Megathread Master List of Dairy-Free & Soy-Free Foods (from a breastfeeding mom who did the work)

Sharing in case it helps any other moms or dads out there.

Where to get dairy and nut free cheeses?
I have a minor dairy allergy. I won't die, but I'll get pretty sick to my stomach. I've cut out milk, butter, yogurt, but I struggle with Cheese. I have a severe tree nut allergy and all grocery stores local to me only have cashew cheeses :(.
I was wondering if there are any good online stores to purchase alternative cheeses that won't make me sick or kill me, lol. Open to any and all recommendations!

pancakes?
hey everyone! I’m newly free and gluten-free. Finding breakfast is really hard. That’s not cereal and I miss pancakes! I have gluten-free and dairy free chocolate chips, and I would love to make chocolate chip pancakes once I was looking online and it seems that all the gluten-free pancake mixes have 60 to 70 more calories than regular pancake mix. Does anyone have any tips?

Dairy free all my life, just wondering
Are df cheeses really that bad in comparison to actual cheese? I sometimes feel very disappointed and a bit sad that I can never have nor experience the actual flavour of cheese without putting myself at risk of anaphylaxis.
Is/was cheese really that special? Kinda peeved by people saying that they can’t live without it (wow thanks for telling me that my life is absolutely not worth living at all) How much am I missing out by not having dairy all my life?

Help me bring my favorite DF snack back :')
Hi all! I've been df for 10 years, but had always loved goldfish crackers. The closest replacement I found were the vegan MadeGood starpuffed crackers. I ate them nearly daily and they never hurt my stomach.
MadeGood just announced the other day that they're being discontinued, and I can't even explain how sad I am. The only hope I have is that on the discontinued site, they added this note: "If you'd love to see these products return, let us know."
If anyone else loved these snacks as much as I did or wants to help a gal bring her fave snack back, I encourage you to send them a note on their website here: https://madegoodfoods.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
Thank you SO much everyone. I feel like those without food restrictions don't always understand how much it sucks to have products taken away on us!

If you magically woke up tomorrow and weren't lactose intolerant anymore... what's the first thing you'd eat? 👀
So curious... I was having this conversation with a friend.
If you magically woke up tomorrow and weren't lactose intolerant anymore, what's the first thing you'd eat?
Mine: A bougie-ass charcuterie board with all the cheeses, get drunk af, then destroy an entire cheesy pizza... and finish it off with creamy vanilla ice cream. 😂🍕🍦

country crock heavy whipping cream
Does anyone know if they’re discontinuing this? The only place i could always find it was at my local walmart and for the past week they’ve been sold out. There are no tags on the shelf for the product either. When i do a quick google search of the product not much is coming up. I am going to be devastated if they discontinue this. It’s so hard to find good dairy free whipping cream that doesn’t taste like coconut. (signed a coconut hater)

Batata frita
Olá, tenho uma viagem marcada para os USA. É verdade que as batatas fritas do MC DONALDS levam leite na composição?

Burger King onion rings?
My best friend (also dairy-free) came to me saying he just found out that, apparently, the onion rings from Burger King don't have any milk. He and I are both heavily allergic, so we were initially concerned about cross contamination, but we've been having the fries from there just fine - at least, the ones from our local Burger King. Are they really dairy-free? If so, is this a recent recipe change, or have they always been this way?

Anhedonia from dairy.
Has anyone experienced anhedonia from dairy? It's the inability to feel pleasure in things that really mimic some aspects of depression. People have mistakenly believed that I was depressed or had ADD, especially at young age because I would be so disconnected mentally. I don't experience the typical GI symptoms nor the allergic symptoms, but a decent amount of dairy will cause me to have anhedonia for hours or even days if I eat it continuously over several days. I come out as highly reactive to dairy proteins in multiple IgG tests, but not IgE. I'm glad I have made the connection, as going dairy free gives me tremendous relief from the anhedonia and related symptoms.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'd love to hear from you.

My allergy meds have dairy -_-
Dairy allergy runs in my family. Mine only developed in the last two years so I'm still getting used to it. I have other allergies. Some common symptoms for me include thumb, pointer, middle right finger swelling, itching (usually my face), shortness of breath, increased heart rate. I just did some blood testing for dairy allergy but I don't know exactly what I'm allergic to. I can have goat & sheep products but not lactose free products.
I take birth control & it does have the heavily processed lactose monohydrate common in meds, but I've been taking it for 6 months and keep my diet strictly dairy free as best I can, which I guess is good enough for me to avoid the worst of my reactions.
I was encouraged by a doctor to start taking Zyrtec to avoid "random" allergic reactions I have.... I recently have been having my allergy symptoms build up and I've been process of elimination trying to find the culprit. I decided to google Zyrtec on a whim and it has the same lactose sugar my birth control does!!! I guess taking both every night was too much... :/
TLDR; I found out Zyrtec contains dairy 😣

Dairy free soft serve ice cream in the Phoenix area?
As the title says, I've been craving soft serve and can't find anything near where I live. Anywhere with dairy free soft serve in Phoenix?

Banana & non-dairy milk no-churn “ice cream”?
Awhile back, I put some frozen bananas and strawberries in the food processor, then threw in leftover (dairy) sweetened condensed milk & whipping cream, and it froze into a pretty tasty, still somewhat scoop-able ice cream. But Mom is dairy free and I’m trying to cut down on my dairy as well. Neither of us likes coconut flavor. We always have too-ripe bananas in the freezer, and I’ve bought a can of sweetened condensed oat milk (but it was $$$), and so now I’m wondering how best to build on my earlier success and make some tasty frozen creaminess (that doesn’t taste exclusively like bananas) without dairy. Any suggestions or experience to share?

Dairy free pizza crust
Does anyone have any recommendations for a crust like Boboli? I hate rolling out dough. When I was gluten free during all my testing I had Schar and it was ok.

Straight up Annoyed
I just need to vent because I'm over this crap.
I live in the GTA in ontario, canada.
Why the HELL is every food item on any given menu at any given restaurant unless exclusively vegan pumped full of dairy !?!
Why does bread have dairy in it !?!
Not everything needs cheese sauce, or ranch squirted all over it.
Why is whey an ingredient ? why does dairy need to be used in fried chicken batter !?!
I use to LOVE takeout and now I really friggen don't because nothing is safe.
The level of careful I now have to be reminds me of my obsession with food when I was anorexic and it's fucking with my mental health.
Just straight up not happy.
And sure, I can cook at home. But don't get me started on the cost of ingredients from the grocery store.
Is eating even worth it anymore ?
Give me a fully incorporated daily nutrient supplement with all the calories I need and leave me alone.
I'm so tried of food and trying to eat.
( Incredibly lactose intolerance. Lactaid doesn't help. I've taken 12 at once - doesn't work )
Why is dairy in EVERYTHING in Canada
edit: it got worse, since I've been eating so many veggies, I am now deeply concerned I have the viral diarrhea that's going around the states ( Ontario is attached to Michigan )

Trying these! Fingers crossed they’re good
Found at Sprouts today. I figured I could add my own little toppings and enjoy some pizza. Have any of you tried?
