Spider-Showdown is an official tournament made by and with Second Dinner and by the same organizers who planned Golden Gauntlet prior. Registrations are open till 22th July 17:00 (UTC -7) !

In this version I decided to only change the characters,their texts and stats were untouched.

So not every repeated character was included but I have my reasonings for that:

-Cap Sam,Iron Fist:Lin Lie,Agent Venom and Punisher:War Machine are all characters we already have in the game but they take a different mantle,making them justifiable enough to stay.

-Rocket & Groot,Galacti and the Sinister Six are all a group of characters and I feel like that's what makes them unique enough.

-The Zombies are all staying because I don't feel like they are as forced as the MCU tie-ins and provide an interesting mechanic with Horde (Even if I'm still dissapointed by the choices from the Zombies vs Vampires season).

-MOTS,Weapon X,SL Daredevil and Symbiote are all using designs and powers different enough from their original counterparts.

-The prehistoric Avengers,Doom '99,Spider-Punk,Spider-Man Noir and Cosmic Ghost Rider are all different iterations of the characters from another universe.

-Banner and Ross are okay since they are the civilian counterpart of Hulk and Red Hulk,making them different enough to me.

Tell me if I'm missing someone.

The only card here that creates cards is Thanos. All the Infinity Stones are one cost, so Quinjet has no effect. Am I missing something?

Here’s all the 8 champions for this run of Grand Arena mixed with the rules of Sanctum Showdown

Feel 90% of my matches are against this guy, there's just no variety. I understand past Sanctums tend to be like this where it narrows down to a few decks, but this is kind of ridiculous. I already missed Team Clash.

What do you think? Is it a good counter to Affliction meta?

Because it's fun. There are of course many options to play. But I make the argument C5 is fun. Shame no Sera, but we got Fallen One.

. . . has the champions banned from appearing in non-champion decks.

Even when the champion in question isn't playable in this Grand Arena.

Case in point: Hulk is banned.

SD didn't bother curating the ban list. They simply smooshed together the GA and SS mode lists and called it a day. And this is the latest in a long line of LTGM issues not getting handled (recall post-rework Debrii being on the ban list for two additional LTGMs).

Things are clearly tight at SD but we should encourage them to get someone to spare an hour to clean this sort of thing up. And champions shouldn't be banned save in their own decks, as with the Team Clash variants and their originals.

Played about 30 matches so far. All but three have been against doom. Who would have thought that a free 5 power in every lane on turn 2 would be too strong in a mode about lane prioritization??

This current disaster proves more than any other mode before that SD doesn’t even attempt to balance or play test their own game. This was incredibly foreseeable and completely avoidable.

I’m sorry but are they employing literal idiots? I can’t see any other way this happened.

Edit as there seems to be some confusion: my issue is not with doom 2099, if I cared about that I would just run enchantress and rogue and be done with the entire issue. The problem is regular doom’s champion spell card is far too strong for the mode now that they’ve added the sanctum scoring. 5 power in each lane on turn 2 essentially guarantees you 1 point on turn two and 2-6 points on turn 3. Meaning most of the time you’re having to play catch up the whole game if you’re not using doom to open. Sure it plays easily into doom 2099 but that’s manageable. Most of the champions require ramp time to be strong while doom allows you to come out of the gate in the lead.

They are bringing a Prehistoric Pack with Savage Land Ka-Zar and Storm from a very old Season Pass, but no Savage Land Zabu (from that same Season Pass).

I've been holding onto the hope of owning this variant ever since they first started bringing old Season Pass variants back in packs. I've been saving my tokens ever since, waiting for the day they'd release a Savage Land bundle so I could finally get my hands on this sick kitty. Now my dream is in shambles.

If Shield Throw is your fourth card at a location it will not add an Ongoing card. This may be obvious (and I think the old Carnage spell had the same issue), but I thought I'd give a heads up, since this is different from how a card like Adamantium Infusion works.

I have far too many rainbow type borders and I would like to use them without having to shift to refraction. more whimsy please!

Weekend mission card in grand arena

I just came back to snap from a multi month hiatus and im quite frankly shocked to see his change. Im a huge spiderman fan the actually hero not just the character in the game so i use move decks alot to incorporate my love for spidey characters but i feel 2099 is not as strong as he once was and lowkey i feel gwen is useless too now

Not the best cards but 2 S5 and 1 S4 in a single collector pack is kinda nice

Just like the title says. Why do people take the entire time to either not play a card, or play 1 card when the time runs out?
