the team.

About me: I mask my true internal struggles behind a silly, goofy exterior. Most only get to know this mask, despite the fact I'm a chronic oversharer. I believe life would be insufferable if we couldn't have whimsy or the ability to laugh at the silly, the surreal, the odd little moments in our day that take us by surprise. I am very much into photography, abstract art and history. I enjoy walks with my camera in an attempt to capture the beauty in everyday life, the things we often walk past and take for granted, like butterflies and mushrooms or wildflowers. My favourite video games include Crusader Kings 3, Rimworld and Cities Skylines.

NEED CONFIRMATION Does that fit my type?

Others and i see myself as the person with the most energy in the room like always everywhere no matter if it’s 3 am or 3 pm.
I myself would describe myself as a bubbly personality who sometimes overshares or confuses people pretty much. Others and i would say i speak fast, get enthusiastic over small and big things, am in for every side quest, take life easy and almost treat it like a joke, always do random stuff, get enthusiastic pretty fast and am kinda bossy/assertive and hate losing. I’m slavic and have a crazy jawline, high cheekbones and ice blue eyes so i can look kinda bitchy and intimidating if you see me from afar or if i want to look that way.
I always thought i’m pretty much acting like an open book and am the opposite of nonchalant and mysterious but so many people say i’m actually really mysterious, even old friends, and that they know not much about me. I mean i’m a pretty mirroring personality but still i always tell people about how i, as an example, overcame a struggle or really embarrassing shit so i’m confused. Can someone explain what they see?

CAN’T DECIDE İm an intx

İ ve Been shredding my personality mbti wise and i think my active function order would be

ni ti ne fi se te si fe

İf that order could exist... İ have an "ni" type İntuition but it doesnt affect my daily decision making but if my gut screams something (and it has never Been wrong idk where it stems from) it almost completely bypasses the through interrogation of the ti and the ni is basically the only exception to my inner logic i just trust it and my te is basically not my comfort function its basically just there to let the ni get into action but its a good supporting function to ni

I’m aware that tests aren’t accurate but I figured it’s worth a try

I’ve been told I’m an INFJ, but I don’t think I use Fe a lot. Been told I’m an INTJ and I also think so—but I’m not so sure.

• Currently taking Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in World Literature, planning on taking another degree in History or Sociology
• Often appears aloof in public or when surrounded by strangers
• Been called selfish by my family, I avoid showing others what I don’t want to share so they won’t ask. Or I make it clear that I’m not sharing
• I keep multiple journals. I always give myself reality checks so I appear aware
• Needs a lot of alone time to recharge
• I don’t particularly look or try to understand art but I admire Caravaggio’s works
• I match my friend’s vibe so I don’t make them uncomfortable, but shut down when I play that part for too long
• I think a lot about my future and I live mainly inside my brain
• I like to go out with my friends, my family is a little overwhelming
• Affection is not in my dictionary, my love language (that i show to my partner) is mainly gift gifting, and the love language I prefer most is quality time
• I listen to podcasts about theories and true events (crimes/economical statistics/ways to improve one’s lifestyle/etc.)
• Favourite music genre is RnB, Jazz, and a lot of classic songs from the 50s
• Fashion sense is mainly casual minimalistic, even though I get interested in a lot of other styles
• I think first impressions matter

DISCUSSION type me for a cookie🍪 :)

Upvotes

I am a person that thinks a lot but I don’t appear to be as much in my head.

I am social, friendly and like to be chill with people. Relationships are very important to me and usually my biggest reason of stress as if it’s a given I’ll mess it up.

I am interested in many things but struggle to commit to any.

I’m a quick learner but I sometimes lack the self discipline.

I hate failing in front of others because I think it makes me look incapable.

I am okay with talking about feelings and I’d consider myself emotional but being honest is not the same as being vulnerable for the things that matter in my eyes. I hate to admit it but sometimes I feel uncomfortable when people show their “weaker” sides (this doesn’t apply to my close friends and the people I love). Hence why sometimes I am unsure on how to act when someone needs support. Speaking of love, when I love, I love hard but coming to the point of love is a long process for me.

I initially might come off as light hearted and I like jokingly bickering with people but I think most people in my life deem me as a “serious” person in terms of what I’m doing an what I want (this isn’t always the case I promise).

I apply logic and effectiveness to most areas of my life despite being very sensitive.

I struggle with doubting a lot but I firmly believe I can do anything I set my mind on.

I like being who I am and I believe the things I feel, do and experience matter to me simply because they are mine. I am always ready to answer to anything.

I like to view life as a movie with dramatic and happy scenarios.

I tend to first let a feeling affect me and then actually realise I am feeling it. It’s like I think through them first “this is mean. It should hurt me. Did it?” or “this hurt me but maybe it wasn’t as bad?”.

I don’t bond with people easily or attach but when I do it’s very intense. When it comes to meeting or interacting with people, I love the exchange of energies and ideas.

I like to not think of my setbacks as setbacks and tend to minimise the importance of negative things in the past. I tend to be enthusiastic and high on mental energy.

