Wife Paid for a cleaner
It was $170 for 2 hours work including gst and fees the vacuuming was average in parts, I found a tap on and still running, bathroom faucet both in shower and sink still had limescale, they didn’t touch the laundry and they left our back gate wide open. Bremlea area.
Asked them not to go into my kids rooms but focus on the rest of the house alowing them more time on those rooms the house was tidied very well by us first but the kids had a fucking field day right before the cleaner got in so I said don’t worry about it big mistake as it just allowed them to not do what could be done
Would you pay such a high amount??? 2 hours work 2 lounge rooms 2 bathrooms 2 toilets kitchen main bed with WIR
Cob webs still visible and dust still on cabinets etc

Company did not try and reconcile when concerns were raised
we are a young family that’s been completely ripped off
We never have extra money like ever
But I did OT and wanted us to have a treat
House is clean but I’m disappointed in the standard
That was our extra money gone

Is this standard

If not who do you recommend for next time

Why dont people in Geelong turn their headlights on when driving in torrential rain, whats the benefit.

Not Geelong specific and I am a simple man but l love watching people who have reverse parked at a shopping centre and realise that they have backed up to a wall, post, another car or garden bed and can’t get behind their car to load their groceries in. Seeing someone standing in a garden bed trying to stop their trolley rolling down the footpath makes me smile. Also because I am a hypocrite l have done it myself

Hi everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I don't post often. I’m (20yr NB) looking for some advice on making friends, joining clubs, or finding some new hobbies around Geelong.

I’ve been feeling pretty isolated for a while. I lost most of my social life during high school after developing chronic fatigue syndrome following COVID, which meant I was mostly housebound/bedbound for a couple of years. I’ve improved a lot since then, but rebuilding a social circle has been harder than I expected. I’m also feeling quite bored and would like to do something new.

I’ve been studying a BA/BSc at Deakin for the last couple of years, but I haven’t really managed to make close friends. I’ve tried joining some uni clubs, but Waurn Ponds feels pretty quiet outside of classes. I’m considering travelling to Burwood more often in order to make some friends as they seem to have very active clubs, but I’d also love to find things closer to home.

Before getting sick I was pretty active, so I’m looking to slowly get back into that kind of lifestyle and try some new things.

A bit about me:

• Live near Geelong Waterfront.
• Studying Arts/Science at Deakin (thinking of studying Masters of Teaching)
• Interested in cooking, music, movies (especially SciFi), swimming, hiking/walking, DnD and politics (don’t worry, I’m friendly and enjoy talking across the aisle).
• I’d love to try something social like a team sport (although I have never played a team sport before), sailing, flying, or a hiking group. I’m considering joining the Geelong yacht club to do a course in order to meet others/gain a new skill.

I’d really like to find a community where I can feel like I belong and make some genuine friendships.

Does anyone have advice for making friends, or recommendations for clubs, sports, volunteering, classes, or social groups around Geelong? Or if anyone is also looking for new friends, I’d be happy to grab a coffee sometime! Happy to meet up with people from all ages, I'm not picky :)

I’m craving fresh Turkish delight in the original flavour. I saw a video last night of Turkish delight and weirdly that’s all I can think of and am craving. I’m not eating much cause most things are making me gag and I’m in pain and sick most of the time, but I could really do with a cube of Turkish delight. I’ve tried looking for some today in the Waurn Ponds area and I couldn’t find anything. I’ve checked all supermarkets too and they only have Turkish Delight covered in chocolate and the thought and smell of chocolate is making me gag. Any suggestions to find some around the Waurn Ponds or Highton area would be appreciated. I will be up in North Geelong this week too for appointments so if there are any suggestions in that area, let me know too, thanks!

I'm starting to get very serious about riding a motorcycle and getting all the gear and a learner permit etc but just wanted to see other peoples experiences on the road around the Geelong Area that ride, Have you had many issues with other motorists not seeing you or nearly colliding with you?

I am out of my depths here. A partly estranged family member has taken out a vexatious restraining order against me, which I believe they’re using for other purposes rather than for safety (we haven’t had in person contact for nearly a decade and don’t talk directly, and they use these things as weapons to control, also their claims aren’t real violence)
I contested it, it went to further better and particulars, and my response pointed out all the inconsistencies, the facts they got wrong, the lying, and just the fact that the whole damn thing is speculation.
At the mention hearing, their lawyer is mad and we will be going to a contested hearing, he’s coming across like it’s gonna be a full blown criminal hearing, talking about subpoenas and stuff. He’s a bloody ex police prosecutor too.

*I need a specialised lawyer, one who is experienced in messy, muddy hearings and dealing with vindictive, delusional people*
I don’t know how to find who’s right or good, or truly vet them. I’ve heard too many horror stories of lawyers saying all yep yep yep and then being shit, or dropping off once they’re paid.

About a week ago I made a post saying I was struggling to meet people around Geelong and find mates to play golf with. So I decided to give it a crack making a social group.

It's called Grip It & Sip It. The idea isn't about taking golf too seriously, it's simply about getting a few people together for a relaxed round, having a laugh and maybe grabbing a drink afterwards.

I've organised the first meetup at Barwon Valley Golf Course on Saturday 15 August (afternoon tee time), and I'm hoping to find the first few people who'd like to help get the group off the ground.

All skill levels are welcome. You don't need a handicap, and you definitely don't need to be a great golfer. If you're someone who enjoys golf (or wants to get back into it) and likes the idea of meeting some new people, I'd love to hear from you.
