I have a Dell Precision 7730 with the following specifications:

- CPU: Intel Xeon E-2176M (6 cores / 12 threads)

- GPU: NVIDIA Quadro P3200 6GB

- RAM: 32GB DDR4

- Storage: 1TB SSD

- Display: 17.3" Full HD

- Operating System: Windows 11 Pro for Workstations

I'm experiencing unusually high CPU temperatures. Even when I'm only browsing the web or doing very light tasks, the CPU temperature stays between 80°C and 90°C, and sometimes goes even higher.

I have already replaced the thermal paste several times using good-quality paste, cleaned the cooling system, and made sure the fans are working properly, but the problem persists.

Does anyone know what could cause this? I've already replaced the thermal paste multiple times, cleaned the heatsink and fans, and the issue still remains. Any troubleshooting ideas would be appreciated.

Hey guys. I'm on a low budget and getting a laptop to use primarily for writing. So keyboard is really important to me. I tested a 5420 today and fell in love with the keyboard.

I have an opportunity to get a Latitude 7320, but am unable to test it as I'd need to get it couriered or drive very far to get it in person.

I just want to ask if anyone can attest to whether the keyboard is any different to the 5420? If they're the same, then I'll get the 7320. But if it's different, I might stick with the 5420. Even if specs are better on the 7320, keyboard is a must for me and alot of other laptops I tried, including other dells just didnt have a keyboard i liked at all (even the lenovo thinkpad, not for me).

If it means anything, I'm autistic so I'm very sensitive to tactile which is why I'd notice even the smallest differences

EDIT: being offered a 7420 now as well. for the same price as the others, so seems a much better deal. is the keyboard the same though? also wont be able to test before doing courier

I am an IT Professional at a major University here in the states, and have had nothing but issues with getting Dell to honor their ProSupport contracts. They regularly treat the claims as basic consumer level claims and refuse to provide service, support, and parts with any measure of speed of purpose. "Next day" turns into weeks long arguments with Tier 0 or Tier 1 Support reps quoting out of, and sending us copies of, the consumer at-home support contract. If this continues to be the case, I will have no choice but to advise our institution to move away from Dell Support at the very least, if not away from the company as a whole.
Very unsatisfied with the responses thus far.

Anyone else have similar issues in the professional realm?

Hi everyone, I'm using a Dell Inspiron 15 3511 (Windows 11).

I've been facing a serious issue with my laptop: No sound at all. "No input/output device" is shown in Sound settings. Speaker icon is missing. Wi-Fi and battery icons have also disappeared from the taskbar. In Sound settings, the input and output device lists are completely empty. Windows Audio service is running. I uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers. I installed all recommended drivers using Dell SupportAssist. Dell diagnostics didn't identify a speaker hardware failure.

Has anyone experienced this? Could this be a Windows corruption issue, a driver problem, or something else? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Around 4 years ago I bought a (rarely) used Dell XPS 9560. It's survived me through the end of high school and the end of university. Now, I'm working as a video editor for a new, small-scale company. I've struggled a bit with this laptop for video editing, with lag and consequently a slower workflow, and I think I need a battery replacement or a RAM upgrade.

I absolutely love this laptop, but unfortunately it's starting to affect my work. I just graduated and can't afford to replace it, so I want to invest in it. How much will its performance increase if I get another 16GB ram stick to upgrade to 32GB and battery replacement? Would it be worth it?

After they have refused to honor the warranty on my Alienware laptop they finally shipped it back to me unrepaired. Now I am demanding that they refund the $170 that I paid to have the warranty renewed recently.

I have been a Dell customer for about 30 years. My entire family has purchased Dells at my recommendation. All of that is about to change simply because they could not honor a simple warranty.

(To get ahead of any questions: they claimed that they could not perform the covered repairs because of supposed user damage. When I sent them the laptop, there was no user damage evident. They tried to get me to pay an additional $100 to fix this phantom "user damage" so that they would honor the warranty.)

I’m looking to upgrade the stock screen on my Dell Precision 7520. My current screen (BOE0713) has terrible viewing angles and washed-out colors (feels like a cheap TN panel).