Sometimes I have a blurry vision of who I actually am and I think that comes from introspecting and worrying too much about what I might be doing wrong.

It’s embarrassing to admit but I am really sensitive when it comes to human relationships; I am always anxious the other person won’t consider me as important in their lives as I do with them. I don’t even know why that happens, it’s just that the thought of someone thinking I mean so much to them feels weird.

I am afraid of disappointing everyone to the point I am left alone.

Even though I always end up doing what I want because I owe it to myself, I wish I could worry less about others’ opinion in the process.

It might be naive but I do believe that good things come to good people. I do not however believe in things being meant to be or “fate”.

I am poor with self-control when it comes to doing things that give me pleasure.

Sometimes I feel like such a free spirit and others like I am tired of my own inhibitions.

Major FOMO to the point of exhausting myself.

I play our fake scenarios that excite me very often.

I want the great romance, the great freedom, the great life in a sense of wanting it all and wanting it big time, intense.

I change my mind easily.

I like gaining knowledge on the things I’m interested in.

I have been told I speak in a calm way.

I do struggle with feelings of alienation at times.

CAN’T DECIDE What mbti is this?

Am i (ENTP, ENFP, ENTJ, or INTJ?)

my Enneagram profile is sx7w6, tritype 783 or 784.

My core traits and behavioral patterns:

Logic & Integrity: I hold deep personal integrity and an unshakeable internal code. However, when it comes to dealing with feelings and emotions, I use strictly detached, objective logic to process them.

Goals & Structure: I am deeply goal-oriented and associate my self-worth entirely with achieving. I naturally track and follow external schedules to hit my goals. When I face failure, my internal response is to feel completely incompetent.

Creativity & Depth: I have a strong romantic, melancholic side. I love poetry, introspection, and creative expression.

Handling Stress: Under heavy pressure, I turn into one of two extremes. I either become hyper-goal-oriented and double down on execution, or I become highly paranoid that others are working against me.

Adaptability: When a plan changes completely at the last minute, I do not get annoyed. Instead, I feel genuinely excited by the sudden shift in possibilities.

21F.

I'm curious what type people get from photos looking at my expressions, posture, overall vibe. I usually enjoy meeting new people (Uni, parties, dance), but also need plenty of time to myself to recharge after being social. I tend to get excited by new ideas and hobbies, so I'm always trying something new. Don't wanna reveal my occupation (Uni field) because it might lead to certain types.

Close friends describe me as friendly and easy to talk to, but I can also be pretty reserved until I feel comfortable (then I can get a bit too edgy). My big thing with psychoanalysis is to figure out if I'm a natural leader or I just do it because other people are afraid or lazy and this happens a lot in groups.

AM I MISTYPED My sense of humor is making me question my type.

Although taking as many tests as possible is a waste of time in my opinion, I have got ENTJ 3w4 on tests. But lately, my approach to humor made me question if I possess Ne a lot. In real life, my jokes usually involve dark humor, dad jokes and wordplays (i.e puns), but online, as I don't really care about consequences, my jokes are quite random, and I don't even know how I do them.

My approach to humor in school, especially high school, was calling out people with irony, because, at times, I thought that what they were doing was quite wrong and might affect their future. After calling out for what they are, I tried to motivate them to actually dedicate their precious little time to invest in themselves. Needless to say, I was right, and those who did not heed to my advice, let's say, are having a rough time. Other than that, I made some unfunny dad jokes regularly that required at least two "cognitive jumps".

Anyway, humor alone is not sufficient, so I am turning to your help.

trivia stuff What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not? If you are not working, what kind of job do you want to do or what are you studying?

I am currently studying in college to become a language teacher, and I must say I like it. It's my utmost desire to produce high-achieving students. Additionally, I want to master the languages I am currently learning, at least level C1.

Describe your childhood/upbringing. Did it have any kind of ideological or structured influence? How did you respond to it? Did you have any significant negative experiences that may have affected how you think or behave?

I don't really like how I was brought up by my parents. Any mistake resulted in yelling, or in worst case, beating. As I was the eldest son in my family, all responsibilities fell on my shoulders.

Do you have any mental or physical health issues that might affect how think or choose to live? Provide a brief description.

I might have undiagnosed ADHD. I have a diagnosed friend and our behavior sometimes overlaps.

If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?

I would feel lonely (if I had no plans whatsoever) and refreshed (only if the weekday was tiring).

What is your relation with movement and your surroundings? For instance do you prefer a sport or outdoors event? If an outdoors event what is it? And why? If not what type of activities do you tend to engage?

I love volleyball or any other sports activity, but I don't get to play them often because of my tight schedule. The reason why I love sports is that I can feel the adrenaline.

How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?

I would say I have ideas but not the time. I am curious about, obviously, languages.

Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?

I want to have as many leadership positions as possible. Sounds like what a true masochist would say, but I like to have my schedule packed. Other than that, it helps with my resume and I want my resume to be full of achievements. I don't know how to describe my leadership style.

Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.

I appreciate art, especially baroque. Looking at the pictures, seeing what emotions they convey, I stand amused.

