Thank you so kindly for all of your well wishes 🩷 I do not want anyone to be judgmental of me. The issue is kind of long and ridiculously dramatic. I'm not certain that it can actually be resolved, to be honest...

...but I wanted to post something so that you at least know that my little girl is okay for now.
I take better care of my little girl than most people take care of their toenails! I take better care of my little girl than most people take care of brushing their teeth. I want to make that perfectly clear, to start off with. I don't want any judgment because of the fact that cancer treatment destroyed my finances and insides and I lost my job over it so I can't afford things now. The only thing that I have in my entire life now is my little girl and she means more to me than you can possibly imagine.
TwinkleBelles comes BEFORE ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING at all in my life and ALWAYS will.
This whole thing of insanity started when those horrible people that hung a shingle outside calling themselves "veterinarians" on February 19th, my birthday so I remember it extraordinarily well, just a couple of years ago, when they stabbed her at the base of her spine with some gigantic dose of rabies shot and she had that tremendous stroke that you all helped us through.
I made numerous posts about it and everyone here was so very kind in getting us through. Even the good Veterinarians that I took her to after that didn't think that she was going to survive but she did. It is both a terrible thing and a good thing that I was not able to work because of the cancer treatment at that time.
I have enormous doubts that she would have made it through if I were not with her 24/7 like I was. I could not bear the thought of my little girl being gone especially because of those idiots. Not being able to work was a both a tremendous blessing and a horrible curse.
I literally started crying just now when I glanced over at her precious little body, seeing her precious little chest go up and down, tuning into her tiny little sweet snores, knowing that she's still alive, thinking how close she came to not being here any longer.
It is like a broken record with me since they did that to her... I am almost continually checking her to make certain that she's still breathing and what color her gums are and if her eyes are white or surrounded by yellow.
Those bad veterinarians, and what they did to her, have made a veritable nut bag out of me! 😵💫
She had recovered quite well from the major stroke. I would be very generous in saying that about 95% recovered. She still couldn't jump like she used to though but that tiny little body sure tries. She has not lost her love and spunk. She is still my little TwinkleBelles that I have always loved.
The issue is her teeth.
I am quite well aware that everybody reading this doesn't know the whole history so I will just be in brevity... I normally groom her myself before I had the back surgery in December. Prior to that I was bathing her and I went to brush her teeth and I found an enormous abscess on her molar. I don't think that anybody could have been more off the wall hysterical if they were being paid to try.
One of my best friends came flying over because I called her and I was absolutely beyond hysterical.
Her normal Veterinarian moved out of town so I did the best I could and found a veterinarian that I'd been to in the past with Maltese dogs that I really liked. I had to drive almost 40 mi just to get to him and it turns out that he had changed quite a bit and he doesn't care about dogs anymore. In fact, it seems like his goal was killing mine. It was an horrific experience and, yes, I DO know why they did tried to kill her but this is not the platform to air that
To skip to the point... that "veterinarian" office caused a great deal of damage to her so her teeth could not be focused on any longer. The focus had to be on saving her life. The only things that could be done was to give her gabapentin for pain and antibiotics for the teeth.
The infection very rapidly spread across her gums and jaw lines. It is actually amazing to me how rapidly something like that can spread. I have actually been hoping that her darling little teeth fall out by themselves because she cannot undergo anesthetic.
It started from one little abscess that could have been controlled if I had not taken her to that rotten thing that calls themselves "veterinarians" and developed into an entire lifetime of infection.
My fellow Maltese Mommies and Daddies, please make sure that you read things that I'm typing with extreme caution and learn from the pearls of wisdom that I put forth that I have experienced in my life. Veterinarians do not solve everything but human beings that have experienced things solve about 90% or more.
Her Breeder, who I miss terribly, Cathy Taylor, who is now with the Angels, made it extraordinarily clear to me that she cannot undergo anesthetic and she was not to be given a second rabies shot after her baby rabies shot. The reason is that the same dose is completely irrelevant to a dog's weight or the effectiveness of the shot and there are some tiny bloodlines that cannot tolerate repeated doses. Titus testing proves that the rabies shot is effective for a lifetime when given to a puppy, at least in the bloodline that I'm talking about.
There is absolutely nothing I can do about this situation except to possibly ask her veterinarian to provide antibiotics for her but I cannot afford to bring her in just to get the basic antibiotic. I don't have any credit cards anymore and no longer have my job so I just can't come up with the money. She no longer appears or smells to have any evidence of bacterial infection so I think it's passed.
The tooth that I was MOST concerned about looks like it's missing. I don't know if she spit it somewhere on the carpet or if she swallowed it or what the heck happened to it but I'm glad that it's gone.
I have not been able to go into her pretty little mouth to check out the rest of her teeth because she has started trying to bite me if I try to do that. My thoughts are that her little gums are tender.
She is able to eat her steak and chomp on her chewy chompies and everything like that without complaining. I do cut her steak into slightly smaller chomps, for lack of a better word 🙄, than I used to, just because I fear if she can't chew them up completely that she could choke but she inhales her whole little dish, all 3.5 ounces almost instantaneously.
I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW WONDERFUL ALL OF YOU WERE! THANK YOU! 🩷
