I've recently become head moderator and hope to revive this subreddit. It's clear that the sub could use a lot of work. So if you or someone you know would like to help out, please contact me through mod mail.
You'll be expected to take the reins on the direction of the subreddit. Here are some specific areas where I think help is needed, but it will be up to you to decide where the sub goes.
Moderation. I also don't have automoderator set up, so someone needs to set that up and help decide what automod should do.
Rules. We're currently just following the general Reddit rules, but it would help if we had a clear set of rules for the Lynden subreddit so that it's clear what is ok/relevant to the subreddit and what's not.
Relevance to residents. It would be great if the subreddit mod team was composed of current residents who actually live in Lynden.
Designing a theme/layout. I don't need to tell you how little of a theme we have right now. A custom theme would be very welcome, would give the image that this community cares, and look great in your design portfolio.
Please give any previous leadership/design experience if you have any, but don't be discouraged if you're new. Bonus points for:
Being active within /r/Lynden. Being a current resident. Sharing your ideas that could help this community grow. Thanks! The /r/Lynden mod team
Drop your experiences / takes on best coffee in Lynden, WA! Highlighting the positives helps friendly competition within the community and doesn’t discourage other businesses that are still figuring things out. We’re all just after a good cup of coffee ☕️
If you regularly drive, bike, walk, roll or catch transit along Guide Meridian (SR 539) or Badger Road (SR 546), we'd like to hear from you.
We're in the early planning stages for paving projects scheduled for 2028, and because these projects include Complete Streets requirements, we're looking for feedback on how people use these corridors today and where there may be opportunities to improve things for everyone who travels through the area.
Visual of where repaving would occur on SR 539 and SR 546
The projects include:
Repaving about 2 miles of SR 539 between Bay Lyn Drive and the SR 546 interchange.
Repaving nearly 2.5 miles of SR 546 between Vinup Road and the SR 539 interchange (excluding recently completed fish passage areas).
The online questionnaire is open through Wednesday, July 1 and is available in both English and Spanish. You can answer a few questions about your travel habits and leave comments about the corridor.
Whether you commute through the area every day or only travel it occasionally, your feedback helps us better understand how these roads are used before design work moves forward.
Details: Content is available in English and Spanish
Free, temporary internet access may be available to those who do not have broadband services. Washington state's open data portal has created a map of public libraries offering drive up Wi-Fi, including locations, hours and contact information.
Hello! I have a 6 year old Great Dane named Envy. We are looking for fellow families with a Great Dane that would like to meet up. I see that Seattle has a Great Dane group and we would like to start something similar in the lynden area!
Hey everyone, we’re a young couple looking to connect with open-minded couples around the Lynden area. We’re both chill, respectful, clean, and just looking to explore, meet new people, and have some fun experiences together.
Open to it all, just not interested in single guys. Couples only please. Feel free to message us and introduce yourselves 🙂

My friend is hosting a weekly Wednesday trivia night and it’s actually really fun. Pro Comedian host, solid questions, prizes for the winning team. If you’re into that kind of thing, check it out!
Just a quick temperature check after what happened today. If ICE comes for this town and starts doing what they did in Minneapolis, can I count on y’all to defend your neighbors or not? I’m just wondering if I’m alone or not.