What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?

I don't like being nostalgic, yearning for the past. I just like to move on from past events and focus on the future. I don't feel being at present sometimes.

How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?

I would help them if they are not total strangers and when I am not busy. However, I would dedicate extra amount of care and quality to my help.

Do you need logical consistency in your life?

Yes.

How important is efficiency and productivity to you?

*Also yes.

Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?*

Unfortunately. If I care about them, I want the best for them.

What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?

Chess and retrogaming. I like chess, because I love strategy.

How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?

I love strategizing a lot. This is evident in what type of games I play(ed). As for projects, I usually have a plan on how to execute them, but if things do not go accordingly, I just improvise until I fix the discrepancy in my plan.

What's important to you and why?

It's important to me that I succeed financially. This lets me achieve freedom to some extent.

What are your aspirations?

I aspire to be a total professional in my field. Partly done, though.

What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?

I fear that I am not good enough, not helpful/needed to those around me.

What do the "highs" and "lows" your life look like?

Highs: perfect schedule with no third party interruptions, no burnout and decent amount of sleep

Lows: no schedule (this is me in summer rn basically i hate it), no studying or at least isolating my brain to something, recklessly spending money.

How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?

I think a lot, if that counts.

Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?

I would never open my eyes and have myself as engaged as possible. Perhaps I would have a discussion in my mind to prevent myself from insanity.

Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?

I sometimes agree to just send them off. In any case, I try to correct them and let them continue the convo afterwards.

Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why would you?

I follow rules, but if I find an illogical rule, I have a chat about it with the authority to mend things for better.

What is the ideal life, in your opinion?

Ideal life for me would entail independence and freedom. However, a part of me thinks that egalitarian society is what humanity should strive for.

CAN’T DECIDE Please help with enneagram and mbti!! (INTP or INFP?)

Hi! I’m fairly new to all this stuff so I’m curious to see if anyone could help me figure out my MBTI and enneagram. I struggle a lot with anxiety so I feel a lot of the times when I take tests on this stuff those issues take the forefront and cloud my ability to truly answer the questions truthfully. I’ve gotten INTP the most but also INFP and INTJ before. I’m also very confused with enneagram stuff, since I relate to a lot of different stuff from types 1, 3, 4, and 5 but some of them contradict with my MBTI. Anyways here’s basically most of what I can think about my personality and how I act, please help! 😭

I have a lot of different hobbies, but my most practiced are music (I play the guitar and piano, and I write my own songs), art (sketching, painting, basically anything that requires arts and crafts), and reading. I have an interest in a lot of things and don’t really like sticking to just one passion, so I have lots of hobbies and like basically every subject was my favorite at school. I really love learning in general, but math is obviously the best by FAR. I would say I’m good at problem solving and understanding the underlying processes of situations / systems, or just making things make sense in my head in general (I tend to ask myself why and how about situations that interest me). I’m also pretty creative and imaginative, if not evidenced by my hobbies. I tend to lose myself in passions very easily. I’m a very quick learner but also very fickle with my interests (I can be insanely invested in something for a week and lose interest / move onto something else very quickly). I tend to get distracted easily. I go down Wikipedia rabbit holes easily. I don’t approach things with a step by step approach and tend to jump around until I reach a goal. I’m very organized and like having things under control and orderly. I have a deep attraction to philosophy, literature, art but also mathematics and science (particularly physics & astronomy). I love questioning the unknown and interpreting complex concepts; I’m very curious. That said, I’m very interested in abstract concepts and understanding the way the universe works as well as the human condition. I’m also very interested in acquiring knowledge about various different fields. I find I have a lot of random knowledge and small facts about many things, so I love trivia games or just games that require personal knowledge in general. My favorite offline games are crossword puzzles and sudoku. I like board games that require strategy over luck. I’m attracted to works/books/movies/artworks that make me think deeply, but similarly interested in those that make me feel, just to a slightly lesser extent. I especially love media with moral dilemas and questions about right vs. wrong (such as Death Note and Chronicle of a Death Foretold by G.G. Márquez), even though I have a pretty strong sense of my own interpretation of morality, and if you ask me, I can probably tell you with confidence what side I’m on and why. Still, I love finding nuances in other sides. I’m very uncertain about what the future holds for me and I don’t see myself in one distinct place, nor do I really have a plan for the future. I’m definitely drawn to research related occupations and though I’m not sure in what specially, I know 100% that I do NOT want to be stuck in a typical 9-5 job with rigid structures. I’m a really bad perfectionist, very detail-oriented, and struggle a lot with procrastination and deadlines. I work well under pressure but I crack easily too.

