Looking for Gift Ideas Stumped - grad school gift for someone with few needs

Hello everyone,

I look forward to any ideas anyone wants to throw out there for this one because I am stumped.

The gift is for a man who's graduated with his master's degree. Late 20s. Still lives at home with no immediate plans to move. No job yet, uncertain what exact path they will take career wise, but likely will not be a traditional office job so a lot of the ideas that might go with that may not really fit. Has very little wants or needs since they live at home. I don't think they drink. I will be traveling to give the gift so cannot get anything local to them or me. They tend to have higher end tastes in things (even though that doesn't necessarily fit my budget).

Would like to spend around $50, no more than $100 though.

Any idea is very much appreciated!!!!!

Looking for Gift Ideas Help me find a gift for my mechanic dad

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

My dad is turning 63 this year. He is also a mechanic and loves to grill/cook. Especially chicken and steak.

Looking for a simple gift idea (he would hate it if I bought something expensive for him).

In the past I got him some spices, a smoker, and a flashlight for mechanics and he really enjoyed those types of things.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift ideas for a gardener?

Hello all my mother's birthday isn't until winter but i still like keeping a list of things to get people usually i always get her the same things and often a big bag of different gifts for mothers day and her birthday this year she has been really into gardening and honestly i have no clue about the hobby. She already has a pretty big garden going at the moment she has arches, lights a few plants she's not really growing veggies just yet and she's got all of the accessories and most tools. The only thing i can think to get her that she doesn't have is maybe some kind of apron with a pretty pattern but i don't think that would be enough or that exciting lol she is also very interested in growing roses right now and she has a little greenhouse too. I was wondering about things i could get her she might not have or things she will need in the future and hasn't thought about buying yet. She buys a lot of pots often during her grocery run and she watches a lot of videos on this topic so i feel a bit like a fish out of water in terms of what to get her. Any ideas? what do you wish you would have been given as a gift?.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift idea for someone who loves early morning routines?

I have a friend who's one of those people who's always up before everyone else. They enjoy quiet mornings, taking their time with breakfast, journaling, and starting the day without feeling rushed.

I'd love to get them something that fits into that part of their routine, but I'm trying to think beyond the usual coffee mug or candle.

Has anyone given a gift for someone like this that ended up becoming part of their daily routine? I'd appreciate any ideas.

Looking for Gift Ideas Visiting London 🇬🇧 and need ideas for cool gifts to bring back

Hi all,

I’ve been in London for almost 2 months and I want to get the people in my life something cool, but not necessarily a London 🇬🇧 magnet or tote bag.

My grandma likes plants. Are there any local places I can get her something cutesy?

My sister probably would like a souvenir but a cool one lol!

And my mom loves fragrances/body oils and it would be cool to get her something exclusive to London or the UK in general!

Any ideas??

Birthday ideas for my boyfriend (31M)

My boyfriend is turning 31 soon, and I want to make this birthday feel really special. He’s the kind of person who always goes out of his way to make me feel loved and celebrated, and this year I want to match that energy but I’m honestly struggling because being expressive doesn’t come naturally to me.

A bit about him:
He’s a proud plant dad, loves reading, loves watching f1, Complete nerd when it comes to history and politics.

I’m not necessarily looking for expensive gifts. I’m more interested in thoughtful ideas.

If you’ve ever done something really meaningful for a partner (or had something done for you), I’d love to hear it. Especially if you’re someone who’s not naturally great at expressing your feelings but found a way to make it count.

Thanks in advance!

Necklace for girlfriend

I originally was going to get her the “Heart Cuban Chain Bracelet” from Pandora in Gold. Thankfully, I (not suspiciously) got her to tell me she doesn’t really like bracelets, so now i’m looking for a good necklace to buy. In case you don’t know, the bracelet i originally planned on getting was $230, so my absolute price MAXIMUM is $250, but i’d prefer something cheaper. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on a necklace that’s similar to the bracelet I planned on getting her please let me know. For reference, she wears Gold, and wears these small gold hoop earrings.

Looking for Gift Ideas Need a gift idea for my stepdad - mom wedding

So for context my mom is about to marry my stepdad after he proposes, they been together for 3 years. Me and him we never bond like a father-daughter maybe because I left for college and only got to meet him on summer break(which he&I didn’t really stay home from our work schedule) and family trip (around 1 week/year), I only called him by his first name. Well, my mom told me he would like it if I accepted him as a father figure (which I was ok with).

So I’m planning on give them a custom made jewelry my mom a brooch and my stepdad a tie clip, which they will have matching stones. for him I’m planning on simpler designs and I want to engrave something nice on the back, this is where I need an idea cus I think engrave ’dad’ or ‘father’ will be too simple.

