Hi, y’all! I’m currently a 10th grader studying in CBSE who’s very set on studying abroad, specifically Germany. I’ve heard that IB helps with countries like the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, etc. But I’ve never seen that it helps to study in Germany so I was wondering if anyone here could clear that up.
And, I’ve been heavily contemplating switching from CBSE to IB for 11th grade. Do schools even allow that? Is that advisable? I’ve seen a lot online about how studying abroad is harder if you’re in CBSE, which is why I’ve been wanting to change boards.
I also thought about IGCSE and I guess I still am but I’ve seen that IB is better than IGCSE so I’m mainly considering IB.
Another major reason I want to switch boards is because I’m very unhappy with CBSE schools and their methods of teaching. Honestly, my grades aren’t the best right now and I’m constantly working on it but I just can’t do that well if I don’t have good teachers in school as I spend a major part of my waking day there.
My parents are fine with me changing schools and boards but the only problem is that IGCSE and IB are significantly more expensive than CBSE. I suppose I’ll have to find a way to convince them but I’d love to know if there are any affordable IB/IGCSE schools in Bangalore.
I’d like to speak to anyone who’s changed boards from CBSE or ICSE to IGCSE or IB, if they’re willing to talk. I’d really appreciate it if anyone would be willing to help me on this.
