We were trying to max out my Sprite so I went off to loot. I came back expecting a fight..instead, my duo had built a giant heart. I still have no idea how nobody shot him while he was doing this. ❤️😂

I know this is SUCH a longshot but I need to ask -- so, I bought the Marigold quest pack to get the V-Bucks and thought the skin was cool (I've always liked the Midas gold mechanics). Well, as I was looking at the skin closer, it hit me that she looks EXTREMELY close, in fact almost identical, to someone from my past who was very, very abusive. To the point that every time I go through my locker and pass by the skin, I feel genuinely nauseous and panicked. And I know that may seem really stupid, it's just a Fortnite skin that's literally animated and cannot actually hurt me, but I seriously cannot stand seeing the skin now.

I tried reaching out to support when I first bought it before I'd claimed any V-Bucks from the quest, hoping it could be returned, but since it's got a built-in quest I can't. And I know there's probably not a way to hide it or get it out of my locker, but legitimately I'd almost pay another $18 just to have it removed from my locker.

EDIT: Wow y'all are fast -- thank you guys for bringing the archive feature to my attention! I'd somehow never seen that before but I've done it now and can't see her unless I intentionally look through archived skins. Didn't know this was a thing before now but thank y'all for the help 🥲🫶💕

I’ve been watching a lot of high-level Fortnite lately, especially Solo Cash Cups, trying to learn from the best players.
While watching one of Peterbot’s recent Cash Cup games, I noticed something that genuinely made me stop and replay it over and over. I clipped the 22-second moment and attached it here.
I’m not accusing Peterbot of cheating, so please don’t turn this into that kind of thread. I know he’s one of the best players in the world and there’s obviously a reason he’s won so much.
That being said… this clip just looks weird to me.
When the other player jumps, Peterbot’s crosshair seems to snap onto him almost instantly. But what really caught my attention is what happens right after. It almost looks like his crosshair sticks to the player for a split second while he’s flying through the air, and it still looks connected even as the player is moving toward cover.
I’ve watched competitive Fortnite for years and I’ve seen thousands of crazy flicks from top pros, but I honestly don’t remember seeing one that looked like this.
I’ve watched this clip frame by frame and I still can’t figure out if it’s just an insane flick, some weird visual effect, or if I’m completely misunderstanding what I’m seeing.
So I’m asking the people here who are good at breaking down pro gameplay:
What exactly is happening here?
Is this just elite mouse control that looks weird in slow motion, or is there something else that explains why it looks like the crosshair stays attached to the player?
I’m genuinely curious because I’ve never seen anything that looked quite like this.

Observation : I edited the video with meme noises cause I posted this in my tick tock, but either way, u can see clearly that his crosshair locks on to the player.

I first learned about Fortnite when my oldest was 8 and started playing- yes I know it's rated T for teen, 6 years later I still play with my now 14 yr old and 10 yr old.

For me it's fun and I make awesome memories with my kids.

When I was growing up I would have loved either parent to get into something I liked, so as my kids grow up I check out every game/song/show they enjoy.

I was just wondering if others on here game with their kids - young kids to adult kids?

So I used to play a lot of Wii FPS when I was growing up and always loved how intuitive and precise the aiming felt. After playing a lot of Fortnite on PC recently, I started to crave that control scheme again. Out of curiosity, I tried connecting my Wii remote to my PC and had SOME success using it (programmed as a mouse via GlovePie), but I realized it would never be quite like playing an actual Wii shooter because of the way the camera/reticule worked in those games (they weren’t tied together at the center of the screen).

Luckily for me, Fortnite recently added a feature called “Tweak Zone” which allows controller players to aim more freely without the camera necessarily moving. (I actually emailed them asking if they could implement something like this about 6 months ago. Not sure if my email actually worked or if it was just a coincidence, but I’ll take it haha.) So I connected my Wii remote to my PC again but this time as a virtual Xbox 360 controller (using Gunmote) and maxed out the Tweak Zone settings.

And honestly, it feels amazing to play! It feels very similar to shooters made for the Wii.

