To me this bite mark looks pretty fake. I can list probably 5-6 reasons why. I’m curious if my colleagues feel similarly, and if so, maybe you’d like to throw out a reason or two why this doesn’t look right. (Or maybe I’m wrong and you can tell me why).

I sometimes scroll through tik tok and instagram and I see docs that have just graduated rolling around in M3's, Porsches, and showing a "day in their life" in their penthouse/practice.

I know social media can be deceiving, but what on earth is going on here. Are there new grads really doing that well with their practices? Any of yall riding around in a Porsche 911? I don't think I can reasonably afford one til like mid 40s.

General dentist here. I recently did a paid working interview/trial day at a private practice. The owner initially wanted me to sign an employment contract before working, but I told him I wasn't comfortable committing until I had the chance to work there and see if it was a good fit. He agreed, and we agreed on an hourly rate for the trial day.

Worked the day, did not like the office. Before I left that day, he even reminded me to submit my hours, which I did.

After the working interview, I decided not to accept the position later that week.

It's now been over three weeks, and I still haven't been paid for the day I've worked. I've emailed the owner three separate times with no response. I also texted the office manager, who told me she wasn't sure why I hadn't been paid, that the owner had been out of town, and that he'd be back this week. He's now back, and I still haven't heard anything. She also stated she's not in charge of payroll so does not know what to do.

The amount is under 1k, so it's not a crazy amount, but to me it's more about the principle. We had an agreement, I worked the day, submitted my hours as requested, and expected to be paid like anyone else.

At this point I'm torn. Part of me wants to send one final demand email and, if necessary, pursue small claims. The other part of me wonders if I should just let it go because I don't know if I want to keep spending my time and energy chasing someone who, at this point, doesn't seem interested in paying me.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What would you do?

I keep getting conflicting reviews about the biolase laser. Should I pull the trigger or wait and buy the dentsply sirolase?

New patient. Any potential issues with crowning remaining teeth and then making conventional metal framework RPDs? Or would it be wiser to make some type of wax rims jig to establish VDO First before crowning. Pt does have existing resin based flexible partials (they are terrible)that I could probably use for the lab to help them establish occlusion for crowns. Ultimate goal is for metal framework based partials after crowning as perio is stable and teeth have no mobility/decent bone support

She did not renew her contract because the owner doesn't want to give her a well deserved raise.

I just dread the idea of training a new assistant because my previous one just understood me and i didn't need to tell her what to do, she just did it and was fast/clean while working

Patient taking Prolia for osteoporosis needing an extraction of 47. Tooth is borderline g2 mobility. Have tried referring patient to OS incase of MRONJ. The patient is aware of the risk and wants to get it done with me but happy to see OS if MRONJ develops. I think with the amount of bone loss I can do it atraumatically but just wondering if I should debride the socket to remove granulation tissue or just leave it there as it is to prevent bone trauma?

One of the more recent episodes talked about 2 of the top DSO’s declaring chapter 7 bankruptcy/ restructuring and the lenders taking over. The minority equity ownership dentists likely lose all of the “equity “ which as I understand it was a huge chunk of the money they sold their practices for. Just curious if any dentists who have sold/ thinking of selling to a DSO are aware of this?

Current annual= 2476 for 7200 monthly benefit with own occupation/catostrophic

50% increase 3500 for 9200 a month

100% increase 5k for 12k a month

I'm btw not upping or 50%.

Looking to be debt free in two years.

I currently don't have health insurance so rather than upping my disability I wanted to get health as I see this as more statistically useful.

I am 2 years out of school and currently work as an associate. For the most part this is a good gig: I have good mentorship, my boss is kind, I get along well with everyone at the office. However, it is so disorganized, there are so many issues with scheduling, and our lab sucks (I’m talking like they send me crowns with open contacts, they lose my cases and need to start over, they send me the wrong stuff etc.). I’ve talked to my boss and front desk countless times about the way they schedule things (they overpack it, give me like 30 min for quadrant dentistry) and they fix it for like 2 weeks and then it goes right back to how it was. I hate this because I’m constantly running behind, the patients get mad at me, and I’m sorry but I’m doing rushed dentistry and it’s just not how I want to be. Our lab is so cheap and it shows but when I ask to use a different lab because I’m fed up with this, my company says that’s I’d be responsible for 100% of the lab fee which I just can’t do with the insurance rates.

My question is: I feel like I have it good in terms of a boss that treats me decently well (compared to my previous job which was a nightmare) so I’m scared to leave because what if it’s the same shit, just a different office and now the big man is a jerk too. At the same time, I feel like I can’t keep working like this as it’s truly making me hate this profession. Grass isn’t always greener so I’m not sure what I should value more.

Single canal bifurcating in the apical third , how do i obturate both the canals

Has anyone had any experience with Archy? It seems similar to Curve but better because it has a lot of the patient communication features that weave offers. I'm currently using dentrix (server based) and weave combo.

44 had been asymptomatic but the crown part had been broken recently. I had only did rewalling at 1st visit and quick apex locator reading. The bucal canal showed 0mm to apex while in 20mm file in, meanwhile lingual showed 20mm but unclear{jumpy). I planned to reconfirm and took PA next time.

2nd visit re open temp filling and decided to finally took a photo. This time PA reading is bit diff. 18mm bucal and 20mm lingual but this time my apex locator didnt show 0mm reading to the bucal canal. Ok then I took 15 gutta and took PA. Look extremely underfiled esp the lingual canal(shorter one).I feel tug back for both canal although sometimes the bucal canal feel like hitting a wall under. And Lingual canal once I go past 20mm with #10 pt feel pain +bleeding at paper point.

There is few question to unpack for me :

1.I had hear anatomical apex vs PA apex. But the PA look pretty far still that anyone include me would said its underextended.

1. Bucal canal still look very much under extended even though Lingual canal might be just right. I might use EDTA to redo my patency but is it enough?

3.If there is any suggestion I would love to hear it. Next visit is in 2.5 weeks bcs I had eye ops this week.

My two colleagues and I ordered a set of ergonomic loupes from your company in March. At the time of ordering, we were told they would arrive within a maximum of 14 weeks.

The 14-week deadline came and went without any communication or delivery. I had to email your team to find out what was happening, and only then was I informed that there was a shortage due to the war and that a required component was on back order. While I understand that supply chain issues can occur, I don't understand why we were only informed after the promised delivery timeframe had already passed, and only because I reached out to ask.

I was then told it would be another couple of weeks. In response, I asked whether it would be possible to provide a loaner pair or offer some form of compensation for the ongoing delays. Unfortunately, I received no response.

We are now on week 20, and yesterday I emailed requesting a full refund due to the excessive delay and the lack of communication throughout this process. I then received a reply stating that the loupes are now complete.

I told them I will be continuing with my refund request since I know that if anything goes wrong with them it will be an absolute nightmare trying to get them fixed with the way they communicated during the fabrication process.

So learn from my mistake and go with a more reputable company.
