S Watching phones in public

Why do people seem shocked that other people can hear their phones when watching tv or reels at a restaurant?!

I may not be able to understand it, but if it’s loud enough for you to follow then yeah, it’s loud enough for other people to hear.

Usually I get indignant assholes telling me to shut up, but sometimes it’s genuine shock “oh you can hear it?!”

Yeah. I’m at the next table, not another room.

S Friend treats her friend like a sugar daddy

And I feel uncomfortable when she says what this friend does for her. My friend is currently unemployed and has been for a while. She has a friend (who I’ve never met) that buys her things and furnishes her house for her. You’d think the friend is her boyfriend or something the way she gushes and brags about this. I’m genuinely starting to think the friend is either wealthy or vulnerable.

The craziest thing is she has a guy she’s been dating who she also brags about this friend too which I’m guessing she’s hoping it makes him step up as this man has never taken her out on a date nor has bought her any gifts or helped her in general. It’s more of a fwb situation that she’s ignoring. He’s really stingy and once refused to pick her up after a night out while she was drunk.

This friend has money issues and there’s been times where she will subtly try to announce she has no money at the restaurant just as we are about to pay. But once she realises I will not be paying the whole tab she suddenly has money.

But what has given me the ick is the fact that she’s bragging to others that she has a grown woman funding her lifestyle and she sees it as normal. I also think this is making her entitled to expect help from her friends and not her family and so called man.

S Do Pedestrians still have right of way?

I walk a lot but this time was one of the worst moments where two people turned and rushed me when I was trying to cross. This was at a park too where kids would even walk to. Drivers honking, drivers speeding past and not caring if they hit someone or not. I literally had to RUN across this time to avoid getting hit. Because one of the cars was an inch from me. I tried pointing at the walk light and no response from them at all either.

This wasn’t the only time this happened to me too. Postal service truck tried to turn when my mom and I were right next to them and there’s a sign that said yield to pedestrians that people seem to like ignoring. Years ago, a young woman literally yelled at me and my mom that she didn’t have a stop sign so she thought she had the right to turn into us (week later after that incident a stop sign was put on the road)

Many, many times this has happened and I don’t feel safe walking anywhere anymore. I don’t have a car or a driver’s license and I do have a bike that now I’m afraid to ride. I think the only time they will care is when they get caught and taken to prison for doing so.