For some general personality stuff, I can confidently say I’m an introvert. I like being alone and solitary activities. I prefer to work alone rather than in a group, since I feel like sometimes other people might drag me down and I have to concede to ideas that aren’t really optimal. However, I don’t see myself as shy or awkward as INTPs are typically portrayed (you know, that standard “nerdy” archetype) and I feel like I can be pretty sociable when I need to. I just have a pretty low social battery and I need to recharge pretty often. I’m generally pretty friendly to most people but I only have a small circle of really close friends that I can truly be myself with. I sometimes blow off plans to be alone. I’m very personable with those I’m not close to and I have a strong desire to people-please in less personal relationships, especially with figures of authority. I tend to read others very well in social interactions, but usually from a place of mistrust or condescension. For example, I can usually tell when someone is lying, can pinpoint the underlying intentions behind someone’s words, and can anticipate how others want me to react in a situation. I still find it hard to be dishonest or manipulative in my own interactions. I’m a very bad liar too. I have a strong sense of empathy but I am terrible at consoling others, so don’t cry in front of me because I’ll probably be unintentionally mean, blunt, or unfeeling about it and I’ll have no idea how to make you feel better. I don’t really want to stand out in any way, and I try to be as meek and unassuming in most social situations. I take questions and doubts about my intelligence very seriously, and I’m not afraid to defend my beliefs and ideas. I typically try to see the good in people but I’m also prone to looking down on others and it’s something I can’t really help doing.

Here comes the more cynical part, or the part that tends to get blurred by my mental struggles. I find it very easy to say bad things about myself, but it’s hard for me to say them in front of others. I sometimes feel I’m wearing a persona that makes me more likable to others than I really am underneath, and it’s hard to let others see those flaws. I have a very guilty conscience, even though I haven’t done anything bad. I have very different personalities with people, especially between friends and family. I tend to get meaner with those I’m closer to and find more things to criticize about them. I’m very avoidant, in regards to relationships and responsibilities. I would rather distract myself with a knowing sense of dread over what I’m avoiding rather than face it head on, even if it would be easier to just get it over with. I’m very individualistic to an almost selfish extent, since I’m very concerned with my own personal interest over those of others even if it hurts them. I tend to freak out when things don’t go my way or I don’t get what I want. I’m very anxious and easily overwhelmed, sometimes feel like my emotions (sadness, anger, anxiety, insecurity, self doubt) are drowning me. I almost constantly want to be reassured by others, but I don’t give that reassurance back easily. I tend to be critical of others but treat them far less harshly than I do myself. I like to be seen as smart and competent by others but often downplay my own achievements in front of others. I feel like if I give people high expectations I’ll only let them down, so I downplay myself just in case I really do fail, which rarely actually happens. I tend to take criticism harshly. I’m very competitive, but more so in the way that I want to be the best. I fear being perceived as not perfect so avoid competitions just because of that chance of failure, no matter how inconsequential. That being said, I hate hate HATE losing, and I’m a very sore loser. I dislike change and leaving my comfort zone even though I have a lot of aspirations because I’m scared I’ll fail. I like winning and being good at the things I’m good at so I avoid whatever I’m not good at. I often try to deflect whenever someone tells me I’m in the wrong or that I’ve made a mistake, and I would rather argue than accept defeat and walk away from conflict. People can’t easily tell when I’m struggling emotionally, and I usually just make a cynical, sarcastic offhand comment and change the conversation when they get too close to being about feelings or if someone asks me if I’m okay. I tend to avoid talking about feelings as much as possible with others, and I feel weak for being vulnerable even if I understand my emotions very well and feel them deeply. I’m very unemotional with others especially when I feel threatened or cornered. I shut down completely when I’m upset. I’m not good at communicating my own emotions with others even though I catalogue them and analyze them deeply inside my mind.

That’s pretty much it. If any additional information is needed, please let me know! Any help would be much appreciated.

Personality Questionnaire

  1. When you're under a lot of stress, what changes about you? What do you find yourself thinking, doing, or avoiding?

When I'm stressed, I tend to go quiet and ignore everything around me. I try to come up with a plan, and if someone is talking to me, I might shut them out. I'll also try to find ways to lie my way out of the situation or avoid it altogether.

  1. What are you usually chasing in life? If everything went perfectly for you over the next 10 years, what would you have that would make you think, "Yeah, this is the life I wanted"?

I don't think that would happen because I always see imperfection. If everything were "perfect," I'd probably get bored. I like understanding imperfect things and figuring out how to improve or fix them.

  1. What's a situation that makes you feel genuinely uncomfortable or threatened—not physically, but psychologically?

I'm not sure. I'd need to think about it more.

  1. Think of a time you were really proud of yourself. What happened, and why did it matter so much?

I'm proud of myself when I write a really good piece of writing or come up with a super original, smart idea or perspective.

  1. When someone disagrees with you, how do you usually respond? What determines whether you argue, let it go, or change your mind?

When someone disagrees with me, I evaluate what they're saying. If it doesn't make logical sense, I'll explain why and challenge their argument. I'll usually ask them questions too. There are some topics where I'm open to hearing other perspectives, but often I've already thought through multiple sides before the conversation even starts.

  1. What kind of people frustrate you the most? What is it about them that gets under your skin?

People frustrate me when they say really unintelligent things, eat with bad manners, or claim to believe something they've never actually questioned. If you've never examined your beliefs, I don't really see them as your beliefs.

  1. When you're alone for an entire day with nothing you have to do, what naturally happens? Where does your mind go?

It depends on my mood. I might binge-watch a show, or I might spend the whole day researching something that interests me.

