Click. Click. Click. The TV’s dials turn. It’s been a long day. You recline in your motel chair. It’s stiff. The cushioning is bad. It’s not home. But after a day like this, you just don’t care. Popcorn in your lap. Chips from the vending machine. The second cup of a Reese's 2-pack. You gave the first to the pregnant girl who, in your care, found her first moments of comfort in a weeks-long nightmare.
The channels buzz in and out. You give the TV a good whack. It’s the last of your strength. Your head is killing you. You reach for the bottle of aspirin. You struggle with the cap. You swallow dry. Your wrists ache. And then they sear.
An image. Some static. Sound.
Fanfare and applause arise uproariously—the band starts playing big band. Instruments shine in the harsh studio light.
A lanky man with slicked-back hair walks on stage and gives pistol fingers.
He’s gyrating, somersaults, this man’s tailor is a genius. He’s kissing. Throats are sucking his tongue. He’s shoving the microphone down his throat. Karate chop! He’s already sweating. He’s throwing his sweat everywhere! The ladies love it. The men hate that their ladies love it! Grumpy! Grumpy! Sour! Jealous! Into the crowd. Hands grab! Shoulders! Thighs! Crotch! He’s drowning!
And from the audience he reemerges.
He sits down behind his stage desk.
He smiles a full, satisfied smile. His teeth are polished with God’s shoeshine.
His tongue starts wagging. "You know what they say? Those wackos in Groversville? They say: I wanna believe. Well you know what? I wanna believe they’re crazy. And you know what else?"
Howdy everyone! I'm looking to run the Convergence scenario for Delta Green. I'm pretty new to the system, but I've fallen in love with it. The above blurb is a introduction I wrote for the scenario!
A little about me: I've been gming on and off for about 4 years, but I usually run PF2e, and I'm looking to try out Delta Green. I've ran the system only once so far, but I'm largely familiar with the rules. I'd love to find a group that's willing to fully engage with the system, as its both seems to be a challenge to play, and a challenge to run, yet seemingly, extraordinarily gratifying.
Convergence isn't a particularly long scenario, so if things go well, I'm definitely open to running more stuff I've picked up. The scenario should last about 3 sessions of four hours, but the length can vary depending on what happens during the session.
I currently in the EST timezone and I plan on running games during the evening. I'm free on days other than Saturday and Friday.
If this game sounds up your alley feel to reach out directly on discord @ pillmuncher, and we can talk about the game!
