UFC Fighter Ian Garry says if women ruled the world everything would be better: “If the world was run by women, we’d all live in a better world. If we just listened to them and let them takeover, it would be an easier world”

Discussion How did you deal with internalized misogyny?
I struggle with this a lot, I think, I don't know if it's because I didn't have many female role models in my life at a young age or what.
More specifically, it's hard for me to make friends with other women. I get this thought in my head that they aren't like me, that I'm either too much or too little of a woman to be even considered to be friendly with them.
(Plus, I'm just in my male dominated spaces what with what games I play and what shows I enjoy, and it's like i dont meet many other women in those spaces.)
Sorry I wish I had my thoughts more cohesive.

Chrissie Hynde
Chrissie Hynde is an American-British[2] singer, songwriter and musician. She is a founding member of the rock band the Pretenders and is the band's lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter. Hynde is the only continuous member of the Pretenders, having appeared on every studio album released by the band. Hynde eschews formal voice training; she contends that "distinctive voices in rock are trained through years of many things: frustration, fear, loneliness, anger, insecurity, arrogance, narcissism, or just sheer perseverance – anything but a teacher."

Discussion One day we need to have a serious discussion about how white supremacy is always linked to pedophilia
Because it seems like every other day I'm hearing about a MAGA supporter being arrested on child abuse charges.

Just venting! Yesterday a patient told me to hold his dick
Context: I'm a med student. Yesterday an intoxicated patient came in and had to be held down so that we could get an arterial line in. Later he said he had to piss, so the nurses got a long bottle for him and he looked at me and slurred "the one who's holding my legs can hold my cock". Fuck that. I also couldn't understand what he said at first, so I couldn't say anything back, which makes it more humiliating.

New subreddit for GenX “Karens”
A couple friends and I who moderate a different subreddit have started a new one, r/GenXKarens, focused on us “women of a certain age”. I try to post a little something every day, but it’s brand new. If you’re interested, please check it out!

What *acceptable* safety gear can we carry around?
Besides the fact of I am a (small and uncoordinated) women and basically need to carry pepper spray everywhere since our predators are more protected by law than we are, I also work in a increasingly dangerous neighborhood, with intoxicated people walking around and harassing people.
Unfortunately, my pepper spray is not allowed most places, and I do need something at all times. Do you guys have recommendations of sprays (like the ones for muscle ache) that would work to momentarily hurt someone's eyes?
Any other tips are appreciated but honestly I am a second away from buying a taser (which also wouldn't be allowed in my work place )
Thank you and stay safe!
