Recently acquired a new Canyon Spectral. This is my first $2500+ bike. Do people recommend ride wrap or other protective film or is that advertisements?

I got a new Stem cap for my birthday so I installed it, the new one isn't as raised as my old one so I couldn't tighten it down enough or else the bolt would go too deep and wouldn't hold onto the cap.

As I suspected the stem cap fell out while riding but I don't want to buy any spacers, so if anyone has any makeshift ideas on how to tighten it down more that'd be great.

Ps: parents are extremely strict so buying new things is basically off the table, sorry

Hello! I purchased a used Mtb about a year ago, my first one since moving from a road bike. The previous owner confirmed the tires are tubeless. Just this week i started to get back into using the bike, noticed the front tire could barely hole air so i took it in and got it newly sealed. The mechanic did show me a flat dried bit of sealant that he pulled from the tire.
Now im back home and looking at my rear tire… is it necessary to check if i have dried sealant in this tire or should i just add new sealant and be on my way. The rear tire holds air without any issue other than a few psi gradually from being in high heat/ humid environment. I did rotate the tire and listen if there was anything heavy, rolling, or off balancing the tires rotation and i noticed nothing.
So yeah, should i unseat the full tire and check inside or just proceed with new sealant through the valve core? Thank you!

I'm going to Montreal for a week of remote work... bringing my bike and really want to ride a bunch. Willing to drive 45 min each way from the city center. I was very frustrated to learn that Quebec City is not close to Montreal, as there is a new bike park there?! anyway, hook a brother up!

I'm heading for a MTB vacation in Brevard, NC and plan to spend a day or two on Dupont, perhaps a day on a trail (I forget the name) across from Davidson River Campground.

I'm bringing a teenager who gets burned out easily and want to include several trails where we can be dropped (via uber or via shuttle) at the uphill section of the trail and scoot our way back to our car. We are all intermediate-level riders (more xc than full mountain, definitely not downhill). 3 ft drops are fine.

I plan to talk to bike shops, and I think I know of one that has a shuttle program. I really don't want to be on a guided tour.

EDIT: I'm not bringing two vehicles. Is Uber/Lyft available in the area? I'd only need to get a lift from my parked car(low) up to my pre-parked bikes(high). I was in Pisgah years ago and biked to the top of a long downhill run, only to find a gravel road near the top. <-- This is what inspired me to self-shuttle.

I work in parks planning for a local government, and we're in the early stages of expanding an existing bike park. Our biggest challenge is that the site is almost completely flat, no natural hills or elevation to work with.

I'm hoping to learn from this community. Have you ridden any great bike parks built on relatively flat terrain? What made them stand out? Are there any features, trail styles, or amenities that turned a good park into a great one?

We're looking beyond just jump lines and are interested in ideas like skills areas, pump tracks, technical features, progression zones, kids' areas, shade, gathering spaces, or anything else you've seen done really well.

On the flip side, what features sound great on paper but don't actually get used?

I am 176cm (between 5'9 and 5'10), and I seem to be in-between sizes. I want to learn tricks like bunny hops and manuals, which size should I buy?

I recently bought a Giro Fixture mips ii after trying it on in a bike shop. It's my first bike helmet since I was a kid, so I wasn't really sure what I was looking for. I've ridden it twice now and come to realise that even on the smallest setting, it's still too loose (I have an exceedingly small head).

I gather this is a safety issue so was thinking about trying to sell this helmet and buying the women's version, as that's smaller. (I want to avoid youth helmets because I don't know if they're designed to take the weight of an adult. Which is a shame, because I much prefer the youth colours!). Unfortunately however the women's version is really hard to get a hold of.

Are there any helmets in a similar £50-60 price range that fit similarly, but come in small sizes?

I've got some kind of goddamned cold. No crazy crash or broken bones but haven't gotten any riding yet. Haven't been actually sick in forever and it just had to be this week.

Midway through my flight two days ago started to get bit of throat tickle. Spent pretty much all day yesterday in my hotel room sleeping and shivering. Could barely walk up stairs without feeling dizzy. Feel better today but I can't decide if I want to push through my remaining sore throat and fatigue to get some riding today or just take another day to chill and hope I'm fully recovered tomorrow. I've still got 5 days if I skip today but God it sucks sitting here.

Hey guys, i have this Diamondback Overdrive 1 27.5 i got a while back after watching a seths bikes hacks videos when i was getting ready to buy my first mtb back in 2018ish. since then i have ridden it A LOT, i would say 80% has been on road/paved trails and the other 20% on small mtb trails or just doing random jumps off curbs and stairs haha.