  1. What's something you secretly worry people might think about you, even if you don't show it?

That I'm dumb and unoriginal.

  1. Tell me about a decision you made that most people around you wouldn't have made. Why did you make it?

There are a lot of times when I lie my way out of things instead of just admitting the truth. I'm very self-aware about it. I don't really try to change it because it doesn't affect or hurt anyone except myself, and it gives me a more comfortable lifestyle.

  1. If you could permanently remove one feeling or problem from your life, what would it be?

I'd remove my subconscious need for validation.

  1. When you become interested in something, what does that process look like from beginning to end? Do you obsess, experiment, collect information, lose interest, stick with it, or something else?

This is basically me with Enneagram right now. I just keep gathering more information and asking more questions forever.

  1. What motivates you more: curiosity, achievement, freedom, connection, security, authenticity, influence, peace, or something else? Explain why.

Curiosity.

  1. When do you feel the most like yourself? Describe a moment or environment where you feel completely natural.

I feel the most like myself on Reddit.

  1. What's one belief about yourself that has stayed surprisingly consistent throughout your life?

I love my beliefs. I think they're backed by evidence and logic. For example, I'm agnostic.

  1. If everyone forgot who you were tomorrow, what would you miss the most?

My best friend.

Bonus Question: Imagine someone tells you, "For the next six months, you have unlimited free time. You can do absolutely anything you want." What do you actually end up doing, and why?

I'd go into Hogwarts and go straight to Potions because I like how versatile it is.

  1. You're given a mystery that can never be completely solved. Do you keep investigating forever because the process is enjoyable, eventually lose interest because there's no conclusion, or do something else? Explain.

A.

  1. Imagine someone proves one of your strongest beliefs wrong with overwhelming evidence. What happens next?

I feel betrayed, but I separate my feelings and explore deeper into their viewpoint. Then I might feel I don't have enough info, so I don't make a judgment and gather more. When I feel confident, I make an informed judgment.

  1. What makes an idea feel beautiful to you?

It's creative, unique, and logical.

  1. Which bothers you more: being misunderstood, being underestimated, being controlled, being ignored, or being ordinary? Explain why.

Can't choose one.

  1. When you meet someone who's much smarter than you in a subject you care about, what's your first reaction?

I would be amazed and sad, and then try to be more competent.

  1. If someone copied one of your ideas and got all the credit, what would bother you the most?

I used all my time to come up with it.

  1. Which sounds more satisfying: building one incredibly deep area of expertise or knowing a little about hundreds of things?

Knowing more about everything.

  1. When do you know you've understood something? What feeling tells you, "I finally get it"?

Idk.

  1. What kinds of compliments actually stay with you?

The ones that make me feel very understood and seen.

  1. What's a topic where you've completely changed your mind over time? What caused the change?

Atheist to agnostic because it's okay to not make judgments without info.

  1. Do you enjoy debating because you enjoy winning, testing ideas, seeing how other people think, the challenge, or something else?

Testing ideas, seeing how other people think, then winning.

  1. Suppose you had to choose one forever: always have original ideas that nobody appreciates, or always have average ideas that everyone loves?

Original ideas that nobody appreciates.

  1. If every answer to every question in the universe suddenly became available, would you actually want to know all of them? Why or why not?

Well, I know I wouldn't be able to search up every answer, so I'll try and get everything that interests me and spend days on it.

  1. Imagine your best friend starts believing something you think is obviously false. How would you approach that conversation?

Challenge her beliefs and get annoyed.

  1. Finish this sentence: "People should question..."

Their beliefs.

  1. You're transported into a gigantic library containing every book ever written and every book that could ever be written. What's the first section you walk toward, and why?

Magic.

  1. You discover that a belief you've held for years is impossible to prove or disprove. What do you do?

Suspend judgment.

  1. Which frustrates you more: someone making a logical mistake, someone refusing to listen to evidence, or someone pretending to know more than they do? Why?

Someone pretending to know more than they do.

  1. When you start researching something, what usually makes you stop?

I never really feel done.

  1. If you had to erase either your creativity or your analytical ability, which would you keep?

Neither. I might as well die.

  1. Suppose everyone suddenly agreed with every opinion you had. Would conversations become more enjoyable or less enjoyable?

Less.

my name is kenna, i enjoy studying the paranormal and deep diving into different ideas and perspectives. i enjoy learning new things, being creative, listening to music, and being my own authentic true self. i am an empath and a reliable resource for people. at first glance, i appear reserved and emotionally closed off, when i open up to people, my true personality is showed. others often describe me as sensitive, generous, curious, brutally honest, and emotionally intelligent. i have a passion for spirituality and i am not afraid to be my true self in front of others. i enjoy my alone time dearly; sometimes i take that privilege to my advantage and forget about my potential. i tend to be an anxious person in big groups, i strive to outgrow this day by day. i love all animals, i imagine owning many animals when i am older; i am not interested in children. some bands i enjoy are: pierce the veil, slipknot, nirvana, korn, green day, tv girl, the neighborhood, and deftones. i love expressing my inner self through my wardrobe and personality. i prefer to stand out from others, no matter the cost. i always am willing to stand up for what i believe in, for example: lgbtq+ rights, women healthcare, anti-ice, and anti-maga. i strive to understand things no matter how complicated they are; i sometimes over analyze things to better understand them. in relationships, i used to be a pushover; i believed it i stayed quiet, things would get better. i’ve been in a few relationships since then and have realized i need to put my needs above my comfort. i now stand up for myself as much as i can, and plan to more in the future.