Looking for Gift Ideas Need birthday gift ideas for my older sister (budget ₹2k–2.5k)

My sister’s birthday is coming up, and I’m completely stuck on what to get her.
We have a 6+ year age gap, so I’m not always sure what she’d actually like. I was thinking instead of buying one expensive gift, I could put together a small gift box with a few thoughtful things.
My total budget is around ₹2,000–2,500.
A little about her:
She’s in her early 30s.
She likes practical gifts but also appreciates thoughtful ones.
I’m looking for something that feels personal rather than just another generic mug or photo frame.
Any ideas for small gifts that go well together? Could be self-care, home, food, stationery, accessories, or anything you’ve gifted your sister that was a hit.
Would love to hear your suggestions!

Gift Card for Retiring Contractor?

This is a work request. We have a contractor who's worked his tail off for our team for years and is finally moving towards his very deserved retirement. I've got $100 departmental money to spend on a gift, but I'm not sure what to get the man!

We're in Chicagoland, but I have NO idea where he lives. I think a suburb, but that could be anywhere. I say this because I was thinking a restaurant gift card but I don't know how to pick! Is something generic like a multi-use card from ONME.COM appropriate?? or should I go in a different direction entirely?

I could also make him a swag bag with merch from our company, but I wouldn't know his shirt size. I would guess an XL but don't want to be rude if I'm wrong... help!!

My sister reads every label on everything and her birthday is in three weeks, need wine gift help

She will flip a yogurt over and put it back if the sugar is too high. Has not consumed added sugar in like a year. Also loves wine, which is the problem because most wine has residual sugar and she knows it.

Went down a rabbit hole on zero sugar wine brands and most of them are either wildly expensive or get terrible reviews. One that looked promising was Gratsi, they do a 3L box (basically four bottles) of red, white and rosé, all zero sugar. Red's made in France and Italy, white and rosé are France. Free shipping too.

Sampler feels right since she can try everything instead of committing to a full bottle she might not like. Budget is $50-80 and this fits. Other zero sugar wine brands worth considering?

Looking for Gift Ideas What to get a friend (30f) who’s recently divorced and living alone?

My friend is turning 30 and has had a rough year! She got divorced and is living alone for the first time. She’s very extroverted and a little codependent, and she’s trying to get better at being alone. I’m wondering if you have any gift ideas for her?

She seems to have most cooking supplies, step stool, plunger, etc… all the things you would gift a single person.

She likes: the outdoors, her cat, watching reality tv, romance novels and shows, hanging out with friends, traveling.

She’s also queer and wanting to embody that identity more post-break up.

Looking for Gift Ideas cup for mom

not sure if this is too specific of a request for this sub, but i'm trying to find a specific cup for my mom. she takes coffee with her to work, but right now we only have glass cups, so she has to finish it on her drive. i've been looking for a cup for her that she can take into work with her. but she works in a courthouse, so it can't be glass. or metal, i believe. she likes clear cups so ones that are clear would be preferable. and ones that have a lid + straw. i know this is pretty specific, which is why i came here, as i haven't had much luck finding one.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift ideas for my fiancé?

Hi! my fiancé’s birthday is in a few months and I really wanna do something special for him but money is tight. He is working really hard, overtime and nights, to help me get through school. I’m student teaching for fall so my money is extremely tight. Our apartment is also already cluttered so I don’t think he’d want any like decorations or stuff like that. He is a big gamer owns like any game you could imagine and works nights driving long distances (new job). I’m really stuck on what to do so any ideas would be really appreciated. Especially if it’s something that would be useful for him. Thank you!

Looking for ideas for my 9 year old grandson who has a party this Sunday for his best friend who is turning 9. They don’t get to see each other much other than school, but have attended each other parties for the past few years (this is year 3). Friend got a ton of Minecraft stuff last year. He gave grandson a nice Starwars LEGO set this year. Just looking for unique ideas. The party is at an old fashioned arcade.

Looking for Gift Ideas good underwear as a gift, thoughtful or awkward

thinking about getting a partner or close friend a set of quality underwear as part of a gift. feel like it could be thoughtful if done right everyone needs it, quality matters, and it is something people do not always splurge on for themselves.i have been looking at Sukrew as one of the options, but i am still not sure if underwear is the kind of gift people actually appreciate.

at the same time not sure whether it comes across as odd depending on the relationship. also practically not sure how to navigate sizing without making it weird

curious whether people have given or received underwear as a gift and whether it landed well
