The back section of the high school parking lot is completely full with a lot of out-of-state plates and Sprinter vans. I also note an above average number of bike racks. Is there some kind of event in town?

Just wanted to let people know that there's a fun, family friendly lavender festival happening on Saturday and Sunday in Ferndale! The vendors will be open from 10am to 5pm. In addition to vendors there will be a petting zoo, face painting, u-pick lavender, and lots more fun stuff! Hope you come out and see us!

…is over…it was July 4th. Not July 5th, in case some of you are confused or mixed your days up.
You had your chance to burn all your fireworks. Maybe don’t waste so much money next time if you can’t light them all on the 4th.
Consider others for a change. Consider the war vet with PTSD, or the pets that shake and pee themselves due to severe stress.
You’re not the only one who lives in a neighborhood…other people live there too…try considering that alone.

Between Bellingham, Ferndale, lynden, blaine, birch bay, etc... What's worth checking out this week? Car shows? Parades? Fireworks?
Helps to know how the towns stagger events to not be on top of each other but it's a lot to research. Any links appreciate!
I know Blaine does a big fair on the 4th at least.

I was one of the folks that lost power last night a bit before midnight.
A bit north of Ferndale.
Power came back shortly before 3 AM.
PSE's web site said it was due to an accident.
I'm just curious if anyone knows what happened.

Check out the video and article about the moratorium, as well as Tomas Scheel's speech.

The WA-02 US Congress Rep seat is safely blue. Only one conservative in the race. The top two advance to the general. We can advance two democrats. Tomas and the 25 year incumbent. Then we can finally have a debate about the policy direction of the democrats.

Vote for Tomas Scheel

Ferndale needs a water/pool/swimming-related rec area. It can go in between the library and old city hall…. Just sayin.

Hello!
Looking for anyone interested in taking over our lease in August.
Me and my wife are moving out of our 5702 Bass Dr duplex the beginning of August, since this is considered a breaking of our lease Roma management would charge us rent each month till the place is occupied, which we obviously don't want!
Roma says there's an application fee but I do not know how much that is.
Message me for details if interested, again this is for the beginning of August so some months away.
Current rent is $2100 which (I assume) would be your cost as well.
Edit: https://www.zillow.com/apartments/ferndale-wa/bass-drive/63Q2LL (our unit 102 doesn't show as available yet, those listed on zillow are our neighbors)

Hi, I just moved to the area!
Could anyone help me out with finding some good places to run? Is there anything comparable to some of the Bellingham parks like Whatcom Falls, Lake Padden, or Cornwall?
Or knowing where to avoid would be helpful too. Safety is always a concern: car traffic, needles, total lack of other runners/people around.
