I have a 2015 328i xdrive. This coilovers are for the RWD version f30s but these best fit my budget. Would they still work installation wise and if no, what other coilover options do I have?

Hey, my f30 328i n26 seems to shake a bit for a second or a few on idle, and seems to increase when the engine gets warmer.

The spark plugs and coils were changed, and the shake existed before changing them. It only happens on idle, and is not constant. Acceleration feels smooth. Injectors also replaced.

No fault codes. What coild it point to?

recently changed my OFH on my 2016 340i with 97k miles and I noticed the filter had some metal, I installed a new filter drove it about 250 miles and noticed this on the new filter ? the metal itself is magnetic so is my motor eating itself ?

I’ve had the car for 3 weeks. The check engine has come on 3 times and had turned itself off within 30 mins. when I scan the car it’s these codes, but these same codes appear when I scan the car even with the cel off. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi there! Just bought my first bmw ever. It’s a f30 340ix 2018 with 100k km. The problem is it has a front end collision. I need help getting the correct parts and I’m going to do the most of the repairs myself. I am having trouble figuring out what I need besides a radiator, hoses and I believe a heat exchanger. I’m looking to upgrade the suspension on my 2014 BMW F30 328i RWD, and I’m currently deciding between the Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit and the KW V1.

My goal is a more precise, direct and confidence-inspiring driving experience, with significantly less body roll in corners and during lane changes. I’m also looking for a moderate drop (around 20–30 mm) to improve the overall stance, while keeping the car practical for daily driving.

The reason I’m unsure is that I’ve received completely contradictory advice from different workshops. One highly recommended the Bilstein B12 and said it’s an excellent setup. Another told me to avoid it and recommended the KW V1 because, in their experience, it doesn’t drive well and tends to wear out relatively quickly.

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have actually owned either setup for a while.
How has the reliability been?
How does the car feel on the road?
If you had to choose again, would you buy the same suspension?

I just picked up an 2016 328i xdrive. I wanna get xhp however the car is at 120k kms and before I get xhp I wanna get a transmission fluid change. The checked with the previous owner and they did not get that done but other than that the car was well maintained. I have just heard that changing it when the kms are too high is bad for the transmission since ZF recommends every 80k kms

I thought it was a bad bearing in my hpfp so I replaced that and it didn’t help, the noise came after I replaced my manifold at least that’s what I believe couldn’t hear much bc I had waste gate rattle😂

Do I need to replace this screw on the coolant overflow reservoir? No leaks seem to be coming from any hoses or connections, just the overflow reservoir itself. Is this common? Replace whole reservoir or just the screw?

i thought it was the charge pipe but my dad is saying it’s not. i’m lowk an idiot tho so i trust him more. but i thought the charge pipe goes from turbo to intake manifold? who knows. i’m a fool

It's a 2015 BMW 335i with 80k miles it has the N55 and any time it's in gear or starts revving a little bit not higher than 1500-2000 rpm's (best heard in seconds 5-8 in the video above) I hear a little like rattle ish sound pls help me out guys, am I cooked? Can I fix it? No codes yet.

2017 with only 35k miles. This thing is mint, I swear must've been a grandma that owned this thing. Gonna take it in for service and inspection, but it drives great.

I am looking for a bit of quick advice.

I had a new front strut fitted a couple of weeks ago and i was getting some vibration whilst under moderate braking. It didn't happen under light braking and disappeared under heavier braking.

I thought it was the disks/pads on their last legs, but I am not so sure now. The knocking sounds like it is coming from the top of the strut. (I appreciate that it is often misleading exactly where sounds come from on a car.)

On looking at the nut on the top of the damper, i don't think it is tightened down fully. I don't have a spanner that properly fits on the nut but whilst using the one that virtually fits, it feels like the nut can be flexed in either direction - like the nut is cross threaded and isn't bearing down fully. It is certainly tight.

As a check, i took the weight off the strut and the nut moves down about 3mm or 1/8th inch. Is that normal behaviour from the top mount?

I'll take it back into the workshop on Thursday, but was looking for help/comments on my observations.

So I got my f30 320i recently and it came with no oem carplay, i had previously used E-Sys to code carplay into my f33 420d and was successful. This time I was able to code carplay but my headunit didn't support it as it didn't have the WLAN connector at the back so I bought a headunit that had it and was known to work for oem carplay coding (PN 8705960). I installed it and the interface was all messed up it didn't have an assigned cafd in e-sys so i assigned it one and vo coded it and now it all works with my screen running id6 but the navigation just says 'loading..' and is greyed out, also when using tool32 to load up the enavevo.prg file it doesn't provision carplay into the car in the connect new device section. So i'm honestly just a bit lost as i'm still new to this. I am UK based if that makes any difference for the headunit. Would love if anyone has knowledge and is willing to help out!

Looking to put some HR springs on my 340xi. Wanted to get the upgraded stops to have better ride quality and less wear. I see a set on ECS for $95 usd, is that a fair price for these ? Need all 4 of course.

I only got 31 mpg in my 440i with this monstrosity on my roof. And probably 500-600 lbs of crap in the car.

I’ve been stuck on this for awhile but finally got enough coating stripped clean to get my flare tool to clamp. How does this flare look? I have a couple more to do so want to make sure I’m on track before moving on.

So I hit a bump the other day and all of sudden my radio restarts. Like a full head unit reset. Now, my screen says no device configured for Bluetooth audio but on my phone it’s showing that Bluetooth is connected and audio is play. I’ve tried to delete all devices on the car and reconnect….no change. Is this the part where I drive it off a cliff? Yes I know is dusty, leave me be.

I have a 2018 320i M Sport (87k miles) and a coolant issue that is baffling me…
I only bought the car around 4 months ago, and about 3/4 weeks after purchase, I started getting warnings about coolant level being low.
I topped it up as normal in the hope that it may have just needed a top up as it may have never been done before.
After 1/2 weeks, got the message again.
I had someone come out to look at it to diagnose it under the warranty. They looked all around and struggled to find it, eventually they spotted some residue around the water pump and recommended that we replace that.
As part of the work the coolant was drained and topped up fully.
As expected, after a drive, it did flag again to say it was low, but I was advised this may happen after a full flush. So I proceeded to top it up again
Fast forward another couple of weeks, still getting the message repeatedly…
I don’t see any physical leaks and doesn’t appear to be head gasket.
Does anyone have any other ideas what it could be before I have to pay BMW to look at it?