***How to Set This Up***

What you need: 

- PC with Fortnite
- Wii remote/nunchuk
- Sensor bar
- Bluetooth adapter
- Gunmote

Some optional things:

- Dolphinbar, which replaces the need for a sensor bar and Bluetooth adapter as it is both in one. I just use a USB sensor bar and a Bluetooth adapter so I can’t speak to the specific steps for setting it up but I’ve heard it’ll work. 
- USB extension cable if using Bluetooth adapter. It helps get the adapter as close as possible to the Wii remote to ensure a strong connection while playing.  

First you’re going to need to download and install Gunmote (it’s free). Here’s the link:

Then you’re going to make sure your Bluetooth adapter and sensor bar are plugged in and working. I recommend putting the Bluetooth adapter in a USB 2.0 slot, and moving it as close as possible to your Wii remote without any obstructions to ensure the strongest connection. I recommended using a USB extension for this reason.

Next you’re going to pair your Wii remote to your PC from within Gunmote. It’ll tell you how on the main screen. 

Then you’re going to hit settings in the top right, and make sure the “sensor mode” is toggled to the correct position. 

Now you can hit “Wiimote Configuration” and start mapping the Wii remote/nunchuk inputs as Xbox 360 inputs. For reference, here is a simple diagram of how mine is mapped out which includes both my Gunmote and Fortnite mappings (my layout is optimized for Zero Build by the way, but I think it may still be a good starting starting point if you play Build):

You’re going to want to make sure that the “Pointer” is mapped as the Right Stick, and that Right/Left/Up/Down Pointer are mapped to the corresponding stick press.

Under each pointer direction are pointer settings. I recommend 0 Deadzone, 2 - 2.4 Scale, and 0 Threshold. You can play with these values of course but this is what I’ve found works best. Currently I’m using 2.2 for Scale and the other two are at 0.

Now in Fortnite make sure you choose "Custom" next to Controller Binding Presets and choose "Xbox One" next to Controller Platform (Gunmote doesn’t support Xbox One or series X/S and Fortnite doesn’t support Xbox 360).

Once all of your binds are squared away in Gunmote/Fortnite, make sure Use Advanced Options is toggled "On" and play around with your sensitivity and what not to make sure everything feels good. Here are my settings for reference (just the relevant ones): 

Look Horizontal Speed: 100%

Look Vertical Speed: 100%

Turning Horizontal Boost: 5%

Turning Horizontal Boost: 5%

Turning Boost Ramp Time: 0 seconds

ADS Look Horizontal Speed: 100%

ADS Look Vertical Speed: 100%

Look Input Curve: Exponential 

Right Stick Dead Zone: 5%

And of course, make sure Tweak Zone Aiming is set to “Always On”. I recommend maxing out both the “Tweak Zone” and “Tweak Offset” values for maximum range. 

Also, to activate your Gunmote settings/binds, hold the home button for a couple seconds and choose the layout you just made.

Now you are ready to play! Enjoy :D

Here are my suggestions for the Gunmote and Fortnite developers in case any of them see this or if you'd like to pass the message along haha: 

Gunmote: 

- Add ability to map button combos (e.g. A + B together) or double tapping a single button to count as a different input
- Add ability to have different pointer settings (deadzone/scale/threshold) when holding down specific button (e.g. holding Z to aim down sights also lowers the pointer sensitivity)
- Add option to have the controller output be PS4 and/or PS5 to add more mappable buttons  

Fortnite:

- Increase the maximum “tweak offset” value so that aiming can reach edges of screen
- Decrease the minimum “right/left stick dead zone” value to 0, so that turning can be immediate if desired

Have no idea if he'll see this or not, but just in case. There was a Peter Griffin skin on the spawn island for ZB with the Pollo sprite, and there were about 5 or 6 people all swinging their pickaxes at him all at once. I (Heatwave PJ) started sliding into the people attacking him to knock them away.

Then the bus came. I had no intention of going after him, I don't target people from the spawn island for sprites. I just dropped at my usual spot by the hill at the southern point of the snowy area with the trampoline. A minute later, I'm heading up to the little ski lodge lift there by Lifty Lodge.