So basically I had been bouncing from ENTP and ENFP with INTP and INTJ being tucked in the back of my mind. I want to see what yall think because this stuff is kinda beyond me lol. Ive heard some people say ESFJ, others ISTJ, some say i fit ENTP, someone else said INFP, some tests point to ENFP. I mean, I know i dont relate to ESFJ or ISTJ but as for ENTP, ENFP, INTP, and INTJ I do feel like I have a good chance of being them all but. I also remember asking a question related to ENTPs and was told to study the functions like I havent been doing that for the past week😭😭😭 like THAT AINT HELPING OMG😭😭😭 anyway any interpretations help!❤️

CAN’T DECIDE Need help with my typing

Hello. First of all, in Enneagram and Tritype I'm a 6w5, 694. So, because of this, I often don't have "faith" in myself. For example, I mostly get INFJ in tests (in one I got ISFJ), although I have difficulties answering the questions in the tests because most of the time I'm something like this: "It depends on the context and situation how exactly I react." So, I have moments in which I'm confident that I'm an INFJ, and moments (like right now) in which I doubt myself that I'm an INFJ. This makes me a little stressed out because of how uncertain I feel (as I said, it's the 6w5 in myself acting up 🤣), so can someone help me better understand which type fits me best? I have basic knowledge of cognitive function.

I attached a photo with my own notes from math class. So a little (most likely a long one 😅) background of the photo:

In middle school and high school I was average at math, although most of the time I had difficulties understanding how exactly to do the exercises. At that time, my IQ was around 95, I think. I did an official IQ test two years ago (I'm 27) and I got 120. After I finished high school, I went to a polytechnic university (not a difficult one, it was something between management and electrical, electronic and energy field). I liked the laboratories and I was good at them, but I had a class named "linear algebra, analytic and differential geometry", in which I basically failed the exam 3 or 4 times in a row. My brother tried to help me understand, but I just couldn't. It's because I just couldn't understand how you got from point A to point B, how exactly is the formula applied in the exercise? Then I dropped out of that university and I went to business administration.

There I had math again and the course was almost identical. At the new university it was during COVID lockdown, so we had the classes online, on Teams. And guess what? At this university, learning online from the teacher, my final grade at math was 10 out of 10. I was able to understand math very well. The photo is from one of the math classes from this new university.

I like things that stimulate my thinking, although I don't like things too complex. I need alone time to recharge myself, although I can be pretty outspoken with the right people, although I never want good at coming up with subject to talk.

I attached the photo with my results from key2cognition. From the group photo I'm the shortest one.

P.S. The one in the rectangle is the formula and below is the exercise. I basically tried to point out each part of the exercise and its equivalent part in the formula for me to be better able to understand the formula later on, if I ever had to relearn. And just so you know, I'm pretty confident that I have Fe. And I also have HSP.

CAN’T DECIDE Advice on Interpreting Types and how the Functions Work Together

I have been trying to delve deeper into MBTI and the cognitive functions to figure out my type but keep running into the same issue that I wish to solve, that being how to apply what I’m researching to myself. I’ve always struggled with perceiving myself, so along with looking into different sites and video’s explanations, I’ve also sought out advice of those who I believe know me the most to gather their two cents on me. The issue is that they all have given me different answers and explanations that contradict what others have said along with my own thoughts about what the correct answer of my type could be. Granted not all of them know or understand MBTI or the cognitive functions well and just researched it to entertain myself/my inquiry, so their perception of me or their understanding of the theory could be flawed as well. I just want to pick a type and be correct so I don’t have to go back and forth, and I take stock in their answers since I know truth is different from subjective truth, and I want my objectively true type that cannot be challenged by others. If anyone has any advice on where else I can research or things about myself I could look deeper into I’d appreciate it.

Also the answers I’ve been given so far, at least most consistently, by those I’ve asked to research this, or know a little about it have given me (in no particular order) INFJ, INFP, ENTP, and ISTJ

NEED CONFIRMATION Do I have Fe?

I’ve always thought I was INFP/ISTJ, but sometimes I think I act like I have Fe:
When I was young I was always very sensitive to how people react to what I say, even now I care a lot about not offending the person I talk to. I used to try to change the way I talk so I could be viewed as nice/cool to all people. I wouldn’t say I go out of my way to help people/have the desire to help people, but I definitely feel really shitty when I feel like I was mean to someone.
But I also have the desire to act like myself, and I often struggle between the duality of wanting everyone to like me and also wanting to be my innate self.
I’m kinda new to mbti so I was wondering if it seems like this is Fe or Fi.

