Anyone else get hit with the sass leg?

Hi everyone,
My 4.5-month-old Italian Greyhound has recently started having these brief episodes (see videos).
He makes 3–5 quick head/neck jerks, stays fully conscious and responsive, and immediately goes back to normal afterwards.
Some details:
Only his head/neck move, not his body.
Mostly happens while relaxing or cuddling, sometimes when I gently stroke his neck.
Never happens while running or playing.
Eating, drinking, walking and behaving completely normally otherwise.
My breeder mentioned Head Bobbing Syndrome, but I have no idea if that’s actually what this is.
We already have a vet appointment tomorrow, so I’m not looking for a diagnosis—I’m just wondering:
Has anyone seen something similar in an Italian Greyhound or another breed? What was the diagnosis?

Our little goofball is 2 years old today!! He’s grown into such a sweet, loyal, loving companion. Iggies are such tough puppies to raise (or at least Jimmy was lol) but the time and effort is immensely worth it! We love our little guy. I can’t believe he’s already going gray around his eyes and nose tho 😭

She's only 2 months old and very curious (she love to taste plants as you can see haha).

For now, she's still living with her parents and her two sisters, enjoying every moment with the family. We'll be bringing her home in about one month, and we honestly can't wait...

These next few weeks are so important for her to keep learning from her mom, dad, and siblings before starting her new adventure with us, she lives 30 minutes away from us, so we visit her quite frequently!

I’m continuing my research of the Italian Greyhound breed! I’m pretty interested in getting a puppy. I just had a lengthy and informative conversation with a breeder, and I was able to learn a lot! However, I have a few more specific questions…

•Will it be ok for my puppy/dog to interact with kids (if it’s on a leash?)

•How often does an Italian Greyhound need to go to the vet (for routine stuff)?

•Is a home with stairs ok? Will I have to carry the puppy up the stairs? How about when it’s full-grown?

•How can I socialize the puppy to meet strangers and other dogs?

•What is the monthly cost of owning a puppy?

•How can an Italian Greyhound travel safely in the car?

Hi! I’m a big advocate for ethical breeding, and a friend of a friend is considering getting an Italian Greyhound from Desert Iggys in Joshua Tree.
I’ve been trying to find firsthand experiences from people who’ve purchased from them, but I haven’t found much. My concerns stem from the apparent lack of publicly available health testing and seeing multiple litters advertised on their Instagram. I’d love to hear from anyone who has personally purchased a puppy from them, or who knows someone who has.
This isn’t meant to shame anyone who has bought from them. Ethical breeding isn’t discussed nearly enough, and many people simply don’t know what to look for when choosing a breeder. I’m just hoping to gather honest experiences and more information

I know iggys are naturally skinny, but wondering if mine but might be too skinny? She’s 8 months and I know she’s growing and might fill up a bit more, but thoughts?

I think I can see a lot of her ribs plus her hip bones and I’m not sure if that’s healthy? She’s also full of energy and otherwise a healthy and playful puppy

Hey everyone. I have an iggy who is now 6.5mths old, Her name is Mena. Long story short-ish I had asked her Vet if we could hold off on the rabies shot till she was about 8/10 months old and was told no for all the legal reasons and then finally they used well you take her to daycare and you never know what could happen. So I gave in and let them when she was 4mths old. (Please no negative comments because I feel a tremendous about of regret.) so that was on May 4th. On May 16th her knee has swollen up and she was holding her leg up. After sedation and X-rays, they came back clean for breaks, fractures and muscle tears, but the swollen knee has fluid surrounding it. I was referred to a specialist for joint traps. Got those done and the diagnosis was IMPA (immune mediated polyarthritis). She’s currently on steroids and is on her 3rd tapper down since the onset. This poor girl has stopped socializing because she is immunocompromised at this time. Will this be her life going forward after the steroid treatment? Does anyone have any tips for rebuilding her immune system? TIA

Isn’t this a peaceful scene? 😂 You should have seen it a few minutes prior. The brand new puppy girl blew it up in her xpen. Poop on the walls, poop 3 feet out on the floor, the door and every rung of the pen. The pen floor looked like a brown oriental rug.

Hi all.

This group is full of helpful people so I'm hoping someone can give me some advice.

My Iggy needs her nails cut. Have had a few unsuccessful tries at the vets and they have given up trying ☹️. She gets absolutely petrified as soon as they touch her to the point where everyone is distressed and she is wriggling and impossible to hold. The ONLY time they've cut her nails is whilst she was under sedation for surgery - which obviously isn't an option!

Do you have any advice for how I can trim her nails at home? She allows me to touch her feet but that's because I'm not coming at her with a big cutter. I don't want to ruin her trust in me.

Ok does anyone have experience with this??

My girl has started lifting her legs to things. I understand that female dogs also mark but I have had dogs my entire life, and worked in shelters on and off for most of my life (starting at 8 years old) and I can’t think of a single time I have witnessed that particular behavior in a female dog. I assumed it was the male terrier doing it, but she did it right in front of me the other day. She is well trained and does not do this in public, not even at the pet store where I assume other dogs do all the time, and she never used to do it at home. We had her regular vet check not too long ago where they screened everything and she was fine so I really don’t want to pay for another just to hear the same thing. The other dog is not new.

Any ideas as to what is going on with her?

Hello! I was wondering how well everyone's iggy has potty trained. My girl just turned one at the beginning of last month, and she is completely crate trained and she knows a couple other commands as well, the only thing we are still struggling with is her potty training.

She gets a walk in the morning, and when we get home from work, later in the evening and one before bedtime. But it still feels like she's constantly peeing in the house no matter how many times we take her outside, and i'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get her to stop using the bathroom inside?

We got our new baby yesterday….all 4.5 lbs of her! ❤️❤️Here she is meeting our 8 month old puppy for the first time! We survived the first night, her first bath in a sink and they are both now curled up on my lap. My feet are going numb but I don’t care 😂. Don’t want to mess up the moment