I want to swap it for a good 15.6" Full HD (1920x1080) IPS panel with a standard 30-pin eDP connector so I can keep my current display cable. I don't need touch screen or glass, just better colors and wide viewing angles.

Does anyone have a specific panel part number (like N156HCE or similar) that fits well into the 7520? Thanks!

I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 for around ₹80k during COVID, and it’s been a frustrating experience almost from day one.

The battery life has always been terrible. The Wi-Fi randomly disconnects, and I constantly have to reset the network adapter. Even when it’s connected, the internet is much slower than on every other device in my house. Overall, the laptop has never felt as smooth or reliable as an ₹80k laptop should.

On top of that, if I pick up the laptop from a certain side or hold it at a certain angle, it randomly shuts off. That definitely shouldn’t happen on a laptop in this price range.

I’ve literally tried every solution I could find on YouTube, Reddit, Dell forums, and other tech forums. I’ve reinstalled drivers, updated the BIOS, reset network settings, and even reinstalled Windows. Nothing has permanently fixed the issues.

During the warranty period, I took it to the Dell service center multiple times. They tried different fixes, including reinstalling Windows, but they couldn’t solve the problems either. Each visit consumed a lot of my time, and before I knew it, the warranty had expired. The laptop still has the exact same issues.

I genuinely feel like I wasted ₹80k. Looking back, I didn’t know much about laptops back then, but now I realize I could’ve bought something much better for the same price or even less.

If you’re considering buying a Dell Inspiron, especially if you’re spending this much money, I’d strongly recommend looking at other options first. My experience has been nothing but frustrating, and I wouldn’t want someone else to go through the same thing.

I bought an Alienware AW2725Q monitor in Japan from the official online dell store. As everyone advice me I contacted to dell and told the case that dead pixel was there. Yet they said the guideline says replacement needs at least 5 dead pixels. Can you guys help me get a replacement by teaching me if dead pixel on arrival still is considered in the 5 dead pixel guideline since it CAME did. If it applies, do I have any way to get a replacement. I have until July 26th for the initial 10 day refund page to close.

need help!! corner has been cracked. no cracking sounds when opening and screen is properly working.

I currently own a Tower Plus EBT 2250 with a 460W PSU and am planning on upgrading to a more powerful 5070ti GPU. I want to this upgrade my PSU to 750W, but I heard this model may not take 3rd party PSUs. Can I only upgrade to a proprietary Dell PSU? If so where would I buy that? If I am able to upgrade to a 3rd party PSU would I need adapters etc.?

Connected my laptop to charger,then the charging light glows. screen lid (panel ) was already opened but laptop was shutdown, then I press the power button of the laptop, but laptop didn't start, and light keeps on glowing even when charger is removed, now laptop is not booting no matter what I do , (with/ with out charger, pressing the power button and opening the lid etc) the light keeps on glowing but laptop wont start. I have faced this problem many times , fixed it by disconnecting and connecting the battery, so why its keep happening and how to fix it ?

(laptop upside down because motherboard is on the other side) won't turn on, not even the LED light that detects charging won't turn on when plugged in. Previous night it flickers on for a second or 2 when I hold the power button. Now it doesn't.

Hi, I'm having an issue with my wife's computer (XPS 15 9510), maybe someone here can help.

It shows "no bootable device" and thus doesn't boot.

So far I've run diagnostics via the F12 menu which reports "all tests passed successfully" and tried to correct the boot sequence.

In the boot sequence it only shows "UEFI HTTPs Boot" as the single element, no windows boot manager available.

I've tried to add the boot option manually but the button "browse for file" doesn't respond.

Does anybody have an idea?

I got a refurbished dell precision 5560 last month ,rtx a2000 4 gb 45 w ,i9 11950h,16 gb ram,it was working well but this week it started experiencing a problem where the temperature decreases slightly from lets say 74 to 68 then the fps drops down from 60 to 20,do i need to return it or is there a common fix?

Hi, I have a P2425H - The simplest explanation is that it does not detect DP no matter what.
I was trying to use the cable I received with the monitor as well as my own DP 1.4 cable. I've tested both GPU slots(rx6600), and yes I've checked if the input source is DP.

I'm currently using it with a VGA to HDMI converter, but I'd like to use DP.