CAN’T DECIDE Can't decide on an mbti type

I am pushing 30, unemployed, I try to think logically and flex that muscle without letting go off my emotions because I'm not a robot. I get bored of games easily unless it has a compelling story. I am impulsive about food. And I like talking to people in person. When I play competitive games I don't care about winning and usually spice things up to make it more fun like break rules or intentionally lie. I am highly expressive around people I'm close to but it still seeps through in public when I joke around. I try to keep things lighthearted most of the time, but when something serious comes up I know how to switch gears. I am a multidisciplinary artist, I can draw, paint, compose music, write fiction, play guitar, piano, and drums. My grades were terrible in school but I ended up being a late bloomer and started having more intellectual curiosity later on in life. I like learning new things every day no matter what it is. I have a hard time keeping a routine by myself, but can follow routines people make for me (e.g. schedules in school and work) because I am accountable for other people's expectations. I am more lenient with myself.

Also here are some thoughts:

I am always going in circles, and it's a neverending cycle of identifying with one type and later on changing to another one. At this point, I have identified with every single mbti type throughout my 7 years since starting to get to know about this typology system.

People keep saying to read about the cognitive functions, but sometimes there are different interpretations depending on the site I'm reading. Some people say you don't usually know your dominant function because it's subconscious and comes naturally to you, some people say it's the function you notice the most, some people say it's a function you use ever since you were little, and it just goes on and on. Some people say the inferior function is what you use when you're stressed, some say it's something you're not good at using, or heck it can even be both depending who you talk to.

There are also people that say mbti is actually a preference and not exactly what cognitive function you actually use. I don't know what I should believe anymore.

There is no one way to act as an mbti type, because people say you could be one type and lean more towards another type depending on your state of mind etc. and it just introduces a whole new system again.

There is no strong source I can pinpoint to actually get to the bottom of this. What the system was initially by the mother and daughter duo sounded more like the big five but in different letters.

I don't know why I even take this pseudoscience so seriously. It can help with self reflection, sure but I feel like I get further and further away from my core self when I dive into mbti.

Personality can change but there's a core trait that makes you, you. I can't figure out what exactly that is for me... My energy? My optimism?

Anyway folks, that's all I have to say right now. Would love to discuss further in the comments.

FOR FUN Type mee

Hello, I recently turned 17, I’m in 11th grade and live in a small German village. I like to play guitar, do philosophy, play video games, listen to music and put something interesting I’ve found into my collection of interesting things. Since I’m a student, I don’t work (and can’t find a student job) but I want to find things out as a job so I want to become a scientist in psychology because I think the human mind is very interesting. I also like to go on medieval markets because they are fun. I want to know a lot of things so I use google a lot to answer questions I have. I also really love animals and have two cute cats. I say I dislike horses and they’re sus but I don’t actually mean it. I like horses too. I am (obviously) goth so i appreciate the art surrounding it. I like gothic rock but also more obscure regional artists. I also play guitar in a goth band (can’t tell exactly what). I think about philosophy a lot and I also like to read philosophy. I dream of a fair and ethical world. I also like to see new things like when I saw tiny crabs and fossils or visit a museum. I like a lot of things. I like my friends, my school (especially german and chemistry), my teachers, my mom, my cats, music, anime, Reddit and museums. I often walk in a circle or spin myself. I don’t know more to say so that’s all. Of course I show you my cats. If you have any questions then ask them and I’ll do my best to answer. Bye bye!

FOR FUN Type Me based on this somewhat brief but thorough description

(ive fixed a few errors in this but honestly I give up fixing the rest. Pretty sure my brain turned off while typing this)

To throw some "ideas" out there, I have been told and typed, whether that is by myself, friends, AI or tests as the following: INTP, ISTJ, INTJ, ENTJ, ISTP, INFJ, ISFP.

Clearly some Fi-functioning typings there aye?

I would describe myself as an antisocial person (not the psych reading) over introverted. I typically refrain from interacting with people unless necessary, whether that is from me wanting to gain something from or through them, or because they may be an interesting person that I may get along with. Whenever I am not engaging with another person, I am solely focused on my own activities, which I will briefly describe below:

Gaming - One if not my only major pass times. Until Elden Ring, I usually played games to completion so 100% and done, or to attain a certain rank within a game, such as Valorant, League, Overwatch and so forth. I tend to do this with the idea of creating content out of the videos while playing, but never do so. As I tend to think of "ideas" or things that may get me content "efficiently" so to speak, but never go through with it. So playing for ranks or completing games feels quite shallow as I did not go through with the plan or benefit from doing so. As for Elden Ring, it was the first game that has ever challenged my patience. Each death becomes a lesson, whether that may be learning a boss attack, how or when they do it or just ensuring I don't start throwing a tantrum at my own incompetence. However, I am still playing it to completion, which I may quit the game entirely, or enjoy it in a different playstyle.