Long story short i have been looking into upgrading this bike for a while but never did. and I'm trying to decide now weather i should spend the time and money upgrading this bike, or if i should sell it and go find a second hand mountain bike that might be more worth spending the time and money on? I've seen that a lot of people like 29ers more now, while 27.5's are more agile, I've also seen mullets (29f/27.5r) as of today which really caught my attention! that seems like a project i would love to do.

I recently sold my trek road bike and picked up a giant defy 3 composite to take place for all my road biking so i would try to setup the MTB specifically for trail riding. My budget is around $500 USD for a bike i would be willing to be able to pickup and ride and slowly upgrade. I'm moving to Tennessee so I'm sure there will be a LOT more trails where ill be.

So I'm running into some braking issues with my 2018 Merida OneTwenty XT edition. I'm a heavy rider (95 kg) and I'm not happy with the 180 mm rotors and BR500 calipers. I'm looking into replacing them with 200 mm Shimano thick rotors and BR8220 calipers. Can I keep myBL500 handles and would there be an issue with braking oil?

I currently ride an old norco Fluid 3 hardtail in a XL frame.

While getting it repaired, I had an offer on a lightly used bike (a month) normally selling for 3500 CAD and could get it for around 2800.

My question is about sizing as the Kona is a L frame.

I'm 6,2,5 Which according to Kona charts would be just over the L limit. I measured my inseam and it is around 32 inches.

The shop offered me to change the stem for a slightly longer one to see how it'd fit. As a note, I feel like my arms are often fully extended on my current bike and find it uncomfortable.

I never rode a full sus bike before test driving the Kona around the city.

I'm still a pretty low level rider so it'd be a bike to grow my skill while being safe !

I own a propain tyee 6.1 in size large. Max insertion is 242mm. The one up v3 total length is 480 and the stack height is 210 meaning I thing the max
Insertion would be 270mm. I’m bad at understanding dropper posts, does that mean I wouldn’t be able to fully slam/lower my seat all the way?

Ive been living in San diego for the past ten years and the riding is amazing. I prefer to ride rocky, chunky technical enduro/ DH trails and I also love a good flowing jump line. I know the riding in Mn probably won’t compare especially since I am in the st.cloud area. but I’m hoping there are some hidden gems out there that you all could recommend. I have already rode Spirit Mtn in the past and really enjoyed it. so any other trail recommendations and their locations would be great!

In my 20s I lived in New Haven, CT and never needed a car, but I rode every day, like in high school (cycling team, several races) and before that, so much so I wound up with a Lance Armstrong type physique: not big in any way, but very toned, big calf muscles, defined quads, decent arm definition, but nothing big, and had a six pack for years.

Fast-forward to age 53, having cars for 30 years, being a gamer, working at the Post Office, and honestly being lazy. I'm still 6'2" but now instead of 175 I'm 210. Instead of a six pack I have a mini-keg. Leg muscles: MIA, my arms are still good, but could use more tone.

My goal is 10 miles a day during the week after work because I work 60 hours a week. Weekends I can pick one of the days to ride 20-30 miles. And I can combine this with resistance training at home. I'm thinking maybe something like Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu, Sat riding, and exercising, Fri+Sun rest.

I currently reside in CT, and I have recently purchased a 2019 Bulls e-stream AM 3. It’s an eMTB, and it just shocked me how fun and freeing it is. However, I’m running into an unforeseen issue of many of the mountain biking trail systems that are close by saying either “No motorized vehicles” or “no e-bikes”. I’m considering returning it for a cannondale habit 3 (just a normal mountain bike) because I didn’t realize until owning an eMTB how restrictive it seems its use is here.

I got a really good deal on the bulls bike, and before I exchange it for the cannondale I wanted to get some perspective from you all. I’m a very new mountain biker, and my goals really are just to have fun, explore, be outside, and get some exercise (I already exercise consistently so it’s not a big priority for me).

I am looking to ride mountain biking trails, not really rail trails or greenways or that sort of thing. Thanks for looking at my post!

I have quite bad add, it doesn’t really effect normal life except when reading things I often can’t get to the end if a sentence before I forget what the beginning says. And I’m a builder so don’t need to do a huge amount of reading.

So anyway I’d love to downgill but I’ve had two very bad crashes from staring at things I shouldn’t, anyone fixed that tendency? Advice?

As the title suggests i am an average rider and will be going to the above location soon. I kinda know what to expect and it all looks way out of my skills level.
Uplift is paid and i m 50/50 on whether i should cancel die to skills level.
I mostly ride reds and some blacks in the peebles area. I do struggle on inners black trails. Very comfortable on glentress red and the (official) blacks there are on the right side of challenging.
