Rep Chris Jeter sent this out this week, conveniently glossing over the fact that he voted no to all proposed amendments to address utility affordability. His campaign is also funded by Duke, CenterPoint, AES, AEP, NiSource and Chuck Goodrich (CEO of Gaylor Electric.

He also voted in favor of bypassing local input for data center approvals in order to expedite the process of constructing them.

Please share this. He cannot continue to get away with lying to his constituents.

Like the title says, I am in a bit of a bind at the moment. I am currently in the moving process but I unfortunately cannot take my mom’s dog to the place we are moving to. I have call the Shelbyville Shelter and they are full and have not had much luck with online boards and some of the rescues in the county. If anyone knows of any options that can help with this that would be quick since I am running out of time.

Hello everyone,
I’m looking for an attorney in Indiana who can help with a case against a company in Fort Wayne, Indiana (I won’t name them publicly at this time).
This company has been misclassifying workers as 1099 contractors while treating them like employees. They’ve already been sued over these same practices in multiple states and have lost. Despite that, they’re continuing the same conduct.
I have extensive documentation, evidence, and multiple witnesses willing to testify. I honestly thought this would be an open-and-shut case because the same issues have already been litigated elsewhere. Unfortunately, every attorney I’ve spoken with outside Indiana has told me I need to hire an Indiana attorney.
I lost nearly everything while working under this contract and simply don’t have the money to pay expensive legal fees. I’m looking for an Indiana attorney who handles worker misclassification, employment law, or contractor disputes on a contingency basis or pro bono.
If anyone knows an attorney who might be interested in taking this case, I’d greatly appreciate the recommendation. I’m happy to provide the evidence to any attorney willing to review it.

With the whole Taylor Farms cyclospora situation, I started reading their 2025 Impact Report and came across mention of a partnership with an Indiana "Indoor Growing Operation", and was curious if anyone knew what they were referring to.

With this whole situation I'm starting to realize I know very little about where the food I eat comes from, and whose 'hands' they pass through before finding themselves at the grocery store.

Also, I want to emphasize that I am NOT insinuating anything about that specific operations business practices. Just satisfying a curiosity!

Senate Bill 4925, a partisan effort to control materials in public schools, has been referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. The bill was introduced June 24 by Republican Senators Jim Banks of Indiana, James Lankford of Oklahoma, and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.

Like its companion legislation, House Bill 7661, SB 4925 would amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to prohibit the use of federal funding for “sexually oriented material” in public schools. Both SB 4925 and HB 7661 are known as the “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act.”

SB 4925 defines “sexually oriented material” as that which “exposes children to nude adults, individuals who are stripping, or lewd and lascivious dancing” as well as that which “involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism.” Both SB 4925 and HB 7661 have been understood by freedom to read advocates as attacks on civil rights and on the representation and existence of LGBTQ+ individuals.

The American Library Association issued an action alert about SB 4925 on July 16, urging members and the public to contact their representatives in defense of school libraries. ALA president Maria McCauley said the bill threatens families’ ability “to make decisions for themselves” about reading and other content. “Legislators should stop targeting and start supporting school libraries,” McCauley wrote in a statement to PW.

I just published a new piece for the archives looking into the grotesque history of what wealthy men will do in order to make another dollar. When we say that greed is violence, it’s not just an abstract play on words—it is at the core of every drop of blood shed in Indiana for the pursuit of profits.

The article covers three major eras in our state's history where corporate interests physically clashed with working-class Hoosiers:

• The 1894 Pullman Strike: How the railroad monopolies colluded with the federal government to crush Terre Haute's Eugene V. Debs and the American Railway Union.
• The 1925 City Mine Disaster: The absolute negligence of coal operators in Sullivan, Indiana, who refused to ventilate mines, resulting in the deaths of 51 miners in a massive methane explosion.
• The 1937 GM Strikes in Anderson: How General Motors funded a vigilante mob (The Citizens League for Industrial Security) to beat UAW organizers and tear a community apart, forcing the governor to declare martial law.

I also touch on how this legacy continues today through the slow violence of uncapped coal ash sites leaking into our groundwater.

Re: Water/Sewer Line Protection Program

I got another letter in the mail from the water company since I moved to this state, basically wanting me to enroll and pay them for their Water Line and Sewer Line Protection Program. This is about the fourth letter I've gotten since I moved into a house here back in December.

My question to all of you is, is this just a money grab? I feel like they're trying to get more money with their offered program.

Have any of you that have enrolled in this program actually needed it? My house was built in '89, so it's not that outdated, I would think. Thoughts?

The ticket was for 26 over [not reckless driving, just a speeding infraction]; just a standard citation. However, the local county clerk’s office (Wayne County) says their deferral program is for in-state residents only.

This seems absurd, but wanted to see if anyone has run into the same thing before.

I’m about 4 hours from the county and would prefer not driving down there for court, but also, I’ve been told by law offices in the area that there are not lawyers in the county that handle traffic citations. The fine is about $160, but I’d rather it not make my insurance increase if possible.

I saw something recently on social media about this commune, and it immediately sent up red flags for me. The discussion talked about a "utopian community" that teaches "religious living" and "self-reliance.

According to some brief research, it was founded in 1966 by Daniel Wright as an "intentional Christian community." Evidently, they pool property and income, farm, build and live communally, and maintain minimal interaction with outside society.

I hadn't heard about this before. Does anyone know more about them?

Lee Marcum is back. After ending the family legacy with Jacks Donuts and he can no longer associate with them in any way, he is back with coffee. Fresh roasted he says, like that hasn't been done many times over. Don't enable the dishonesty like some already have. Remember the Indiana Secretary of State’s Securities Commissioner has issued a cease and desist order to him when he tried to find an illegal way out of his issues. He left many small business owners associated with his donuts without payment. Don't enable him to do it again by buying his coffee.