I see the footsteps and I get ready, then see the door open and I immediately shoot. I was fighting on instinct, not realizing the person I was fighting was Peter Griffin until it was too late. I killed him, and the Pollo sprite sat there on the ground. I, the one person defending him in the spawn island, was the one who killed him with the sprite everyone was after. I didn't even intend to, I had no idea where he was dropping and didn't plan on running into him.

I extracted it, but if that Peter Griffin player sees this, I'm the Heatwave PJ player who killed you in the ski lift building when you had the Pollo sprite. Again, so sorry and I wouldn't have killed you if I realized it was you earlier. Here's hoping you get enough sprite dust to bring the sprite back.

Tbh I don’t understand the hate with the pen & ink skins i think they’re cool. Yeah i get it people think its lazy but some of the regular versions are battle pass locked but its a good alternative

Why epic… No more sprites… I’m tired of collecting them.. it’s not fun anymore especially if you keep adding more and more … we have less than a month to collect and master 91 sprites.. like most of us have lives .. your ruining summer.. is it just me or does anyone feel the same way?

I understand why this game is so addicting now. My students talked about it a lot and I could never understand why, but now that my GF got me into it, via PS4 I've been playing pretty frequently. Grabbed a few skins, and I've gotten to the 100s in levels. A few things I've learned with my time:

1.) I'm an incredible shot (except for when I'm not / at the final 10 to 5 players)

2.) Shot guns deal great close range damage (except for when I hit for like 60 shield while the opponent shaves my health)

3.) NPCs are sometimes pretty useful (they will get stuck on geography and telegraph where you are at all times)

4.) Movement options like Crack Rocks (I forgot their name), Seven Sneakers and Grenades are a must.

5.) Do not go to Sinister Strip. Everyone wants the Infinite Sneakers. And Baba Yaga. If the bus is flying over that red jelly bean looking building, pass it.

6.) PLAY THE GAMES AT WONKEELAND!!!!! SHOOT TO POINTS, GET THE STUFF!!!! (I've been snuck 87 times)

7.) Trees are great coverage for sniping (I missed at least 8 times and have given away my position before I finally got headshot)

8.) Running into buildings provides great coverage. (Where are the footsteps coming from. I can hear them. They're in the walls. THEY'RE IN THE GODDAMN WALLS)

9.) Try to take out the bosses for cool weapons! (Skeletor has siphoned my last bullet and the Voidblade has taken all my shield. Wolfe... uh. You're doing your best buddy.)

10.) If the situation is not ideal, flee and fight another day! (What do you MEAN they chased me down!?! I had 30 movement options ready!!?)

11.) Check your surroundings at all times. You never know when you might have the jump on someone! (They put down a Turret, my health is leaving me)

12.) Sprite mastery requires a lot of skill, so be sure you're on your A game with rarer sprites! (Aaaand there goes my holofoil Batman at #94)

13.) Do not go to the Battlewoods. People die in the Battlewoods.

14.) Emoting is often a sign of friendship amongst players. (We danced under the light of the Extraction and you repay me by shooting me in the back?! I thought we had something SPECIAL)

15.) Vehicles can help you get out of range of trouble. (DING DONG HI EVERYONE I'M DRIVING IN MY BATMOBILE LOUD AS FUCK IF YOU WANNA HIT ME I'M RIGHT HERE IN THIS BATMOBILE)

16.) The Storm might be intimidating, but you can brave it if you have enough healing! (I'm sitting in front of a mending machine, 1 gold short of a jug. please spare a gold. I'm 5 ticks away please )

17.) Third party everyone if you want to win a battle. (You'll be fourth partied. And the next person will be fifth partied.)

18.) Missions help you get an edge on the competition. (Dylan, please, I eliminated someone with a shot gun like 2 minutes before you called, there is no one for miles, please)

19.) Vaults are rare, but if you get a key to one, it's probably a good idea to go there! (Why is it 600m away. I'm not gonna get anything good am I)

20.) This game is a lot of fun when you don't have stakes involved. Despite all of the nonsense that happens sometimes, there's a joy I get when watching or doing something cool!