Chess -- Not exactly a hobby of main, but similar to games I do it for Elo Rating over enjoyment. One thing that annoys me, is reaching a new high only to get put to a new low (losing 80-100 Elo right after). Usually I spend time certain openings, tend to sticking to aggressive or counter-aggressive openings the most. If my opponent wont attack, I will sort of mindset.

Working -- I enjoy working because of the idea of money, not for the work itself. However, due to recent circumstances, a new position has opened up to me which has allowed for development. Before, I was not fond of working because of how stale it felt and the lack of progress I was making. This lack of progress caused me to chase dopamine, such as completing games to 100%, which as previously mentioned, resorted to me feeling empty.

Now for how I think.

On a daily basis I tend to do what works, if I have time to relax, I do so. If I am required to plan I do so. However, if I feel like progress is not being made, I begin planning and executing on the double. I often enjoy planning ahead, it brings a sense of ease knowing where my life or goals are heading, and I usually find clarity in my plans whenever I actually start them, but often find myself hesitating due to missing a piece to the puzzle.

One of my plans are to ensure I am hired when finishing university, and to do that I am currently working towards achieving all the technical skills, such as programming, excel and so much more, though some are these arent entirely important but they can increase my odds. Whereas academic and practical skills are more likely to increase my odds, due to having the knowledge and experience of it. However, my current part-time job does not complement my future career, so my intention is to land a position of leadership or management, where I may be directly involved with customers and directing coworkers. This is a somewhat difficult task though, as finding that position in my current workplace is a waiting list, and finding a new job that will hire me as a student, is already a task in itself.

Due to that part of my plan not working out how I want it, it causes me to get annoyed and not feel relaxed even if there are not current issues at hand. Once I have a clear and not obscure pathway ahead of me, then I feel content. I usually do things for reason over enjoyment, but do not mistake that for never doing things for fun.

For friends, I often try to organise activities with them if I am able to do so. However, if the activity can be done alone, then I shall. An example of this is me planning to go to an asian country next year, and at first I was thinking of going alone, but then I thought "I probably wont find much to do alone" as I can be quite objective, so I then asked some friends to come and a few of them agreed. More the merrier. If there is chaos, there is enjoyment, but since I tend to do things linearly, chaos is not really apart of my daily life.

A more passive plan, is that the money gained is put into savings rather than spent. As I am ensuring I have as much money as possible for when I graduate. Already having a large portion of savings, now allows me to follow through with driving lessons, that I put off until necessary as I had no use for a car as public transport was convenient and cost-efficient.

TEST RESULTS Please help me in interpreting my Sakinorva results. Thank you 😊

I took the 90-question Sakinorva test for the first time as I got suggestions of trying Cognitive Functions baser MBTI tests as they're comparatively more accurate and the paid tests are pretty costly, and my results are very confusing to me. Earlier, I used to rely on 16 Personalities and figured out how superficial that website is. Let's jump back to my Sakinorva results.....

grant function type: ENTP

second-best choice: INFJ

third-best choice: ENFP

fourth-best choice: INTJ

fifth-best choice: ISTP

sixth-best choice: INTP

axis-based function type: ENTJ

myers function type: ENTJ

relativemyers letter type: INTJ

  • Ne (extraverted intuition): 39.8
  • Ni (introverted intuition): 41.8
  • Se (extraverted sensing): 37
  • Si (introverted sensing): 27
  • Te (extraverted thinking): 39
  • Ti (introverted thinking): 43
  • Fe (extraverted feeling): 39
  • Fi (introverted feeling): 40Because it is my first time testing here, I am having a lot of difficulty interpreting my ultimate MBTI type. I heard cognitive-based tests are more accurate, but these mixed signals have left me lost. I would be truly grateful if you could help me decode these results in the comments!

I will answer every comment and tell you if you’re right or wrong. If you want to guess enneagram you can too!

Here’s a description to make this post a bit more serious and also fill the 400 words requirement to not get my post deleted:

I’m the kind of person who looks calm on the outside but has a brain that is constantly running in the background. I notice details, patterns, changes in people’s behavior, and the little things that others often ignore. Once something catches my attention, I tend to analyze it from every angle until I feel like I understand what’s really going on (or not).

I care a lot about competence and authenticity. I want to be good at what I do, and I get the most satisfaction from seeing that my efforts mattered. Compliments only really matter to me when they’re about something I’ve genuinely worked hard for. At the same time, I can be surprisingly hard on myself and sometimes avoid situations where I might discover that I’m not as capable as I hoped.

Autonomy is huge for me. I hate feeling trapped, useless, or too dependent on others. That’s probably why I’m drawn to activities that make me feel engaged land in control of myself like sports, competitive games, driving, learning new skills, anything that gives me a sense of agency and makes me feel good after.

Emotionally, I’m deeper than I first appear. I get attached strongly but selectively, and loyalty means a lot to me. Being misunderstood, especially having bad intentions attributed to me, hurts me a lot. When emotions become overwhelming, my reflex is often to step back and analyze them rather than express them immediately.

Overall, I’m a curious, driven, self-reflective person who wants to improve, stay capable, understand myself honestly, and be deeply loyal to the people I truly care about.
