Discussion Your Sleeper or Most Fun Cards to try

Thumbnail

mainly I’m just looking for some new cards to try out and enjoy using as I put a few players on vacation so I don’t get bored of them.

issues I’m running into are a lot of these All-Star SP are ridiculously unreliable, the attributes and respective performances they’ll have would best be described as totally unpredictable lol.

Next issue being lineup is extremely lefty heavy for hitters, primary position I really need someone new is SS, other than that I’m looking for new players to try in ranked at any position

I don’t have Tulo or any of the 99 collection cards and no plan on getting them, so fire away with cards to spark a little fun and have some underdogs barking in my squad that got some bite on ranked

Question Weak fly balls into the OF

I’m wondering if it’s just me and my over analytical brain, but does it seem like the physics on weakly hit fly balls into the outfield just hang up in the air forever until the defender is in range to catch it? Lol

Discussion Flash sale going on rn

This flash sale has barely changed the market with how hard it is to get the good cards, feels a bit pointless

PSA This might be a hot take but I’ll die on this hill, I fear All Star Soto more than I fear All Star Yordan 🤷🏾‍♂️, it’s to the point where I almost intentionally walk Soto every game I face him 🤣

It seem like any time I pitch to Soto it’s a homer 🤦🏾‍♂️

Comparison Asg 99 Miz vs Spotlight 96 Miz

The 99 is obviously a higher overall and way more expensive, but looking at the stats 96 actually looks better and has better h/9 vs righties. From anyone who has used both, is 99 Miz all that good?

Discussion Are there any self-imposed restrictions you use for team building to shake things up or make things more unique?

I'll never have an issue with people who choose to use meta cards or strategies. Online is a competitive mode, and if people want to use their best cards, that is totally okay. I might have issues with SDS' choices of cards and how they shape the meta, but that's a whole other issue.

Anyway, to shake things up, so I'm not always just using 9 switch hitters, I like to use a lineup that has 3 righties, 3 lefties, and 3 switch hitters. It's not a hard, fast rule, but it does feel good to have a lineup that at least feels balanced. I'll have to make some hard choices the next time an awesome right-handed hitter comes out given I have Tulo, Pujols, and Cabrera, but that's a problem for a different day.

I will also always try to have a Giant in my starting lineup, and in my rotation. Right now, I'm running the Bryce Eldridge at first, along with Jackson Flora and Logan Webb in the rotation (and would use Ryan Walker in the bullpen, but screw him).

I also have a backup team to play with when I reach my goal for the ranked season or in the Weekend Classic. I have to use different players in the lineup than I do on my main squad (bonus points if they haven't gotten to Parallel 5 yet), and the pitchers have to be "Junk ballers." They have to have primary offspeed/breaking pitches or just feel like soft-tossing pitchers. Gaylord Perry is a total vibe fit, ya know? The team name is Antifa...stball (a shoutout to my rec-league slow pitch softball team), so we can't be throwing any outlier fastballs!

Sometimes we gotta make our own fun, or come up with our own rules. I do miss the events that had much more strict team-building rules from back in the day (even if meta cards still develop), so I gotta do it on my own!

Question Just got the game and started my 1st franchise. (Not huge into baseball) should this have went through? Did I somehow get fleeced?

Post image

1st trade I even tried, did it for shits didn't think it would actually go through, now I'm worried I just screwed up idk how an older, lower rated player on an expiring deal could get a return of a younger, locked down, 95 overall 3rd baseman but idk maybe I'm an idiot?

Question What are the mechanics of the PCI?

I’m a newer player on 26 and I don’t understand the mechanics of Zone PCI hitting. The game makes no effort to explain how any of this works. Do I not move the PCI until I’m ready to swing? or do I constantly move the PCI aiming for the ball, before a swing?

If don’t move the PCI until I’m ready to swing the PCI doesn’t move. If I yank the PCI towards the ball last second, my PCI will show it never moved during the swing. If I consistently move the PCI before the pitch aiming for the ball my swing still misses with the PCI off target.

Can someone answer how this works without trolling, thanks.

Question Does the game just feel off lately?

Before this week I felt like I was hitting everything and was sitting at 700+ rating. Over the last two days I can’t hit shit and dropped from 700+ to 270. Also any time I’m leading and have like 10+ Ks through 6 suddenly my opponent knows how to hit and everything flies or is a bloop.

Is the game just dog shit lately or am I just dogshit/in a terrible slump. Just feel the game has been off lately and I guess being on the PS5 doesn’t help either.

Anyone else having this issue when you play the CPU like I've noticed a few months back I don't know what's going on why the game does that and it's not like a scratch on my TV.

Haven't gotten out of the wild card, been able to trade alot of B potential and some A potential prospects for some core pieces in my team, my budget is cooked but my team pretty much has zero holes and doesn't need anyone else in my opinion. Hunter, Peña and Yordan all have multi year contracts cause I didnt want to let them go.

Question Anyone else get burnt out around this time?

Grinded for Jram, Ted Williams, have a really good team that I’m happy with and P5s, but once all the new all star/draft cards start being better it’s a little frustrating.

I finally made it to 6-700 rank this year, but slowly see myself wanting to play rtts or franchise.

Just curious what your guys game plan is for the second half of the season

Question I don't understand trade value in this game really. (Follow up)

A bit into the season and these are the trades I have made, the Cade Smith trade was offered too me, he's 26 and 90 overall and on a great contract for 4 years and Alvarez is only 29 and 91 overall. My Jays team is looking pretty insane now and is playing well but I feel 3 out of 4 of these trades are pretty unrealistic.

I think the slide 3 trade is one that seems a bit more realistic. Am I missing something? On the other post others said it was because of the contract/age but now I'm just confused lol

I’m not saying there’s not things wouldn’t wish for improvements on but, compared to mlb’s franchise mode, Madden’s franchise is completely phoned in

Discussion What unique ways have you found to enjoy DD?

Probably not a very unique thing, but I like to use full lineups of the Topps Now cards and the less popular promo cards.

I have about 5-10 Topps cards with a P5 under 100 and two of them in the 30-50 range. All from playing offline (so the grind is pretty slow) and I don't use created stadiums.

This year I haven't flipped at all, so I can't affort the super expensive cards anyway, but I've had more fun doing this than I did last year when I flipped my way to a million stubs. It feels a bit more realistic too because the Topps cards usually have major weaknesses in one area or another.

Franchise Franchise Mode: Trade System

Have the devs patched the trade system at all since the game came out? Like did they bring back instant trades, interest meter, or multiple trades a day?

If not, then looks like I’m still gonna rock with ‘25 for franchise mode.
