Our very first build challenge is complete! We have only gotten 3 entries, but god damn were they all super creative!

Now's the time to vote for the best Jaeger!

All 3 entries are included in this poll.

A suggestion on how to pick the best entry: I'd say you should first go through all of them, pick the ones you like the most visually, and then click on the link to see the actual post with more pictures. Or click on every single one if you want to be really thorough, as the main picture might not fully show off the awesome details of the builds.

Please choose wisely. You have until Sunday, July 26th to choose the winner, so don't hesitate!

See you soon!

MOC "Gundam" now live on LEGO® Ideas!

I am proud to present my minifigure scale LEGO Gundam, now live on LEGO Ideas!

I spent over 100 hours designing this replica of the ZGMF X20-A Strike Freedom Gundam, following many blueprints, references, and models to ensure maximum accuracy. I also worked to keep the piece count as low as possible, ending up at 1979 pieces, a reference to the release year of Gundam. Standing at an impressive 42 cm / 16.5 inches tall, this model is minifigure scale (1:44).

This model features 35 points of articulation and uses non-slip rubber foot pads to enable many epic poses. It also uses ratchet hinges, a sturdy Technic core, and fully legal building techniques to make it as robust as possible, while still managing to fit in a detailed cockpit with enough room for the pilot, Kira Yamato.

I used many unique pieces, like ice picks for the chest vents, harpoons for the V-fin, and lightweight propeller blades in the wings to keep the centre of gravity over the feet for more stability. Flexible rubber connectors allow the front leg guards to move with the legs, enabling an accurate range of motion.

This model also features combinable beam rifles and sabers, just like in the anime.

If you would love to see this model become a real LEGO® set, please support, comment, and share this model with your friends and family. Support on LEGO® Ideas: Gundam | LEGO® Ideas

I loved creating this model and am so grateful for your votes, comments, and support.

Thank you very much!

MOC I present Vantage-9, Brimspark, and Aurelion and their Shepherds

I really enjoy how well I made these and their articulation points. I felt that the mechs needed some companions, so I created the Shepherds and their corresponding load out kits. They're not 100% functional in a way I want, but boy howdy I enjoy them! I want to make more and create a proper scene for each. Next is to create lore for each.

MOC Devil Gundam

Devil Gundam from Mobile Fighter G Gundam is one of my all-time favorites. Official toys are pretty limited, though. I collect them all (including the BB Senshi and both MIA releases).

Back in November, while making "minifigs with giant arms on their backs," I built a Devil Gundam homage. It looked cool in photos for IG, but in person, the frame was too thin and fragile to play with.

In February, I created the "S-Core" mech frame to quickly build various mechs, including Gundam homages.

I occasionally tried tackling Devil Gundam again, but kept getting stuck at the first hurdle: the feet.

The massive yellow feet are iconic. Their densely packed yellow toes with red tips give the robot an eerie, organic feel.

In my figure-scale build, I used 3 minifigure hands as toes. That worked for that size, but for S-Core scale, they looked way too thin and undernourished.

Also, I only had a 2x2 space for the foot connections—3x2 would be too wide. Squeezing six toes into a 2x2 space seemed nearly impossible.

Then, the Pick a Brick (PAB) wall at Taiwan's LEGO Certified Store changed everything.

Last month, while setting up my Sauron Mech at Lalaport Nangane @lego_lcstw_sunkids , I grabbed some parts, including 200 of part 26047 (1x1 plate with handle). After that, I kept thinking about how to use them.

Yesterday, I figured out a technique to stack 26047s into a 2x2 footprint. After that breakthrough, the rest of Devil Gundam came together in no time.

Fiddling with parts in hand while stumbling upon new ideas—that’s what makes LEGO building so much fun.

Unsuprisingly, a Lancer-based mech build, based on my chosen LL0 loadout so far.

'Cascade' leans more towards defense and firepower rather then mobillity. Final image in the Gallery is the arnaments displayed loosely. For those who are curious, I'll put a quick screengrab of the loadout in the comments.

After a ton of planning and tweaking, here’s my take on the iconic mobile suit! Went for clean lines, good paneling, and solid posability while staying as close as possible to the classic proportions.

I really liked his use of the red minifig hands for detail. My only criticism was all the one stud connections. His response was, “Dad, it’s for display, not to be played with!” 😂

Hey everyone, just want to share my LEGO Gipsy Danger idea has reached 10k supporters. Happy to say it is the first and furthest we got to tell LEGO we want a LEGO set x Pacific Rim.

What is next? Look out for a final decision from LEGO near end of the year to find out if they wanted to bring this idea to life. Also, this should be the year with 2 Gipsy Danger ide. The other Gipsy Danger is from and by @cosmicnomad. We are breaking records!

Godzilla x Pacific Rim ? How cool would it be !!!
