Product / MVP 29-year-old founder building something for job seekers in India. Need honest feedback before we launch.
Hi everyone,
I am 29 and building a platform called Mongers for job seekers in India. We are still pre-launch. The site is only a mock/preview right now, payments are not live, and some profiles are demo data.
Quick personal context:
I moved back from Canada and found myself in a weird career spot. I had banking experience there, but when I started exploring roles in India, especially around tech sales, I realised most advice I was getting was either too generic or not relevant to my situation.
ChatGPT was helpful, but still gave broad answers. LinkedIn outreach was slow, vague, or silent. My own network had either moved into senior roles, different industries, or different countries. What I really wanted was simple: one practical conversation with someone currently doing the kind of job I was trying to understand.
That is where the idea came from.
What Mongers Does
The idea is simple:
You book a 1-hour video call with a vetted working professional who is currently in or close to the role/industry you want to enter. Most experts are currently employed in their fields, so the guidance is based on recent, practical industry experience, not outdated or generic advice.
Not a career coach.
Not a mentorship guru.
Not an HR person giving generic advice.
For example:
• A cabin crew member helping someone prepare for airline interviews
• A finance ops professional helping someone understand finance operations roles
• A marketing professional reviewing someone's resume for performance marketing roles
• A working sales professional helping someone understand tech sales
What We Are Trying To Do Differently
**1. Every session has a deliverable**
We do not want it to be just a motivational call.
Depending on the user's need, they should walk away with something practical, such as:
• Career direction map
• Resume feedback / targeted resume direction
• Interview answer pack
• Offer or salary negotiation script
• Learning or project recommendations
There is also a 48-hour follow-up window for one clarification or correction.
**2. Simple pricing**
We are thinking of keeping the main session price around Rs 1,620, so users do not have to compare premium mentors vs cheap mentors. The user chooses based on relevance, not price.
**3. Vetted professionals only**
Before someone can become a Jobmonger, we verify identity and work background. The idea is to keep it practical and trust-based.

Again, important disclaimer: this is not fully live yet. We are not taking payments right now. Some profiles and flows are still demo/preview.
I am posting here because I genuinely want feedback before going live.
Would you use something like this?
What feels unclear or untrustworthy?
Does Rs 1,620 feel too high, too low, or reasonable?
What would make you hesitate before booking?
Does this feel meaningfully different from Topmate, ADPList, MentorCruise, or just asking people on LinkedIn?
Please be honest. I would rather hear the hard feedback now than build in the wrong direction.
