What are your recent observations of Gemini's performance?

I routinely test every frontier model and have always been a fan of Gemini because if its flexibility and power and reliability. This latest batch including Gemini 3.6 Flash is a disaster. If you ask an AI for the latest news in the last 24 hours, that should be what you get. If you ask it to code a simple app you should get a working simple app and not something that doesn't work. 3.6 is a big step back in my testing.

It gives wrong and outdated information, and even when I show it that it's wrong, it still stubbornly insists. I never thought I would get this angry because of an ai. With the last update, it has become a complete idiot.

Title. The app feels so heavy and slow compared to chatGPT or claude. Whenever I try opening a previous chat, it always fails and shows "loading chat failed" while the same task is almost instantaneous on GPT and claude. It is so annoying I have to clear the gemini app from ram and reopen it multiple times before it loads. Yes, i have tried reinstalling the app.

I believe we can use many of the old models of Gemini in Google AI studio? But why aren't they in the Gemini app? Doesn't chatgpt have some old models in the app to choose from?

I'm saying this because with all the talk online - specially twitter - people seem to really hate Flash 3.6. Myself, I feel it's really faster but afraid that this would affect it's performance.

Also als würde sie halt ein Audio recording nehmen und da ist dann einfach wiederholen. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich der einzigste damit bin und ich weiß, es wird sich verrückt. Dann aber es ist jetzt schon zweimal passiert. Also kann es langsam kein Zufall oder ein Bug mehr sein .

I asked for the benchmarks (reasoning) of the latest models from different AI families and it gave me an outdated data.

It's a new conversation as well. Funny how 3.6 Flash is the latest model and was advertised as something that is better compared to previous models, but failed on a simple task.

It's a totally unreliable source of information, extremely frustrating, and a complete waste of time.

This is embarrassing to google, but no worries wait guys Google will comeback soon cuz I love google and have faith on then (Google Deepmind)

Google focusing on efficiency instead of benchmaxing is super smart and 3.6 is still very capable for the majority of use cases.

99% of people don't give a damn about frontier model benchmarks and the cost effectiveness for the average business user is exactly what companies are looking for.

Nobody needs an AI god to create a report or organize a spreadsheet quickly. They just need it to be fast and efficient.
