Using AI to create covers, animations for your mixes.
Hello,
I am interested in knowing the opinion and thoughts of members of the community on this matter. I am DJ for a long time, and recently I have been working in a project of series of mixes following a specific kind of music that I like. Basically, is Funky, French, Soulful, Nu-Disco, and tracks that has a nice groove, that some other categories could fit and create kind of a series of "this project"
Obviously, I am knowledgable on music and other sorts of technology, however, with the new tools available with IA, you can create covers, animations for your videos, and other useful content you can create. I am not skilled on video editing or creating animations, either with photoshop or photo editing tools. I see no point on spending loads of hours on learning video editing and photo editing, when I want to focus on music, to upload a set every week.
Plus we all know, that now DJs needs to handle social media, upload sets on multiple platforms, and many other tasks that are time consuming. I do agree that the overuse of IA is everywhere. however, here comes my question
When you upload your mixes on Mixcloud, Soundcloud. How do you create your covers? You use a picture of you? Your logo? you create other tools like Canva or samples from freecopyright images?
For YouTube, how you create your thumbnails and what you use to animate your videos to upload your mixes? Static picture? Samples and then loop it? Record yourself playing? "I can understand that is more ideal to see the DJ playing, however, for each mix is one hour video and if you use 2 or 3 cameras, then is more time consuming, HDD space, and editing.
I am saying this because I have used IA to create a character to do kind of branding and recognisable aesthetic theme of the mixes I am doing, trying to give variety to each mix and doing a unique animations each theme, depending of the volume "mix" released . For my surprise, I have received negative comments on the posts, saying that using IA to create the covers and the animations of the video. I am not sure if they believe that I am creating music using IA.
What are your thoughts regarding this subject? Thank you in advanced

I made a french house track
Hi, I made this French house track. The sample comes from a famous French song by a very famous French singer. I hope you like it. If you have any advice, I’ll take them !
Love

What does Angèle's - 'Dis-le' sound like?
The Belgian singer Angèle just came out with a new song that leans more heavily into dance/club music than her previous work. I am trying to figure out what it sounds like/reminds me of, but keep hitting dead ends.
It's sort of house, but not quite. The music video alludes to the free party scene, and freetekno, but it's not quite that either. It's not hyperpop, nor is it really drum n' bass. She seems to have been leaning into French Touch lately, but this song doesn't really have that funk element - it's a bit grungier/darker.
It's got a bit of an early 2000s alternative dance pop thing going on, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Does anyone know what genre this would fit into or know of similar songs?
Thank you in advance for your ideas! ✨

Point me in the direction of some 90s/2000s French-House CDs
Preferably DJ mixed CDs; not just artist albums, but will take those too.

BUGGED OUT | DRUMSHEDS | SAT 10 OCT - Etienne de Crécy, Alan Braxe, DJ Falcon and SebastiAn
I'll just be honest. I hope there's a special guest with SebastiAn...
It's a stellar French House line up. Hoping that a few follow on from each other too to really get a groove.

Can't find obscure French House song
There was a song me and my mom used to listen to back in the late 2000s/2010s. We thought it was the song Pump by Play Paul but now we can't find it anywhere. The song has a vocal sample at the start before the beat drops. To the best of my memory it goes like "and when I move my feet, I just get into the groove and feel no heat. And when I'm on this fucking dance floor, I only want some more of this groove this bass thing and I can't cant hold myself back when the DJ is pumping up the volume like that". The guy in the vocal sample sounds American and drunk. Like an older drunk guy.

Has anyone attended one of these Daft Disko events?
Bought my ticket for one of these events, but wondering if it's truly a full event of French-House, or is it 1 hour of French-house and the rest of the event Top40 dance tracks?

Track ID "Fleetwood Mac - Tell Me Lies", but it was a French House mix, can't find it anymore
Need help on finding this track, it was mostly a sample (or a mix) of Fleetwood Mac - Tell Me Lies, but mixed in a upbeat dance house style. Searching for 'tell me lies house remix' brings up nothing. I remember listening to that in a auto recommended YouTube track playlist a year ago.
I might be wrong, but it could be one of those waxes some DJs do with only a few house tracks, I guess the video had a spinning vinyl PNG on it.

New interview with Étienne de Crécy
"This week, we welcome Étienne de Crécy, a house hero for any sensible musical brain, back to Line Noise. Last time out, in 2023, we spoke about the origins of Étienne - Motorbass, Super Discount and all - so in this interview I wanted to catch up with what he had been doing since then. That included the Flashback tour, playing vinyl, songs that do and don’t work with modern audiences, his excellent Warm Up album, working with Damon Albarn, football and playing live versus DJing. We also look ahead to the 30th anniversary of his classic Super Discount."
I hope you might enjoy it. Lots of French House, as you might imagine.
