Bad Haircut Bad haircut help me!!

Why do hairdressers never seem to listen to what they’re asked to do? Before anyone says I should’ve spoken up, I’m autistic and I frequently go mute under stress. The second I saw her cutting it much shorter than we’d agreed, I completely froze. I couldn’t get the words out, and even now I feel guilty and rude for complaining. I’m 16 and I start college for the first time in a month, and I’ve been crying and panicking because this haircut is genuinely horrific to me. I actually know how to style hair and I’m usually really good at it, but only when it’s the length I was expecting. I’ve had every length of hair, including a pixie cut, and it was the worst decision of my life because I was severely bullied for it. I even told my hairdresser about the bullying before she started cutting, which is exactly why I didn’t want it this short. Now it’s brought all those memories back and I honestly don’t understand why she would cut so much off after I’d explained everything. I would never have chosen to have my hair this short and I know I’m not really asking much of a question I just need to tell anyone I need some kind of reassurance, it’s also layered at the back but you can barely see it because it only looked nice with the length I wanted.

Hi everyone! For starters I want to thank everyone so much for commenting and helping my understand my situation and also validating the very obvious fact that they were done badly by the hair salon. I ended up contacting them and going back to the salon in which the hairstylist did a lot of layering and thinning to blend the hair. When I left I thought it looked a lot better but after taking a photo of the back straight after as well as after I showered and blow dried my hair I am still unhappy :( I have attached both photos of my hair after the second haircut below. I ended up sending the hair salon a message expressing how unhappy I was and this was their response/solution, is this fair? I am honestly not sure what to do going forward from here and just feel very sad and embarrassed about my hair. I feel like if they remove them my hair is gonna look terrible because of all the hair that was cut to make them blend. Please let me know what you think and what I should do, I really really appreciate it!

Question Is the back of my head flat or is it just a haircut/styling issue?

I feel like my head looks flat from the side/back and I'm not sure if it's just the shape of my head or a styling/haircut issue. I've wondered if it could be just the length my hair is at, the layering, or even my posture or something, but I feel like it just might be the shape of my head, which is visible in pic 2 with my hair wet. Would love any help or opinions, I always wear it up in a clip because of how it looks when its down 😢

I'm not sure which hair color best suits me. I've had blonde/vivids for about six years, and I'm starting to wonder if going back to dark brunette is the better choice for me. I think I'm blind to what looks best.

Question Transwoman looking for hairstyle advice

Post image
46 Upvotes

Hi, I am a Transwoman and when I grew out my hair and it reached my shoulder, I got my first femme haircut. The stylist and my elder sister said a bob hair with bangs and a middle parting would suit me and pair well with my earrings (I usually like to wear long, dangling ones)

I kindof like my new hair but I want my bangs to look more like that of British actress Jameela Jamil (on the left)

My bangs are parted in the middle (just like the rest of the bob) but not sure if it is a density issue or I need to ask my stylist to cut it differently?

Question What is my best color/cut that compliments my complexion and face shape

What does everyone think looks best on me? I included the reference picture I used for ChatGPT and also a photograph of my current hair! I have been getting highlights for a few years and I feel as if my hair is just now very light and a mess of different highlights and tones. Should I go way darker or should I try to just define my highlights a bit more?

Before and After Cut off all my hair!

The last two photos are of previous haircuts I got before I started growing out my hair. Hair stylists always give me a pixie cut the first time I ask to chop it all off (even though I always ask for a more masculine cut lol) so I'm not too surprised it looks a little different. I'm still very happy with it though and can't wait to see it grow out a little bit more!
Long hair is fun to braid but it is not for me haha

Question any suggestions on how to make my hair a little less stiff?

i’m pretty new to styling my hair, i was aggressively against girly things most of my life so i never really learned how to do hair or makeup. i’ve recently learned how to give myself a blowout and do some decent curls, but now im facing the issue of it seeming a little rigid and frizzy. i have pretty thin hair so im not sure what my best move would be. i’m afraid to add too much anti frizz or more oil because it weighs down my hair so much!

current products:

OUAI fine hair shampoo + conditioner

Redken coconut milk leave in conditioner

OUAI hair oil

Colorwow dream coat

sometimes:

Olaplex bonding oil

Olaplex leave in conditioner (when a little dry)

Kristin Ess flexible hold hairspray

Question Hairstrong bands: worth it?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Has anyone tried hairstrong bands? My algorithm keeps pushing it on me and I'm on the fence because it's pretty expensive for a singular hair tie (ranges from $20-$39 depending on thickness)

I have thick, glossy hair, and tend to get tension headaches from tight ponytails (too loose, and the hair tie slides right off). I'm willing to spend if it's worth it; I've bought the similarly-priced Mello claw clips and liked them enough for a repurchase when I lost mine. I wanna know if it does stay put all day without needing to readjust often, and if it pulls tight on the scalp. And of course, if it's durable.
