I did this based off of a photo a photographer took of me in their studio. My first time doing the turkey stitch. I was so nervous and ended up really loving it.

I hand stitched this mask during June 2020 and would hate to get rid of it since I like it… but I don’t know what to actually do with it? I don’t plan to wear it ever again. The pieces feel a little awkwardly shaped to repurpose. Any ideas?

The Moss Collector (The Gentle One)
One of the Hollow Folk. Where others see fallen leaves, broken feathers, forgotten buttons, and scraps of moss, the Collector sees memories worth keeping. Nothing abandoned by the forest is ever truly lost while they are near.

This is an original character from a world I have imagined. Each piece in the series is created using mixed media and sculptural embroidery, with layers of padding stitched beneath the fabric to create a three-dimensional form. Rather than simply decorating the surface, the embroidery becomes part of each character’s anatomy and identity.

Got the first one on a whim to keep my hands busy while going through early stages of alcohol recovery. Now I'm onto my third project and everyone is getting something for their birthday/Christmas this year.

Hey weirdos! Currently working on this piece and I cannot decide what to do with the letters. I want this piece to be fun and eye catching! Definitely not afraid of color in this piece.

-Should I do a satin stitch with a high contrasting color?
-should I use brick stitch?
-long and short?

Finally completed the Heartstopper Hoop I have been working on!

The eyes, bow and right ear. It looks so wonky. I'm using just 2 strands.

Finally taking the leap and learning tambour beading!

It's so satisfying and I really love it, it's so much fun and I find the challenge and consistent motions to be soothing.

I thought id share the new stitch outs after ive made adjustments.

1.increased gradient percentage of the secondary gradient color and rotated it clockwise roughly 20°

1. Added 1.5mm border

3.changed out the black for purple.

Enjoying the brighter colors, I used a lavender as the secondary for the yellow ring pop. The yellow completely nullified it. So it mostly looks yellow which wasn't the intention.

What do you think? What color combos should I try next?

Hi all. I’m working on a shirt for a friend that’s got vines and leaves and will have flowers peppered throughout. but I can’t decide if I should leave a gap between the front and back or make it continuous.

What do you all recommend?

I am SO close to finishing this project, but I noticed my letters slanting down and had to unpick, and the holes are super blatant. How can I get rid of this?

I got neon threads, I got glow in the dark paint, and I have a dream. I want to embroider eyes that the iris or scelera glow at night. Am I a fool or a visionary?

Hi all! So I’d like to embroider 3 initials on the spine of this stuffed crocodile, one letter per spiked triangle. Obviously in this case the backing will be visible on the other side of the spine. So, my questions:
1. Is there a type of stitch best suited to this, where the letters will be neat and visible on both sides without an obvious “back”? It doesn’t have to be fancy, just something that looks clean.
2. How can I do this without visible start/end knots on either side?
My ideas so far are a neat back stitch that I continue on both sides (but then how do I do the starting and ending knot), or do a line of French knots on both sides so that the start/end knots are hidden amongst them.
Any and all ideas are welcome!

Due to multiple reasons I got shaky as hell hands and I keep stabbing myself and struggling to tie off my knots 🫩🙄 any advice or tricks?

If I wanted to embroider my own leather patch, how would I do that? What tools or specific fabric/back do I need? Bonus points if I can use that iron on stuff.

Bought these from an estate sale of sorts. Lady (Mary, RIP) was very organized. But these two 352 are clearly different. Can anyone tell me which is the real 352 and what the other one might be? This is such a niche question I know

I'm very much a beginner and definitely did not do enough research before going into my first project. I wanted to just embroider a simple design into a shirt a got, but the material is just too stretchy. Skimming through a beginners guide said "any fabric will do" but I'm starting to think that's not the case. I think its still doable, it just won't look super nice, just good enough at best which I will take.

Does anyone have any tips for how I can go about this, or is this a lost cause?

Hello, I am new to embroidery and trying to embroider with DMC embroidery floss (6 string) and I am having a lot of trouble threading my needle. I was recommended by someone to use ballpoint needles to embroidery on minky and to use 1/6 of the thread from the DMC embroidery floss. It took me 30 minutes to thread the needle and I feel like it's wasting so much of my time.

I notice when I see other needle eyes on this Reddit, the hole is so much bigger... and while I would love to use one of those needles instead of a ballpoint one, I was told that I shouldn't be using such big needles if I want to embroider on minky fabric (I am trying to embroider plushie faces). I know an option is to get one of those automatic needle threaders, but I wasn't sure if it would work since I saw it only works on some needles and some thread.

I attached images of the 1/6 of the DMC embroidery floss and the ballpoint needle I am using (flash and no flash so hopefully people can see my issue).

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!
