The map reflects reported diplomatic positions in 2010, not necessarily the current stance of every country. I’d be interested to know which positions have changed since then.

Made this after realizing Nolan's Odyssey was shot across six countries that don't overlap with where the story is traditionally set.

The locations in the movie are beautiful and dramatic and allow for one to be fully immersed in the story; this is all for sheer curiosities sake. Also loved reading the Odyssey as a kid and never watched any of the other interpretations filmed.

This is an interactive map with two toggleable routes: the mythic journey (Troy → Ithaca, 14 stops, using the commonly cited traditional locations; these are debated among classicists, Homer's geography wasn't meant to be literal) and the actual 2025 shooting locations Nolan's production used (Morocco, Greece, Sicily, Iceland, Scotland, Western Sahara, and reshoots in LA).

The map shows where each national team was based during the 2026 World Cup group stage. Each team played three matches at 16 venues across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. As a result, fans who wanted to follow their team throughout the tournament faced dramatically different travel requirements. Egypt's supporters had the shortest journey, traveling just 240 miles to follow their team from Seattle to Vancouver and back to Seattle, while the team itself had only a short trip to its home base in Spokane, Washington (red dashed line). Weird that the fires are starting miles apart in a diagonal line, it gives the impression that there is some level of coordination involved.
